„Aoki Mitsue (Manga Artist)
Happy New Year. I'm going to be doing a lot of work this year. Check out my webpage!

„Akai Takami (Illustrator, Game Designer)
Happy New Year.
Here it is, 1999 at last.
Don't give in to Nostradamus's supposed prophecies.
Keep an eye out for us this year.

„Asari Yoshitoo (Manga Artist)
Here it is almost the 21st Century, and yet we have no signs of a moonbase or a toroidal space station or aircars or underwater cities. About the only thing that looks like a possibility is the annihilation of mankind in July, I guess. If nothing else, I'd like to see this become reality. This is a convoluted way of saying that I hope my CD-ROM comes out in the first part of the year.

„Anno Hideaki (Director)
Happy New Year.

„Imai Hizuru (Manga Artist)

„Otsuka Yasuo (Animation Director)
I enjoyed seeing my hobby of jeeps, rather than my regular line of work, become the source of an opportunity to do business with GAINAX last year.
I'm just a bit concerned, though, that it won't turn a profit. But it makes a terrific gift to the hundreds of jeep enthusiasts out there. I have a feeling that here in Japan, we're entering a period where fads and hobbies won't consist of people all marching in step from one thing to the next, but where a variety of things will all coexist. It'll be hard for businesses to capitalize on trends, but it will result in an increase in the degree of content within each area. This leads me to believe that, as a whole, Japan will become a nation with a high level of culture, like England, with 100,000,000 otaku. I envy the younger generation.

„Sadamoto Yoshiyuki (Manga Artist)

„Shintani Kaoru (Manga Artist)
This is Toshio.
As we are now in the Year of the Rabbit, and rabbits are known to jump, we're told that this will be a generally jumping year. I'm getting old, though, and fat to boot, so I doubt I'll be doing any jumping. Take care of yourselves.

„Suga Mariko (Director on Eva and Good Friends)
Happy New Year!
Last year, I was so busy I can't believe it. I tried to think of anything nice that happened last year aside from work...and nothing except work came to mind.
It seems like years since I started working at GAINAX. And I'll work my tail off this year too!
I've got some original ideas lined up for game development. We're making some terrific stuff, yes sir!
We've got five titles lined up, though I can't tell you what they're about.
How do you like them apples?
Anime is of course our main line, and we appreciate your support, but we're giving our all in game development too!
Please support us in our efforts to make games and other software which you will enjoy using for a long time.

Please show your support for GAINAX this year!

„Takeda Yasuhiro (GAINAX General Manager)
Happy New Year. (^ ^)
1998 was a year of public and personal reformations.
On the personal front, now I've got a daughter, and all that comes with that.
In other news, Japan's economy is still in the tank, people were poisoning one another, crimes committed by minors were on the increase, making for an overall bleak outlook last year. But it's in the past now (though we mustn't let the bad guys off the hook).
What's done is done, so let's wash it away!

I feel certain that 1999 will be the year when I get a hint of developments to come, both in business and private affairs.
I hope.(^ ^;;;;;;;;
Besides, this is the year in which Nostradamus supposedly prophesied the coming of the Great King and the Millennial Kingdom.

The 21st Century is only two years away.
Oh man! (TT;;;; I can't get over the idea of the future I've dreamed about actually arriving.
And my daughter is so cute. That's all I can say.
And I still have lots of work to do.
Both films and computer games alike.
I'm so busy, so busy.
Heh heh heh. There's also child-raising to be done.

So, fans, watchers, and the Great King, too: keep your eyes peeled for GAINAX.
We look forward to your support in 1999.
And here's hoping that you all have a good year before the end of the century.

„Tanaka Hirofumi (Novelist)
The...The fateful year has come.
Now...Now we just need to wait until July.
This...This fear, uncertainty and dread is more than I can stand.
I'm...I'm so nervous.
Are...Are we really going to be destroyed?
