----- The story begins with Ryo, Sage (Seiji), and Sai (Shin) on a train. They are taking a vacation to the five lakes near Mt. Fuji. Sage is reading from a guidebook about the area. He reads a local legend about a lake that freezes mysteriously. Sai (Shin) says he wants to see that, and takes over reading the book. The three continue to talk about a few things. Ryo makes fun of Sai (Shin) because he doesn't like to eat fish because he can communicate with them (does this remind anyone of Aquaman?). Sai (Shin) gets depressed for a bit but sluffs it off. The train conductor announces a stop and the three get off the train.
----- The next day they wake up and enjoy the weather. Ryo mentions that it has been a long time since he has been in the mountains. Sai (Shin) responds that it is nice to see him feeling so happy again (remember this takes place after Saranbo but before Saber Strike so it was a rather depressing time for the Ronins). Ryo says that his father used to take photographs of places like this and learned many local legends, which he told Ryo. Sage (Seiji) reads from the guidebook again and doesn't believe the legend about the lake that mysteriously freezes. So the three of them head off to the lakes. After a good bit of hiking Ryo senses something strange. The three decide to investigate.
----- The three discover a frozen ship and suddenly a strong wind picks up. Sai (Shin) points out that the lack is freezing over. Not only is the lake freezing over but the three of them are being frozen too. And Sai (Shin) says he can't get the little armor orb out of his pocket (You ever wonder what would happen if they sat down and the orb rolled out of their pocket into the couch coushins? Happens all the time with loose change.).
----- In a cave under the lake the Warlord of Ice, Touyuki is thinking that he caught another bunch of helpless tourists. Dude couldn't be more wrong. When he finds out that he has captured three of the Ronins (Samurai Troopers) he isn't very impressed. They call their armor and Ryo threatens to waste his sorry ass. Touyuki still isn't impressed. Ryo, determined to beat some humility into him, attacks and gets beaten back bu\y the freezing wind that Touyuki can control. So Ryo decides to attack him again. Again he is beaten back. Even his Flare Up Now doesn't do jack against Touyuki. Touyuki mentions that whatever they toss at him he can counter. Touyuki attacks Sage (Seiji) with his special attack called "Kou Re Ha" and Sage (Seiji) starts to freeze. Sage (Seiji) tries to get Sai (Shin) to attack Touyuki. Sai (Shin) doesn't think it will do anything because Touyuki will just turn his water into more ice. Sage (Seiji) convinces him to try but it just makes matters worse. Sage (Seiji) is frozen now. Ryo and Sai (Shin) try to attack but Touyuki knocks them back. Touyuki then freezes Ryo with his Kou Re Ha.
----- So now we are down to Sai (Shin). He is scared out of his mind but fortunately he is also seriously pissed off. Touyuki taunts him saying that he is responsible for Sage (Seiji) and Ryo getting frozen. Sai (Shin) uses the great come back line of 'you can't be human.' Touyuki says that he has to freeze everything over in order to keep it beautiful and that Tokyo will be next. (That is some real twisted logic there.) Sai (Shin) points out that he is just being stupid. Touyuki says that while they managed to defeat Talpa (Arago) that doesn't necessarily mean they can beat anything else (but the good guys always win!). Sai (Shin) somehow gets a backbone (why couldn't he have one in OAV 2) and says that he was given his mystical armor to fight evil. Touyuki calls him a weakling (great insult there). Sai (Shin) does some reflecting about how his armor works and interacts with the other 4 armors and how he is the faith and trust (remember that is his virtue) that keeps the group together.
----- Sai (Shin) tells Touyuki that neither will he be used nor will his friends lives be taken by evil. Sai (Shin) attacks him with his Super Wave Smasher and somehow knocks back Touyuki. This worries Touyuki. Sai (Shin) says that he has never been up against him and that he will defeat him. Sai (Shin) uses his Super Wave Smasher while Touyuki uses his Kou Re Ha. Sai's (Shin) attack beats Touyuki's and sends him hurtling into the cave wall as well as conveniently freeing Ryo and Sage (Seiji).
----- Touyuki makes his great death speech saying that he was beaten and therefore can't remain in this world any more. And that he was only here because he was protecting this lake. (What the hell kind of reason for existence is that??) He bids farewell to the Ronins and then leaves. The three head home and comment on whether or not Touyuki is really dead.
----- And now we know why the lake was frozen.
