The pentultimate duel between Van and Allen was key-frame animated by Yutaka Nakayama, the same Sunrise artist behind Hitomi de Tyu. He is also the same key-frame animator behind the fluid Escaflowne-Scherazade fighting sequence in the opening credits which foreshadowed this episode's scene.
