I am SO obs0l33t!

I love the older games, there's really not that many newer games on my want list. Warcraft 3, Heroes of Might and Magic 4, maybe icewind Dale 2 or Neverwinter Nights, nothing excessive though. I don't have a kick ass machine, it's a AMD 800 +/- with 256 RAM 16mb shared onboard video, I purposefully use slow CD Rom drives so older games don't run too fast.

I guess I just don't like new games, except for ones that give my 3/4 overhead view (Diablo, BG) I hate first person shooters because they make me motion sick. I hate getting motion sick and then fragged. Fraggage bad. Sim games are ok, I haven't played the SIMs, I like Roller Coaster Tycoon but I got to the last scenarios pretty fast. I don't know, I guess I'm just not that much of a gamer.

At least I'm not still playing final fantasy like someone I know...ahem...

Actually right now I'm using my computer to emulate a playstation so I can play Serial Experiments Lain, for which I paid too much. It's pretty interesting, I'll probably have a site up for it before too long. It's pretty bizarre, possibly even weirder than Lain the series, as unlikely as that sounds.

I have a nintendo emulator too, I was playing Dragon Warrior 2 for a while...Sega Genesis emulator to play Shining Force. Whilst the Dreamcast (itself already slightly relicish) sits in the other room undisturbed. Okay so we don't have enough games for it. Well, whatever.

You know one of these days I have to finish Ultima 7 Serpent Isle...I've started that game like 5 times and never finished it. You gotta love an old CRPG with kinky lesbian sex. Oh yeah I just heard some ears perk up. Well, I hopes they was ears anyway. Yeah, there's a scene in Ultima where they decided that instead of writing a different scene for the female players they just changed the dialog slightly. So a woman seduces you and gets you thrown in a death dungeon. They have words for women like that, but I don't feel like saying them.

And by the way why did they feel the need to make two ultima 7s? There's Ultima 7 the Black Gate and Ultima 7 Serpent Isle. They look different enough, and the plot is so different, why didn't they just go ahead and make it Ultima 8? It'd be cooler than Pagan was anyway. And WHAT was with getting rid of the female avatar option? Hellloooo??? Ultima Serpent Isle (despite the lesbian thing) was wonderfully equal, and then they just throw it ALL out the freakin' window! Bah.

You know Baldur's gate is bad that way too, you play as a man you get like 4 girls fawning over you, or is it 3? Well anyway...you play as a girl you get one choice. One and one only. It's not really fair, especially considering as how there are quite a few more male characters you can play and Yoshimo is SO much cuter than Anomen, or whatever his name is anyway. Also only humans and elvish mixes can get action, how messed up is that?

Anyway, uhm, what's going on? Errr...oh yeah I don't have a recipe for you, I was gonna scan some cool christmas drawings I did but my scanner is broken. It's making evil vwhirr clunkaclunka Vreee! noises. Bleh. On the bright side it was only a $20 (after rebate) scanner so it's not a BIG loss, but all I can find to replace it are $40 scanners. I guess at least it'd be USB. That's gotta be faster/better...at least I'll be able to hook the printer right up to the machine without daisy-chaining it.
