(Legend of the Inferno)
Part 1: Taiyo no Mukara (Mukara of the Sun)
----- Part one of the OAV opens in the summer
of 1990. Mia is bicycling around a lake near her house. When
she gets home she opens her mail and finds a letter from Yuli telling about
how he went stargazing with Rowen. The scene shifts to a beech. We
see a close up of the infamous "Dudwoiser" can. Kento and Sai are surfing
and the sun is blazing hot. They lie on the boards after a wipe out
and Sai teases Kento about how much he loves to fight. Sai (lamer scene
#1) is glad that they no longer have to use the Armors (that's what they
think).
----- Yuli and Rowen are walking back from their
stargazing trip. White Blaze runs towards them and oddly passes them
both up. Yuli thinks that he has forgotten about them. Mia comes
cruising by in her jeep and talks with Rowen. Mia is looking cool (or
like one of the MIB) in her Ray Bans. Mia says that all she knows is
that White Blaze took off with no warning. She believes that something
evil has arrived.
----- In Shinjuku (the busiest portion of Tokyo,
known to us as Toyama in the series) the sun has a strange halo around it
and there is a massive heat wave. As if that wasn't enough there are
strange mirages appearing. Scenes of African Savannas and animals like
elephants and giraffes. The wind picks up speed and minor earthquakes
hit the area. The people get scared out of their minds and run for
their lives. Ryo looks up as the hoard of people run by and notices
the strange halo around the sun.
----- The police set up a barricade around the
area affected by the mirages. Ryo looks around and takes out his little
armor orb. All of a sudden what were once mirages become real, and
all the buildings are now covered in vines and other foliage. Ryo tries
to touch one of the vines but it is an illusion as well. He looks down
the street, which has now become a savanna and notices that someone is hopping
towards him. (Weird enough for you yet??)
----- A blurry figure strikes Ryo and he falls
down. His shirt is ripped and as he gets up he spits up some blood.
He runs into an alley as he tries to figure out who attacked him.
The blurry figure comes out of nowhere and whacks Ryo, knocking him
back into the street. The rest of his shirt is blown off (good treat
for all you female Ryo fans ;). Ryo gets ticked off and calls upon
his sub armor. Ryo is now able to get a clear view of his attacker.
Some kind of white haired African tribesman.
----- The mysterious attacker is Mukara (though
no one knows his name yet). He is wearing no armor and wields a gigantic
(as in as big as his own body) boomerang. Mukara chucks the boomerang
and it rips clear through an office building (as in sliced it strait though).
The office building comes crashing to the ground. He jumps up
and tries to hit Ryo but White Blaze knocks into him, ruining the attack.
----- In a bizarre twist, when Mukara sees White
Blaze he doesn't attack or even run. He just holds out his arm.
White Blaze promptly bites his arm. Mukara doesn't even flinch.
White Blaze backs off. Ryo (much like the rest of us) is completely
confused as to why White Blaze (who had a clear shot) doesn't attack this
punk.
----- Kento and Sai are sitting back and relaxing
on the beach listening to the radio. A reporter comes on and announces
that Shinjuku has been barricaded by the police because of all the strange
occurrences there. Kento is anxious to get to scene, but Sai doesn't
really want to go.
----- Mia and Rowen drive to Shinjuku. The
come across the barricade and try to talk their way though. Rowen decides
this is all taking too long. He just jumps over the police, their cars,
and the barricade and rushes into action.
----- Ryo and Mukara are running along the street
engaged in combat. Mukara knocks Ryo strait though the building.
As Ryo is falling he is caught by Rowen who has transformed into his
sub armor. Mukara jumps up to attack. Then from out of the blue
comes.... Sage! (no one really knows how he got there) who knocks Mukara
back. Mukara tosses his boomerang and it slices though yet another
office building. Now the Ronins are really pissed and they summon their
Armors.
----- So we've got 3 angry Ronins in full armor
and one crazy tribesman. By now we are all expecting the Ronins to
put the serious smack down on Mukara. However, Mukara is still beating
the Ronins.
----- Most of Shinjuku is scrap now. Kento
and Sai finally get there. Mukara is till beating the snot out of Ryo, Rowen,
and Sage. Kento and Sai armor up in hopes that they can help. Kento
attacks but Mukara just knocks him away.
----- Mukara jumps to the top of one of the standing
buildings. Rowen opens fire with his bow. Sai (who is becomes
a really annoying lamer throughout the whole OAV) yells at him for shooting
(lamer scene #2). He says how the mysterious attacker is unarmed.
Rowen tries to argue some sense into him by pointing out that the attacker
obviously isn't a normal person. Rowen lets off an "Arrow Shock Wave!"
and Mukara catches it and tosses it to the side.
----- Mukara begins to do the movement as if he
was calling armor. He yells something along the line of "Nobezuya,
Ijizuri, Zuamama, Runi" (just pronounce it phonetically, another important
note: Mukara is a man of very few words, about ten, and this is the
first time he actually says anything in the OAV, instead of his usual grunting
and screaming). Butterflies of energy fly all around and armor forms
around him. (Note: He isn't wearing sub armor, the armor has
formed directly on top of his skin). When we get a full view of the
armor we see that it looks just like Inferno. But its black!!!
----- With the summoning of the Black Inferno
all the armors start to glow (a definite sign that something important is
going on). The Ronins (much like the viewer) are completely terrified.
So what are they going to do, the same thing they do every time really
big trouble hits. Summon Inferno of course. Kento, Rowen, and
Sage give their powers to Ryo. Sai (lamer scene #4) doesn't want to.
----- The others look at him, but he just stands
there. Yes, you read right, he just stands there looking terrified.
Mukara motions to Ryo and he is pulled towards him. They are
sucked down some big black energy whirlpool thing. Sage jumps in after
them. All three of them vanish.
