The teen sat up in his room before a large notebook. He scribbled something, then erased it roughly, and wrote again. Again and again he made mistakes. Finally the paper ripped. "ARG!" He pulled it out of the three ringed binder and rolled it up. He tossed it in the evergrowing pile of trash. His head hit the table as he sighed again. I can't believe it, I won't believe it. It can't be true. His blue-violet eyes looked back at the notebook. Come on Sage, time to finish your homework before your teacher kills you. But how can I finish it all now? Eh.. History teacher never minds much when other students don't finish. Then again, dad would kill me if he found out. He rolled his eyes as his head ached again. "Why me?"
After what seemed like forever to him, Sage finished up his homework and drifted off to sleep.
"Where's Sage?" Ryo asked.
"Yeah he's late." Cye looked around.
"Later than Rowen!" Kento joked as they walked together to school on a slightly cool morning.
"Hey." Rowen's voice growled.
Just then a boy ran up, barely keeping a backpack on. He gasped for breath as he reached them.
"Well hello Sage. Getting bad habits?" Kento teased.
Sage brushed a hand through his blonde hair to straighten it out. "Guys.. you'll.. never believe.. what happened.. to me.. yesterday." He gasped between words.
"You got a date?" The group laughed and snickered.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." Sage said sarcasticly. "No. I ran into.. um.. one of our old friends."
"Mia?" Cye looked puzzled.
"No, someone who was evil."
"Kayura!" Kento yelled. "I knew it was a date!"
Sage groaned. "No, not Kayura. But you got the right hair color."
"Huh?" Kento furrowed his brow.
"I think I see the steam coming from his ears now." Rowen teased.
"Think! Blue hair, used to be evil.." Sage urged on.
Ryo sighed. "Maybe it's just too early to think."
Rowen put his right index finger on his right cheek. "Hmmm.. blue hair and used to be evil. And you saw this person yesterday you say Sage? Sounds like Cale to me."
Sage smiled a little bit. "Glad someone can figure these things out."
Kento gawked as did the other three teens. "You mean Rowen's right?"
"Yup. I saw Cale yesterday."
"Wha.. How?"
"He was practicing with my dad in the dojo."
"You sure you didn't overwork yourself?"
Sage gave an irrated and serious look. "Very sure."
The other Ronins just looked stunned and surprised. "But, I thought they left? Why are they back?" Kento looked around nerviously.
"I don't know. I suppose we'll find out soon enough." Sage said in a serious tone.
"I thank you for all that you have generously gave me." A man said.
"It's no problem, really." The woman brushed a bit of her blue hair aside.
He shook his head. "No, this curtesy is even above and beyond what's called for Rei-San."
She blushed. "Well, truth be told, at first I didn't believe you, of all this." She paused. "But now that you showed me.. it's unbelieveable yet true."
Anubis chuckled a little. "Well I felt you were one of the few people that could help me. I don't know how long I've been gone or where my friends are at."
Rei nodded. "I'll try my best to find them, but you said some of the friends I know you also knew."
"Yes like Ryo. But they all think I'm dead."
"That would be a problem." Rei sat down again to try to think.
