Wedding Belles

Well, I went to my sister's wedding. Okay, so now that was several weeks ago. Heh, I REALLY have to change this to be rant of the MONTH. Oh well, as far as I know noone reads these things anyway. Put it on my list of "things to do when I get the motivation to do a whole bunch of things I should do". Oh, in other news, I am now the number four hit on GOOGLE FIRST PAGE for "Danielle Faye" let's keep it that way! Thanks to everyone who cares.

Anyway, so we went to Minnesota. First off our plane was delayed by a couple hours to our first connection because of weather in Denver. Pretty smooth ride once we got in the air though. Second connection I got really bad ear pains. I hate ear pains. I went to the doctor for it but she gave me nose drops. I told her I got nosebleeds...so she said try them anyway. I did. I got nosebleeds. I stopped taking them. Apparently I have slightly dysfunctional eustachian tubes. Blech...I think I've explained this all before. Well I DON'T care. My poor ears...they felt like they were being stabbed with a big jagged barbed dagger. And no chewing gum, yawning, or music (which I'm supposed to have off by the time this happens anyway) doesn't help. And you're NOT supposed to hold your nose and blow hard. The last thing I need is blown eardrums. Of course it already feels like they're blowing apart....

I have a sore wrist again, don't know why.

Touchdown is at some 10pm local time. We stay at the hotel we stayed at last time we were in Nebraska. Nice little place, sleep inn at the airport I think. Had a nice filling breakfast in the morning and headed out for Minnesota.

Ever notice the weird things you notice when driving and changing states? All of a sudden my husband was complaining about the length of the freeway merge lanes, which tipped me off, and then I saw a "Think" sign, and then I was SURE we were in South Dakota. Things you notice...

Well, anyway, got into Pipestone, first thing we do is go have some nice chinese food. Then we go see my parents. I got severely overwhelmed almost immediately. I'm so used to life just being William and me and QUIET. But there's like ten people in the house and the first thing that happens is I go to the bathroom and someone scares my mom so bad she tries to break the door down. Meh. Well, we help them make mints, and fix my dress and whatnot until rehersal time. Run through rehersal twice, go to Ihlen for the groom's supper, get harassed for ordering a Fuzzy Navel, go get ice cream...the Dairy Queen in Pipestone will make Dip and Crunch cones for you, yum. And then we go home to make MORE mints and tie little stupid ribbons on bells. Actually we had to take two boxes of bells with us to our hotel room.

Morning of the wedding, we're still TIRED, I go have breakfast at the buffet, I noticed the whole time we were there that I was eating way too much but not feeling as full as I normally do. I think it might be because I wasn't drinking enough water and my stomach is usually used to having a quart of water in it all the time. If that sounds wonky Email me 'k?

ASU can bite me by the way.

The wedding was nice, I stood up tall, held flowers, straightened my sisters skirt, and tried nobly NOT to laugh at her licking her flowers. Failed miserably...but TRIED. She was LICKING her flowers! Licking the pollen off the insides and trying different ones and nibbling them like the ENTIRE time. It was weird.

Nice reception, but kinda boring, I didn't get to sit by William, but he sat near enough to my table so I could kinda harass him. My sister carried on the honorable grape throwing tradition that I guess I started...it's a long story. We toss grapes at weddings I guess.

Wedding dance was dull, I did a good deed and danced with my brother. Tried a Gin and Tonic, it didn't suck. Well, it kinda didn't suck, I think anything where you can taste the alcohol tastes like hospitals must. Oh there was a freaky dance where it happened that all the guys were dancing with guys, and all the girls were dancing with girls. We called it the gay dance. We're stupid.

Went to the hotel, slept, got up too late, got a family picture taken for the directory even though I'm not a church member there anymore. Tried to figure out how to list the husbands without it getting wonky (word of the week there) Ended up listing them with the daughter they belong to otherwise it'd be age order which is Mine, sister's, me, sister, brother, sister. Doesn't quite look right that way. Then we watched my sister open presents. We gave her a check, not really personal, but we liked checks when we got married. It was a nice check too, it was the second biggest one we got. Well, how many times does your sister get married? I mean really, what'd they expect we'd do? Besides I forgot to get her a birthday present.

Had chinese food again, ate enough that I'd normally have gotten sick. Drove BACK to Omaha, plane delayed going out of Denver, nasty turbulence. Got too cranky, went home slept slept slept. Vegetated for a week and a half, lost track of time, realize now that school is about to start for the summer. Go me.

That's the story of my life as of late.

Oh and all the restaurants in Denver closed at 9 on the dot. And you know what I have to say about that?

Freaks.

Link of the Week: Ark of the Covenant though it has a slightly unattractive website (to my discerning eye, ha ha ha), is really a nice mud. The people are pretty fun. Mostly stock world, kinda wonky sometimes. Nice growing mud feel, stuff is still being changed and worked on and considered. Please be civil if you come on.
