Ever since Piccolo came into the world he had one mission. To conquer the world so that chaos had total control and war was a must. And to anniliate the Saiya-Jin named Son Gokuu. The reason why he HATED Gokuu was, when Gokuu was but a boy he killed Piccolo's father. As for this Piccolo had no child just plots and scemes to wipeout Gokuu and his familly. Piccolo had noone to look to noone to defend or teach him to be a warrior. So he relied on himself in the wilderness everyday getting stronger till the day he meets Gokuu, to hopefuly kill him as Gokuu did his father.

About at the age of 3 he entered the "Tenkaichi Budokai" under the nickname "Ma Junior" his sceme to kill Son Gokuu and then take over the world and follow the fottsteps as his father. He didn't under estimate Son Gokuu as his father did which may have been his fathers flaw. Piccolo worked out every step of his plan. Nearing the end of the tournament it looked like Piccolo had total control of the match but he like his father under estimated Gokuu a little which was his defeat as Gokuu beat him.

After losing he feared Gokuu would kill him. Gokuu showing his kind side and good nature gave him a senzu, fully restoring his power. This enraged Piccolo deeper for the thought of Gokuu pitting him. "How dare he take pitty on me...he wil pay!"

Five years later a new enimie arrivied forcing Piccolo and Gokuu to team up. Even the thought of seeing Gokuu without killing him made his stomach shurn but it was a must. During the fight Piccolo found the potential the Gokuu's son Gohan carried and they may benefiet him in the next battle against Nappa, and Vegeta and possiblie Gokuu.

He took Gohan away to train him and as the training went on he grew attached to Gohan not wanting to admit it he started to treat Gohan like his own. When he saw Gohan was introuble against a great enemie he could no longer watch as he sacrificed himself to save Gohan. This was the turning point between Gokuu and Piccolo, instead of enemies they became great friends. Of course they never admited it.

In the upcoming fight with Freeza, Piccolo merged with the Namek warrior named Nail, and gained not only power, but knowledge of his true homeworld. Even though Nail promised not to let his own personality be in conflict with Piccolo's, in actuality, the two became more merged than Piccolo had realized.

Finally, in the fight against the cyborgs, he decided that his only chance of being able to defeat them was to merge with his father's counterpart. As Piccolo Daimaou was the evil side of Kami-sama, they were essentially the same person, but with completely different personalities. After seeing Cell, Kami-sama decided that it was finally time to allow for the re-merging of the two personalities, changing Piccolo and Kami-sama back to the person they were before the split occurred.

The re-merging finally made Piccolo whole, as he should've been. It also gave him the true power that he should have had (actually greater, since he also merged with Nail). As Kuririn said, "If Gokuu is to be considered a Super Saiyajin, then Piccolo must be a Super Namekseijin."

Even before re-merging, Piccolo was someone whom the other Z Warriors depended upon. Not only was Piccolo one of the best fighters, he had a great wealth of knowledge and wisdom. In the absense of Gokuu, most of the other Z Warriors looked to Piccolo. After re-merging with Kami-sama, both Piccolo's power and wisdom increased greatly. This was one of the reasons why Majin Buu chose to absorb Piccolo.

In the end, Piccolo developed into a very different person from what he started out as. Piccolo chose to stay at Kami-sama's temple, teaching Dende how to be a good Kami-sama, as well as to be out of his previous solitude.
