The following is a Non-spoiler review of the X movie, written by Tomoko Kimura: Plot The movie starts out by Kamui coming back to Tokyo. Now that he's back, the DoH, and the DoE start to gather around him ... The entire movie takes place in about a day and a half, so it seems as if he comes back right before "the promised day." Visuals I was *really* impressed with the visual quality of the film. The characters don't look exactly like the way CLAMP draws them, but the drawings are very detailed, and they've retained the "CLAMP feel" in the way everything is drawn and coloured. The night scenes were breathtaking as well - they were so detailed I could tell immediately where the scenes were taking place. Music The music had an eerie mood, which matched the movie well. The music didn't get in the way of the movie like some anime BGM does, where they repeat the same themes over and over. I wouldn't want to listen to it when I'm feeling depressed, though. :-) CVs Kamui and Fuuma sounded right. Kotori-chan sounded wonderfully dreamy and spaced-out. Satsuki had so few lines, using Koto-chan (Mitsuishi Kotono) seemed a waste. And Sora-chan ... why, why, why can't they ever hire CVs who can speak natural Kansai-ben? As someone from the Kansai area, I'm tired of hearing all these "fake Kansai-bens" in animes. (I think the worst fake Kansai-ben I ever heard was Makoto in El Hazard. The dialect he was speaking does not exist in Kansai, period. Touji in Eva was pretty bad too. ^^;; ) General Comments I went to see this movie once with a fellow CLAMP fan, and another time with a friend who'd only seen the RE anime. The friend who hadn't read X was confused about who was who. The characters appear and disappear pretty quickly, so review the manga before you see the movie.
