Heck, I love every one of them. And having "dated" them all, it'd be rude to
play favorites <g>.
Actually, I like all the characters for different reasons- Kouran because she's
the technowhiz and the first character I finished with, and so on. The "new
batch" also rank up there, and I really have no one I dislike. I even like the
Baragumi <g>.
I think one of my current favorite non-Hanagumi characters is the leader of the
Tsukigumi, Yuuichi Kayama! I find him a great character (He's also something
of a parody/homage to a real Japanese popular musician.).

BTW, here's a fun feature, which I don't know if you're all aware of...
Take your Sakura Taisen CD-ROMs (including the "Steam Radio Show" or "Columns")
and play them just as if they were music CDs. You'll get a surprise message
about copying from a favorite Hanagumi character (or two- or three!) on each
one. (The ST2 CD-ROMs all are different- check them all out!)
This showed me the full attention to detail the designers had. Just another fan
bonus!
