Alexander Vandell's Ronin Warriors FAQ
----- This is my little FAQ where I attempt to
answer questions posed by people about the Ronin Warriors show. There
arn't many questions yet because I don't get a lot of questions, but please
please send me any you may have. If I like them and can answer them
I'll post them up here.
Question: What was this show called in Japan?
-
It was originally known as Yoroiden Samurai Troopers. It was changed
to Ronin Warriors to avoid possible copyright violations.
Question: When was this show aired?
-
It was originally aired in Japan in 1988. It was aired in the US on
network TV in mid 1995. In late 1996 The Sci-Fi Channel aired it. It
never lasted very long anywhere. It was only run though about 1 and
a half times each airing.
Question: How many episodes were made?
-
39 episodes were made. There were also 3 OAVs made in Japan which have
yet to be dubbed or subbed and brought to the US.
Question: How come there is no Hariel in the Japanese versian?
-
Hariel was never in the Japanese versian. He was added to the American
versian because Playmates insisted on making a toy of Ryo in the Inferno
Armor and calling it a different name. So they added Hariel to the
story line. Why Playmates, the company who thought up over 30 different
versians of the Ninja Turtles couldn't just call the figure "Ryo in the Inferno
Armor" is beyond me. But how does this effect the story? Not
very much. The important thing is not to get obsessed about him. The
fact is that Hariel is a part of Ronin Warriors but not a part of Yoroiden
Samurai Troopers. Which means he can be used by fanfic writers. I
do asure you that this is not an area of the show that is that important.
I only say this because I have seen some people blow this way out of
proportion.
