REX tells about the story of a girl who lives with her paleontologist father in some rural area in Japan, but being separated from her mother because her mother, also an expert in fossil studies, has left the husband and daughter to pursue her career in USA.  In an exploration with her father and a friend, the girl discovers some large eggs, one of which is strangely alive! A cute little dinosaur is born out of the egg, and the lonely girl finally gets a special friend.  And she also gets to see her mother, who is coming to Japan because of the news of this modern paleolithic creature... From the CLAMP Internet Guide, we learn that CLAMP made this production as a request of their publisher Kadokawa Shoten to promote the movie Rex.  This manga is for children and young teens, talking many kinds of love, but the only thing that can be said to be romantic about this manga, as far as I know, is the choice of colour pink.  It is absolutely a clean story, the type which CLAMP obviously has forgotten how to produce in recent years. ^_^

Though REX the manga is supposed to be a promotion for REX the movie, CLAMP did have REX T-shirts that were not very much related to the movie itself.
