Urusei Yatsura on the internet doesn't end with Tomobiki-cho. There are some other fan sites and picture archives that you can visit. If anyone sees a site that deserves to be here but it isn't, then please tell me. I'll then add it to the list as long as it has a fair amount of Urusei Yatsura material.
Last Updated on August 16th, 1998.
- AnimEigo UY Liner Notes
AnimEigo, who (tentatively) release the anime in America have some interesting info on their corporate
web site. This page specifically has the first 10 liner notes from the subtitled television volumes.
Don't forget to check out the liner notes for the Movies and the OVAs linked from this page. Aside from
important cultural notes, you can also find information about the series creators and lyrics to a large number
of UY songs.
- The World of Urusei Yatsura's Lum (Netherlands)
This is another competent Urusei Yatsura site. Perhaps the second largest UY site next
to Tomobiki-cho. This one tends to focus primarily on Lum rather than the
series as a whole. It's a very nice and complete site,
but there's little original material. The bulk of its information and
graphics were swiped from Tomobiki-cho and other UY sites. It seems more
intent on being a complete collection of UY resources (which it is) than trying
to introduce something new to the internet. While it's mostly built on other people's
writings and files, there are some rare pictures and files to see. It's updated more
regularly than most UY sites out there which is encouraging. UY pages have a nasty tendency to stagnate
and then fade into obscurity.
- The Secret of Urusei Yatsura
A page created by longtime Japanese fan Norikazu. Having been a
fan for so long and involved with the original UY fan club Nori knows much about
Urusei Yatsura that very few American fans are aware of. His page is full of
interesting pieces of info, audio and pictures that give further insight into
this series. It is a Japanese site, but luckily he has an English version of the
page. This site is still under much construction and so don't be surprised that half
of the pages don't work. But as Nori keeps updating, this is turning out to be one
of the most facinating Urusei Yatsura pages out there.
- Urusei Yatsura
A good information site which is only one section of a site which has info on all of Takahashi's
manga as well as Kosuke Fujishima. This one concentrates mostly on the manga series comparing the
Viz publications with the original Japanese editions.
- Michael's Urusei Yatsura Info Page
This page has manga summaries of the English version of Urusei Yatsura as published by Viz
Comics. A handy reference guide for people looking to buy the Viz graphic novels.
- Lum's Bodyguards Maximum Cadre Society - Okinawa Branch (Japanese only)
A site with many tidbits of interest to UY fans. Pictures, music, movies and various information can
be found throughout the site. Of particular interest is the page that features all sorts of
audio recordings in Real Audio format. Some are seemingly taken from small UY concerts and appearances
during promotional events while others are sound clips taken from a UY video game. The most enjoyable
part of the site to me were the many Real Video clips that can be viewed including commercials, TV titles
and clips from the TV show (often featuring Megane).
- Pagina di Lamu (Italian)
One of a few Lum pages in Italy where the show seems to have fairly widespread popularity.
This particular site looks nice and has some pictures that even I haven't seen
in a while. The music information is thorough even with MP3 sound files included.
I can only make out some Italian so I don't know how good the information is, but it seems
to cover all of the bases. Out of all the Italian UY pages, this one is the
most complete I've seen to date.
- Lum's Page
Now moved to a new location. It features some
pictures and basic info. It also has many MP3 music files as well which I
know many fans have been demanding. I haven't been able to get into this site when
I first tried so I'll have to check again later if it's still up.
- Johannes' Urusei Yatsura page
This page contains some information such as the AnimEigo liner notes, links plus some MP3 but right now
it's very light on content. He has however started his own UY Mailing list and you can try to join
here.
- The Urusei Yatsura Web Ring
The main page for a web ring specializing in Urusei Yatsura web pages.
- The REAL Number 01 AniBabe of all time: Lum from Urusei Yatsura
A fond acquaintance of mine, Rossman rates the top 10 favorite anime women based on a panel of
100 voters, and of course the obvious choice was picked as #1. He goes way behond
the usual anime top 10 pages since he delves deeply into the character of Lum, explaining why she's such a sensational character. It's a
very attractive site as well. I like the cute electrified "Lum" header at the top of the page.
- Urusei Yatsura Brazillian Shrine
A pretty cool Brazillian site about Urusei Yatsura in Portugese.
