(Legend of Inferno)
Part 3: Hashiri Hajimeta Yoroi (Mystical Armor that Begins to
Run)
----- Part three of the OAV begins with everyone
standing around looking stupefied that Mukara survived the combined attack
of the Wildfire and Halo armors. Mukara, wasting no words, starts
attacking. Sage looks at Mukara's reflection on his nodatchi and sees
the Black Inferno armor. Nadia yells at them not to fight and says
there is no point. Mukara could care less what the lady is babbling
about and continues fighting. Ryo seems to understand what Nadia is
saying and puts his swords in the ground, refusing to fight. Mukara
gets a cheap shot in and attacks Ryo. Mukara tosses his boomerang at
Ryo but sage jumps in the way and takes the hit. Doesn't seem to matter
as Ryo hits the dirt unconscious. As Sage struggles to get up he gets
really pissed off. He prepares to do his special attack but then he
realizes something. His fighting urge isn't coming from him but rather
from the influence of the Black Inferno. He drops his sword and Mukara
happily gets in yet another cheap shot knocking him out.
----- Mia, Rowen, Kento, and Yuli are preparing
to leave for Tanzania but Sai doesn't want to go (lamer part #9). Yuli
yells for White Blaze to come. Sai is sitting by yet another lake and
pondering the argument he got in earlier. White Blaze appears and nuzzles
(a disgustingly cute and touchy type of scene). Sai just looks sort
of scared and puzzled at the tiger (Sai will eventually stop being an annoying
loser eventually, I promise).
----- Everyone but Sai gets on the plane and heads
for Tanzania. They pay for safari tickets and head off to the village.
Yuli mentions to Kento that Mia would make a good wife. They
continue to head towards their destination. Kento complains about currency
exchange rates. He still complains about Sai (And I for one wouldn't
blame him. By this time the watcher should be completely fed up with
Sai and wishing his armor would go to someone, anyone else. Maybe someone
with some guts). Yuli makes Kento promise to stop calling Sai names.
----- They are able to find Mukara's village by
following a map (I didn't know villages were listed on maps, maybe its a
really important village). Mia translates the summoning chant for the
Black Inferno: "Evil Light, Beautiful Symbol, Sun and Mother Earth,
Empower Me!" Kento and Rowen check a rope bridge to make sure it is
safe to cross. As soon as they manage to get across the bridge, what
else happens but they are attacked by angry natives who cut the bridge.
Rowen and Kento activate their sub armor and jump down saving Mia and
Yuli. Rowen and Mia wind up falling into the river, while Yuli
and Kento fake it so they can escape from the tribesmen.
----- Yuli and Kento travel though the jungles
until they catch sight of Nadia. They watch her and notice that she
seems to disappear into a tree. Mia and Rowen climb out of the river
and find a secret cave under the village that is lined with pictures depicting
the legend of the Black Inferno.
----- Kento and Yuli follow Nadia through the
tree, which is a secret entrance to the village. There is some kind
of ceremony in progress. Ryo and Sage are laid out and the Black Inferno
is being carried by the villages to a spot near them. There is some
kind of interaction between the Black Inferno, the crystal formations around
the village, and the Ronin's armors. Ryo and Sage's forehead kanji
begin to glow. Mukara and Nadia look amazed.
----- Mia and Kento come out of the secret cave
and find a valley full of clusters of black crystals (like the ones that
appear when the Black Inferno is summoned). In a cluster of white crystals
Mia sees an image of the White Inferno. It is them revealed that this
is the location where both the White and the Black Armor were created. The
crystals suddenly start resonating (as strange crystal formations always
do) and try to entrap Rowen in energy. He breaks loose and escapes.
----- Back in Japan, Sai is still sitting at the
docks with White Blaze. Sai looks down in the water and sees the reflection
of, Black Blaze. When he looks back up White Blaze has transformed
to Black Blaze. Black Blaze suddenly teleports away.
----- Back at the village Kento decides to raise
some hell and jumps right into the middle of the ceremony. He challenges
Mukara to battle. Kento summons his armor and blocks Mukara's first
attack. He does get knocked down when the boomerang comes back, but
he doesn't care. Yuli notices something strange about Kento, his armor
seems to be darkening. All in all this fight rocks, it is really cool
seeing Kento go toe to toe with Mukara.
----- For no real reason Rowen fires an arrow
at Mukara's feet. Nadia says some deep cryptic stuff about how the
Ronins have hearts that are not controlled by their armor, and Mukara doesn't
have a heart. Thus he is completely controlled by the violent nature
of his armor.
----- Mukara easily knocks away Rowen's arrow.
Mukara then calls upon the Black Inferno. Its power begins to
influence Rowen's and Kento's armors. Yuli tries to warn them of this
but already darker versions of their armors are appearing. Finally
they realize that the urge to fight is coming from the Black Inferno and
their armors. In a painful process they release their armors. They
both collapse on the floor and the armors remain floating in mid air. Yuli
runs to Nadia and cries. Mukara falls to his knees laughing like a
maniac. Mia mentions to Yuli that the armors want to fight and that
the virtuous hearts of the Ronins won't let them. Thus the lack of
cooperation between the armors and their wearers.
----- Sai sits at the docks and contemplates the
actions of the armors. He decides that he finally has to do something
(its about damn time) and dives into the water to recover the armor orb.
