Color page: Kusanagi and Yuzuriha on a tree with a lot of cats.
Teaser: Even though a cruel fate awaits, to protect what is important ...

Kamui with bat wings watching over Tokyo.
"To create a 'kekkai' to protect [what is important to me]."

P. 16
Fuuma, in T-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes, sat on top of a building with
little birds hovering over him. One landed on his extended finger. "A
'kekkai'? When the Dragons of Heaven roar, the Dragons of Earth answer, and
there are Seven Angels to break the Seven Seals."

P. 17
Fuuma put on his sunglasses. " 'Kamui', if you create a 'kekkai', I, too,
will gain new power." He leapt.

He flew with the birds in mid-air.
"Because that is your 'wish', 'Kamui'."

Under the Diet Building:
Hinoto: "How are you feeling?"
Kamui: "My wounds are mere scratches."

Yuzuriha knocked on the door.

Yuzuriha opened the door to find Subaru sitting on the bed, his right eye
bandaged.

Subaru: "There's no need to apologize to me."
Yuzuriha: "But if I don't, I'll go on feeling depressed."

Yuzuriha: "I like everyone. Kamui-san, Sorata-san, Arashi-san, Aoki-san,
Karen-san, and of course you, Subaru-san."
Inuki rubbed its head against Subaru's arm.

of the Sakurazukamori came to mind.

She held out her little finger, looking very serious, and Subaru sealed the
promise with her.
Yuzuriha (with a bright smile): "Thank you."

Subaru, petting Inuki, looked at her in surprise.
Yuzuriha: "You and Kamui-san really resemble each other. It's not the face,
just, you know."

Yuzuriha: "I'm happy. In Tokyo, I've met a lot of people who petted Inuki
for me."
She remembered the way she ran crying to her grandmother when she was small,
feeling lonely.

Subaru: "Huh?"
Yuzuriha: "Oh, nothing, nothing."

Daisuke: "He's the President of Toujou Pharmaceutical, the largest
pharmaceutical company in Japan." [Note: For some reason, there's a logo in
the background that looks suspiciously like the Star Trek com badge. ^_^]
Kamui: "What did Fuuma want with the president of a pharmaceutical company?"
Daisuke: "There were rumors that the Toujou Pharmaceutical 'has been using a
substantial budget to develop something somewhere underground' ..."

Kamui: "... develop something?"
Hinoto: "It seems that President Toujou's condition allows him to receive
visitors. Do you wish to see him?"
Kamui: "Yes. He might know something about Fuuma."
Hinoto: "I understand."

Hinoto: "Saiki-dono, please lead the way."
Daisuke: "Yes."
Kamui: "There's one more thing I want to know. You once told me, the
criteria of a Dragon of Heaven is the creation of 'kekkai'. Please teach me
how to create a 'kekkai'."

Hinoto: "I cannot teach you that. This knowledge is known only to the
Dragons of Heaven."
In the elevator, Daisuke turned to look at Kamui, who was deep in thought.

Daisuke (clearing his throat): "Seiichirou-san told me once how a 'kekkai'
is created."
Kamui: "Aoki-san...what did he say...?"
Daisuke: "He said he wasn't sure how it was done, but he was always thinking
of something important to him when he did it."

Kamui smiled a bit sadly.

to me were all enemies ... How are your wounds?"
Daisuke: "Oh, they healed a long time ago."

Daisuke (blushing): "... Here we are!"
Daisuke hurried through the crowd of startled politicians, with Kamui
trailing behind.

Kamui smiled.

Yuzuriha: "Oh, it's so late already. I'm sorry, Subaru-san, you must be
tired, and I stayed here for so long."

Yuzuriha put a rabbit stuff doll on the night stand. "This is a get-well
gift from me."

She left the ward.

Subaru held the rabbit in his hands, pondering her words.

Somewhere near the east exit of Shinjuku station.
Yuzuriha thought: "It's not yet the time of our meeting. Kusanagi-san always
arrives early and waits for me. This time I'm going to arrive early and wait
for him!"
She ran, and promptly bumped into someone. "Wah!"

The person caught her before she fell backwards.
Yuzuriha: "I'm sorry. Are you alright?"
That person was Fuuma.
Fuuma: "Oh, I'm alright. What about you? Did you hurt yourself?"
Yuzuriha: "Not at all!"

P. 47
Fuuma (smiling): "Good. Take care."
Yuzuriha thought: "Wow, he's so cool!"
Yuzuriha: "Kind of like Kusanagi-san!" She startled the crowd with her silly
grin.

Yuzuriha, looking at the departing Fuuma, thought: "Have I seen him
somewhere before?"
