Part 5: The Fall of Night

The four exhausted former warlords began to stir, their powers were returning to them. Overhead a swarm of Talpa's Mecha Knights flew over the Isle of Mists.
Kayura, knowing the warlords were to weak to fight Talpa's minions, used the power of the Ancient's staff. Energy surged from the sphere on top of the staff and engulfed the warlords.

Inside Mia's house the worn out Ronin Warriors rested from a tiring battle. Ryo, still unconscious from his battle with the Mecha Knights lied in bed steadily regaining his strength.
"What are we going to do now that Ryo is out of it?" questioned Sai.
"There is nothing we can do until Ryo gets better. We simply have to hope that the warlords are having better luck than us." responded Rowen.
Mia walked into the living room and sat down beside Rowen. "Ryo is recovering quickly. He should be waking up soon," she stated.
"Good, because we have some serious Dynasty butt to kick." replied Rowen.
The air shimmered and flashed. In a ball of energy the warlords appeared.
"Now that was an entrance," laughed Kento.
"This is not the time for jokes. Draka's forces attacked the Isle of Mists. Our armor's powers were temporarily drained by Mayu. When Draka left the Isle he had decimated the population of monks living there. Talpa quickly dispatched a massive occupation force to the island. You must go and stop Talpa." interrupted Kayura.
"We can't! Ryo was knocked unconscious in the last battle. Those mecha knights will mop the floor with us if we can't use the Inferno Armor." shouted Kento.
"Like it or not Kento we have to try." responded Rowen.
"I agree," supported Sage.
"Count me in," added Sai.
"Ronin to arms. ARMOR OF STRATA!"
"ARMOR OF HALO!"
"ARMOR OF TORRENT!"
"ARMOR OF HARD ROCK!"
"DOW CHI!"
Having called upon their mystical armor the Ronin Warriors expected to be readied for battle. Nothing! They stood there in their sub armors looking confused and worried.
"What! Why couldn't we armor up!" shouted Kento.
Mia thought about it for a second and then developed a theory. "Your armor's power must still be locked in the Inferno Armor. Until it completes healing itself, you won't be able to use your armors."

In the ruined castle on the Isle of Mists Talpa walked with Kinjiro discussing their latest victory.
"This was too easy Kinjiro."
"That is because Draka already did our work for us."
"Yes. It is time that I rewarded you for your loyal service to the Dynasty."
Talpa led Kinjiro to a room in the newly conquered castle. In front of the far wall stood a brownish-gray suit of armor.
"Kinjiro, this is the Armor of Strife accept it and it shall be yours. You need only call upon its power."
"ARMOR OF STRIFE!"
No sooner had Kinjiro called upon the armor than it began to form up around him. First the gauntlets formed around his hands and arms. Next the chest and back plates formed up. Followed up by the helmet. Finally the foot and shin plates formed up.
"Now, Kinjiro, there is something that I need you to retrieve for me."

In one of the lower levels of Talpa's new castle a figure walked in the shadows. The hall was decorated with may ancient suits of armor and antique vases. The figure looked to his right sensing another presence. Like lightning, his arm shot out and grabbed hold of a monk. The figure pulled the cowering monk toward him.
"Let me go! Let me go!" shouted the monk.
"Quiet, or you'll alert the guards."
"Who are you?" the monk inquired quietly.
"I am Lord Saber Strike."
"We were expecting you until Draka attacked us. Then Talpa moved in and well look at the place."
Putting the monk down, Saber Strike instructed him to keep quiet and lead him to a suitable weapon.
Suddenly the hallway lit up with a greenish light. Saber Strike grabbed the monk and jumped into a nearby hall, as three energy bolts soared past them.
"What the -" Saber Strike muttered.
The sound of its foot steps could be heard echoing down the hall. Saber Strike looked around the hall for a weapon. On the wall he saw a pair of swords. Saber Strike took the swords and readied himself for battle.
A Mecha Knight stepped into the hall and pointed its arm cannons at Saber Strike. The monk hid behind an old table.

