the shadows made it dark by depthless me/monoxide child/ "Won't you marry me...marry me, my love." He looks up into her visionary eyes and kisses them silently from down there. "I had hoped..." and he trails off as tears flow down. "I wish I could have given you another different world but I couldn't..." He is still looking and waiting for that answer. She remains in silence and turns elsewhere. Her onyx eyes don't want to meet their match in a silent battle of love. "I love you, Rei." That was all she wanted to hear, all she wanted to listen for. Now she was willing to answer him. "No, Jade...No..." His face breaks into remorse, almost as if his entire heart, the main system of blood had been broken piece by piece and thrown like a game. His lips trembled and he closes his eyes in tears. She chooses the dramatic exist of cruelty and walk away through the door not even closing them. Jade, weak with congestive coughing stutters up to the door and chases after her. It's like he lost his mother and was calling for her, wailing like a poor duckling nobody would listen to or protect from the monsters. She broke his heart, she broke his soul... everything he was willing to suffer for. Now there was nothing of existence worth the pain to live for. And betrayed...no not betrayed, this man felt anything else but betrayed. He loved her that's why he would let her fly as she willed herself to move to. He stops calling and sits on the sidewalk as the rain pours down like a shower. The face of a stubborn little boy who resembled an angel of some innoncence looks up from there and cries with the rain, weeps with the sorrow of his lifetime. He gives up for now. "Jade...please don't leave your bed, you are getting weaker and weaker..." He looks up seriously and a bit coldly but he still smiles at her like a mischeivous little boy. "I won't Mina, I promise you." "Thank you." She smiles in return and wraps his blanket around him. She walks to the fireplace and sits in front of it as if she was counting flames. He stares at her from a far. He studies her in observant surveilliance. And Jade wants to cry because Mina was here with him and she would let him cry and then come back to comfort him like a big sister. "Are you going to cry Mina?" he asks out of nowhere. His eyes turn to look at her head of golden hair. There is only the sound of fire crackling and rain pounding on the roof. "Jade, please don't scare me like that anymore." She turns around with tears in her eyes but she smiles quivering. "We can turn the world around again like we always have. We can cheat!" "Mina, I love you too. Just don't cry so much, you're too beautiful to cry and be sad." He grins softly and throws the blanket off, jumping out of bed to run to her. He sits next to her and hugs her. "Ok?" She laughs. Surely, he was more of a brother to her than she could ever hope for, a family sort of love that even she couldn't hold onto in her real family. "I love you too, Jade." She slips a kiss to his forehead and returns the embrace as she cries on his shoulder, letting free of all her sorrow and regrets... everything she was contaminated with. And on the other side, on her shoulders, he lets his own tears fall. "Marry me..." he repeats in a gentle tone. "Marry me and I will fold the world under your wings..." He laughs and smiles. "No, Jade...No." Smiles that breaks into glasses of tears that breaks into sadness...futons of pearls that he has founded in the sea under his ground of level. "But i love you...I'm dying and just once...heh...once..." She looks up to his eyes and she is expresionless. "No, Jade, No," he says softly. "You don't have to say anymore. I understand Rei and I love you too. Your eyes. They never lie." She is packed and dressed. The cab awaits outside, residing on the curb of the street labeled "Blu avenue" right next to a streetlamp. She starts to leave, to walk down the stairs slowly, savoring every moment of the smells of the roses that decor the halls. Outside the day has turn dark and gloomy but the sky was speaking of blue. Rainy days weren't going to be over for long and she was silently glad. As the trunk is open, the cabdriver tosses her belongings into it and slams it shut as she walks to the passenger seat behind. As she appraoch it, a shadow meets her from behind and she whirls around to face the sad face of her best friend who was now shrouded in mystery. "I love him, Mina," was all she said and she steps into the cab, slams the door and the cab drives off. Mina watches as the cab fades away into the horizon and the tears start again. Her knees shiver and she falters on the hard cold cement ground, under the streetlamp whose flare has just been sparked. It was just her and the light she could never really see or feel. "I wish I had someone Rei, someone who loved me as much as he loved you. You always took so much for granted...but you've always followed your heart... so you were the strongest." The lamp dies and she huddles in one breath. [My heart is breaking.] Rei cries now that she far from his sickly breaths. [No Jade, No. I won't marry. I will not marry you. I love you too much. I can't let the icy claws of death consume you and take you away from me. Marriage is a commitment and I can't live if I married you. I don't want to smile one night and only one night for the rest of the decades.] She doesn't try to wipe the tears away or swallow the pain with her armour. The cabdriver looks at the review mirror and looks away. Somethings are left better without words. [Mina, it isn't all about pride. I know I am being cruel but I can't help it. I don't want to die alone without him. I'd rather walk out forever than watch on for an eternity that I lack patience for.] The airport is nearing, her destination closing in on her and her past is going to be buried in the Parting Fields of Angels. [I'm sorry Jade. I loved you, and Yes I will marry you. Forever just not now.] Inside his small house, there is a cool wind that moves in like the strength of the tsunami and blows out the candle because he had woken up to open it so he could count the stars. Just now, he is not in sight and there he was in the front of his house, crying solidly like a man who has reached death like a love he couldn't stop. "I loved her." And Mina, "Don't be sad, you're too beautiful for that." She stands aloof at the head of the fence watching helplessly. The night has ended, the morning was beginning and death and disease was a war that they saw neverending. So they must if they could let fate run through the threads, slicing in halves their hopes they've built. Once in all, everything must end even if, they don't wake up to see tomorrow.