Even if you don't understand it, it's still worth a look. It does uses a lot of Tomobiki-cho's words
and just translates them. It also uses many of my pics. But I recall giving the creator permission
to do so therefore I guess I can't complain.
- Lum's World
An attractive site with many UY visual goodies. It has an image gallery, painting applet,
desktop enhancements and postcards.
- Ran: The Delicate Flower of Urusei Yatsura
A page all about a tragically misunderstood girl named Ran done wrong by the hands of the evil Lum (Yeah, right). Some nifty screen shots grace the page and there's a text file Ran Speculation at the bottom of the page that brings up some good points. Not a lot to see, but worth a quick visit.
- Chipster's Sakura Homepage
A shrine to Sakura, as if the title didn't give it away. As with most shrines
it tells a bit about the woman of adoration along with some images to look at. Much of it is a FAQ page of sorts with explainations of the various questions surrounding Sakura's life.
- Brenten's Lum Page
This one's been around for awhile and hasn't changed much in the last few years. The UY content here is mostly images of some of the creator's collection of Urusei Yatsura merchandise. Info about UY is rather sparse.
- Lum en la Luna
A Lum page in Spanish with some information, gallery and links.
- G.U.R.P.S. Anime Characters
Contains GURPS (a role playing game system) character pages using various anime personalities, many of which are from Urusei Yatsura. Gives you an idea of how the characters might measure up if placed in an RPG setting.
- Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer
A spanish language review of the second UY movie. I believe there's also a review of movie 1 somewhere else on the site.
- Takaholics Anonymous - Unofficial Rumiko Takahashi Fan Club Page
Joe Rispoli's page which has many rare pieces of Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 fan art as well as some info on the UYAPA.
- Tim Drage's Urusei Yatsura Page
A curious page that tries to be different by only posting weird stuff. Only a few things of note at the moment,
but I'm sure it'll get weirder as time goes on. But it can't accomplish this goal without your support.
- Kotatsu-neko's Page - English Version (Japan)
A Japanese page about Rumiko Takahashi's works in general. It has some useful information about Urusei Yatsura sprinkled throughout the pages.
- Torin's Urusei Yatsura Homepage
Has some information on the series and links to other related pages.
- Matt's Lum Page
A nice UY information page part of Matt's anime review site. All of the
writing is surprisingly original which is rare since most sites tend to copy from each other. Because of it's
originality this is one of my favorite UY pages.
- Darling!
A shrine to Ataru and all of the other members of Urusei Yatsura. This page has
descriptions of many of the main characters of the show as well as a fan poll to give
the UY fan community a voice.
- Hurtle Hamster's Urusei Yatsura page
Retells the story of the first episode.
- Aoshima's Urusei Yatsura Music Page
Aoshima has taken it upon himself to place most of the UY Complete Music Box 15 CD set on his site in
MP3 audio format. In other words there's more UY music than you can shake a stick at. However this site
has been out of commission for a while. If it stays down any longer I might have to remove this link.
- Urusei Yatsura Mp3 Box (Korean)
Another good site where you can find many Urusei Yatsura vocal songs in MP3 format. This one features a total
of 41 fab songs.
- Lum Anime Album: Urusei Yatsura Top Page
Although it's been well over a year since an update with over 320 UY pics, this site has a lot of rarely seen images with a lot of old favorites. The biggest problem here is that it's terribly slow and unresponsive. Many of the images are repeated as well. There are a lot of galleries of screen shots from many of the movies, TV episodes and OVAs. Yet they're all shots of Lum, ignoring shots featuring the rest of the cast. Still the rarity of some of the images makes this site worthwile to visit.
- Ultimate Animanga Archive: Urusei Yatsura
One of the more popular graphic-based general anime image archives, this section has
the creator's selected Urusei Yatsura pics. Not really a comprehensive collection of UY images, but what it does feature are pretty good. Still, nothing you can't already find elsewhere.
- SUNET FTP site: Urusei Yatsura (Sweden)
Pretty much mirrors the files that used to be found at the deceased (more like severely downsized) tcp.com site. This primarily features images, scripts and general info that have been around since before the web.
- Amber Anime Archive: Urusei Yatsura Images
I like this site because it's made up of a lot of high quality images personally scanned
by its creator. I've been able to find a lot of great images from hard to find series which aren't well known in America. However the UY section doesn't have a lot
of scans since only three items are featured.
- Miss Lum Image Gallery
Another small collection of selected Lum pictures.