In Mia's house the Ronin Warriors were pondering the situation at hand.
"We can't use our armor, Draka has some new super sword, and Talpa just took over an Island that is some sort of depository for every kind of lost mystical artifact in existence! What are we suppose to do now!" screamed Kento.
"Nothing," responded a booming voice as the front door to Mia's house was knocked down.
In the doorway stood a warrior in brownish-gray armor.
"Who are you?!" shouted Kento.
The warriors face plate divided in half and slid into his helmet. "Recognize me now?"
"Kinjiro?"
Kento leaped at Kinjiro and extended his foot for a power kick. Kinjiro grabbed hold of Kento's ankle and threw him into the wall.
"Who's next?" Kinjiro boasted.
"I am." challenged Lady Kayura stepping forward wearing her original armor and wielding her infamous Starlight Swords.
Kayura jumped forward at Kinjiro. She brought her swords down on top of him. Kinjiro was ready, he drew his datchi and blocked her attack. Kayura flipped back out of Kinjiro's range.
Kayura put the hilts of her swords together and began spin them around. She jumped up and her Star Swords sent out waves of energy which segmented into hundreds of little beams which pelted Kinjiro from all directions.
Kinjiro stepped back and focused his new armor's power on blocking the attack. Kinjiro then counter attacked.
He leaped forward and slammed his datchi down on Kayura. She blocked with her swords, but his strength was overwhelming. Kinjiro's datchi began to glow and then discharged a massive energy blast the sent Kayura hurtling through the wall.
Kinjiro stepped forward, ignoring the Ronin Warriors and warlords as they tried to stop him using only their sub armor. Kinjiro wasn't even phased as the Ronin and warlords kept up their counter attack. He picked up Ryo and was then consumed by energy and disappeared.

In Talpa's new palace Kinjiro brought the unconscious Ryo to his emperor.
"You request Ryo of Wildfire and I deliver."
"Excellent work Kinjiro. Now witness my greatest triumph."
Talpa turned and began to call forth his Nether Spirits. Kinjiro placed Ryo in the middle of the floor in preparation for the ritual.
"Nether Spirits I call upon you. Arise and serve me. Arise."
As Talpa's Nether Spirits arose Ryo became covered in blue flames.
"Nether Spirits, rip his Inferno armor from him. I shall use it for my own dark designs." Talpa commanded.
The Nether Spirits began chanting and Ryo's Inferno Armor appeared around him. The chanting of the Nether Spirits changed and the armor left Ryo and hovered in air shrouded in blue flames. Ryo was left unconscious on the floor. Talpa and his minions left the room with the Inferno Armor to prepare for the next phase in Talpa's plan.

In his castle in the Nether World Emperor Draka had summoned his greatest warlords before him.
"Before I can begin my assault on the Mortal World I must learn what these humans powers and capabilities are. Mayu, I am assigning that task to you. Hikaro, you will ready my armies and warlords for the invasion. Yin Fang Sung prepare your Nether Dragons."
Draka's minions bowed and left to carry out their assignments.

The green energy bolts flew at Saber Strike. He deflected them with his sword. The Mecha Knight's missile hatches opened and let loose a hoard of 10 missiles at Saber Strike. Saber Strike blocked the attack but he could feel its effect on him.
The Mecha Knight moved the pylon on its back to its shoulder. The pylon became charged with energy and let loose a massive blast at Saber Strike. Saber Strike dodged the blast and leaped up. The energy blast vaporized a portion of a nearby wall. Saber Strike glanced through the hole and noticed someone lying on the floor in the room on the other side of the wall.
"Ryo!" exclaimed Saber Strike, "Enough of this."
"WINGED ANGEL OF DEATH!"
A massive whirlwind of energy and air flew from Saber Strike and hit the Mecha Knight. It sent the Mecha Knight flying backwards.
While the Mecha Knight was recovering Saber Strike and the monk ran through the damaged wall. Saber Strike picked up Ryo while the monk used his magic to create a portal.
"We can escape the island through here." stated the monk.
Saber Strike, now carrying the unconscious Ryo, jumped through the portal and the monk quickly followed.
As soon as they were through the portal closed behind them.

At Mia's house the Ronin Warriors and warlords were beginning to sense that there was no hope left for their fight against evil.
Saber Strike walked through the doorway, supporting a now conscious Ryo, with an ancient warrior monk following behind him.
"I have come to return your captured companion to you and to pledge my services in your quest to defeat Talpa." he stated kneeling before them.
