Written by Hajime Kanzaka with illustrations done by Rui Araizumi, Slayers tells the adventures of a powerful sorceress named Lina Inverse. Slayers is divided in two storylines, Slayers and Slayers Special. In Slayers, She is with young swordmaster Gourry, and in Slayers Special, Lina is with her eternal rival Naga The "White Serpent".

MANGA: SP. is serialized in the monthly Dragon Magazine; these are short stories by Hajime Kanzaka and Rui Araizumi which are later collected into the Slayers Special novels. The novels of the Slayers series consist of full novel-length stories with an ongoing storyline. There are currently 12 Slayers novels, 12 Slayers Special novels, 2 mini Slayers Delicious novels (which also follow the SP. storyline) as well as 6 MAGIUS Slayers RPG books. There is also one manga collection of short comics put out in Dragon magazine by Rui Araizumi (story by Hajime Kanzaka), and an ongoing Slayers manga series Chou-baku Madouden Slayers, currently 6 volumes long done by Shoko Yoshinaka (story also by Hajime Kanzaka).

ANIME: Since 1995, there have been 3 seasons of Slayers on TV. 26 episodes each season. Slayers, Slayers Next and Slayers TRY. There are also Original Video Animations based on the Slayers SP storyline (Slayers Special and Slayers Excellent) and four feature films. Slayers the movie, Slayers Return, Slayers Great and Slayers Gorgeous. There are TONS of merchandising including CD-ROMS, ARTBOOKS, VIDEO GAMES...And the list goes on and on...
