Sana, after restoring order to the classroom, begins noticing Hayama differently, as somebody who always keeps to himself and displays very little emotion. Sana begins to follow Hayama around to understand better why Hayama is the way he is.
Hayama, always able to ditch Sana, finally confronts her. He then starts talking with Sana explaining why he doesn't like his life and the pulls out a pocket knife and tells Sana that he is going to kill himself, which causes Sana to freak out.
The next day at school, all Sana can think about is what Hayama told her the day before. As school ends for the day Hayama starts walking down the hall and stares out a window, at which point Sana begins to panic thinking Hayama is going to jump and races to try to stop him. This continues throughout the rest of the day, from drowning himself at the drinking fountain to jumping into traffic.
The episode ends as Sana visits a surprised Hayama and witnesses first hand the treatment of Hayama by his sister because of his father's absence.
Sana is determined to put this family back together.
