• Neon Genesis Evangelion was nominated (but lost to Princess Mononoke) the 39^th Japanese Grammy Awards for animation music.
• Neon Genesis Evangelion won the 1997 multi-media cultural award for animation. The award night is scheduled for February 2, 1998 at the New Tokyo National Theater. There will be an Evangelion Exhibition. Entrance is free.
• Neon Genesis Evangelion game Girl of Steel will make its debut on Sega Saturn (March 31,1998) and Play Station (date uncertain).
• A new Newtype Film Book titled The End of Evangelion (DEATH, AIR, MAGOKORO O KIMI NI) is now on sale. This three books contains all the scenes from the The End of Evangelion. It cost 600 yen plus tax per book.
• Trading cards of The End of Evangelion is now on sale. Its 314 yen excluding tax per pack which contains 7 cards.
• The anime Neon Genesis Evangelion has received three awards in the 1997 Animation Festival in Kobe for Interactive Software Category (Neon Genesis Evangelion Game: Girl of Steel), Popularity Category (Neon Genesis Death & Rebirth/ The End of Evangelion) and the Soundtrack Category
• A special CD-Rom which will contain MIDE Files used in the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion will go on sale this February 2, 1998 . Price is 5000 yen excluding tax. It will have 11 songs in it including Zankoku no Tenshi no Teeze, Tamashi no Rufuran, Thanatos - If I Cant Be Yours and Fly Me To The Moon.
• LaserDisk No. 11 featuring episodes 21 and 22 will be out by February 4 from King Records.
• A newly edited, no cut version of the two Evangelion Movies: Death and Rebirth and The End of Evangelion will be shown as one movie in March 1998. Tickets will go on sale this December 20, 1997.
• Part Four of the comic series Neon Genesis Evangelion by Sadamoto has gone on sale last October 20, 1997
• The End of Evangelion Movie Sound Track CD has gone on sale last September 26, it has all the music used in the movie. Plus it contains great pictures from the movie The price is 2913 yen plus tax.
• The Evangelion Digital Card Library by SEGA saturn has gone on sale last September 25 at the price of 4320 yen. Unless you have money to burn you might be a bit disappointed since it contains only the illustrations used in trading cards and some simple games.
• The Neon Genesis Evangelion Screen Saver Volume 2 has gone on sale last September 12 in all computer software stores and anime stations. It is a Windows and Macintosh CD-Rom containing 20 different screen savers and 50 icons to supplement the Volume 1 which was previously released. The price is 6800 yen plus tax.
• A new Newtype Film Book titled Evangelion: Death is out last July 15. This contains all the scenes from the Evangelion The Movie Death edition (The 24 episode summary). It cost 600 yen excluding tax, 112 pages and B6 in size (same size as the Evangelion Film Book 1 to 9). A must have for any die-hard Eva fans and for people who would need a quick review of the anime before seeing The End of Evangelion.
• For those who are following the illustrated card series or Trading Cards of Evangelion. There is currently 3 kinds of trading cards on sale. They are the following:

1. CARDDASS MASTERS PART 1 and PART 2 - 119mm by 63 mm cards. Both of which are 172 cards to complete the series (a total of 344 cards if you combine part 1 and part2). One pack of 10 cards cost 291 yen excluding tax.
2. CARDDASS CARDS - 86 mm by 59 mm cards. A total of 109 cards to complete the series. One set of 5 cards cost 100 yen including tax.
3. SEGA CARD COLLECTION PART 1 and PART 2 - 86 mm by 59 mm cards. Part 1 has a total of 44 cards while part 2 has 55 cards to complete the series. One card cost 20 yen including tax or one set of 34 cards cost 600 yen excluding tax.

• There are currently 2 binders available for the Evangelion Trading Cards. The CARDDASS MASTERS and CARDDASS/SEGA card collection. Each offers a special number 00 card when you purchase them. Now the news is a special binder for the Evangelion movie has been released last August.
• There is currently 5 action figures or Real Models of the Evangelion Robots released. Real Model 01,02,03,04 and 05 (Eva-01, Eva-00 -Blue, Eva-02, Eva-00 -Orange and Eva-03). Now Eva-05 has been released along with Sachiel. Each action figure cost 1980 yen excluding tax. By the way, this is different from the usual Eva models you need to assemble. • The exact copy of the R-55 Bag of Shinji which he used when he ran away in Episode 4 of the TV series is now on sale. It cost 9800 yen excluding tax. Visit your nearest Anime Stores for more information.
• The Neon Genesis Evangelion CD ROM Role Playing PC Game produced by GAINAX titled: IRON MAIDEN or GIRLFRIEND OF STEEL was released in July 11. The cost will be 14,800 yen. (In my opinion too expensive for a game) both in Macintosh and Windows95
• In case you dont know, Director Anno is a lover of UCC COFFEE, and has allowed that company to produce 6 special cans of UCC COFFEE bearing the pictures of six of the characters from Evangelion. The special edition coffee cans was released last July 1. Visit your nearest Seven-Eleven. Now the problem is how to drink the coffee inside the can without opening it ? Any suggestions ?
• The TV series anime: NEON GENESIS EVANGELION has made its debut on DVD this July 19, 1997. Thus Vol 1 (Episode 1 to 4) will start selling July 19 (6600 yen plus tax). Vol 2 (Episode 5 to 8) will be released August 21 while Vol 3 (Episode 9 to 12) will be on September 16, Vol 4 (Episode 13 to 16) will be on October 22 and Vol 5 (Episode 17 to 20) will be on November 21. The rest of the remaining episode (Episode 21 to 26) release date is still uncertain.
• For all the people who bought the REI and ASUKA small picturial book by Gainax, SHINJI and KAWORU has been released and can be ordered from the nearest Big Bookstore in your area. (Price for each booklet: 440 yen plus tax)
• The EVANGELION COLLECTOR's DISC (CD_ROM) Vol 5 which started selling June 6 (6800 yen plus tax), this contains 200 pictures and illustrations from the TV series and the DEATH part of the movie, also includes voice, clock and calender.
• EVANGELION PHOTO BOOK- 2015/The Last Year of Kaji (collector's edition) started selling this June. Thirty photographs (computer generated, you cant distinguish it from the real pictures) and 16 original Kaji reports are included. It is 4800 yen plus tax, again if you have money to burn then buy it else just let your friends buy it and look to judge it for yourself.
• the soundtrack (1500 yen Code:KICA-360) for the movie DEATH has been released last June 11, contains 16 music
