The Holy Sword : Book I of V Stone Breaker

Prologue

“You think we’re going the right way Lina?”
Lina Inverse turned around, slight annoyance
portrayed on her face.
“Of course Gourry. I have have knack for
finding treasure.” “Didn’t you just follow the bandits to their
hideouts and then blast them?” Gourry asked.
    Lina bigsweated. “Um...occasionally.”
The other four sighed. Zelgadis looked at the
thin sorceress. “I think you’re just leading us
in a wild goose chase. The Holy Sword, not
the Syraag one, is supposed to be only a myth.”
Amelia looked up. “Hey, that’s right! What
is the story behind it?”
“Its a long story which dates back to the
war of the gods and demons,” Lina started,
“Over a million years ago, a young god forged
the Holy Sword and used it to fight Shabernigdo
and his troops. The sword was successful but in
the process, was cast down to earth in a flaming
hail of fire, stone, wind and ice. They say that the
sword is buried beneath a monolith and will rise
up to be pulled from its resting place by a
powerful person.”
“And you’re just chasing a myth?” Zelgadis
asked incrediously.
Lina stared at him. “You do realize that people
said the Philosopher Stone was a legend?”
    “Many times.” Zel grumbled.
“Miss Lina, do you even know where we
are?” Sylpheel asked curiously.
“Sure I do!” Lina fell silent.
    “Well?” the others chorused.
“I think we’re somewhere in the new world,
that much is certian.”
Everyone facefaulted. Lina turned around, a
grin on her face. “Don’t worry! It’s not like
something is going to hap...Aaaaa!”
Suddenly, a swirlling portal of energy opened
below Lina, swallowing her up. Gourry yelled her
name and jumped in after her. Amelia, Zelgadis
and Sylpheel leapt in after the others as the
swirlling portal closed behind them.

Falling. That’s how you could discribe the
passage down the crossing through the wavy
black and blue backgrounds. Falling, with a
feeling that you are being bended all over.
Twisting as you fall around without the feeling
you are actually falling.
Then comes the feeling of crossing the sudden
event horizon as you approach a deep black circle
of darkness. And then...

Chapter I : A princess and a sorceress

Five Guardia police sat in the meal hall,
playing a rousing game of Poker. Every so often,
one would point out behind the others and
say something stupid like, “Look! A Monster!”
or, “Look! Lavos!” or somethings as stupid as,
“Look! Its Madonna!” This was always an
attention grabber. It also gave a chance to take a
peek at the others cards.
One of them slapped down his cards.
    “Full house! Beat that!”
Another man, slightly lankier in build and his
face hidden behind a low brimmed cap, eyed him
with large blue eyes. “Really,” he drawled in a
slightly tenor voice. He put his cards down.
“I only got two pair. A pair of ones, and another
pair of ones.”
The other four guards facefaulted. The cards
were pairs all right : Pairs of four aces! The guard
laughed broadly as he scooped the G’s into a large
overflowing bag. He stood and shouldered it.
“Thanks for the game guys. Tommorow at 9:00
PM if you feel like it.” he chuckled and exited
the room.
The other four sat in shellshocked silence.
Wordless glances were stolen at each other.
    “He...”
    “Beat....” “Us...”
    “Effortlessly.”
    “D’OH!”

Upstairs, the same young man crept into
the room, owned by Princess Nadia. Once
inside, he whipped off his jacket to reveal
a shapely figure. Princess Nadia removed
her cap and started to laugh. She laughed
and laughed. Unbenownst to most of the
people in the castle, Nadia, or as she liked
to be called, Marle, was an ace poker player
and quite a club hangout person. This
was meaning that she had to sneak out of
the castle by climbing out her window by
the ivy covered hangers under her window.
Luckily for her, no one had discovered
her nightly poker playing routines and her
nightclubing sprees. Heck, even her father
didn’t know that she had purchased a outfit
which consisted of a tight belly shirt, and a
leather skirt, much like Tifa Lockheart’s from
FFVII.
She laughed and laughed as she stripped
for bed.
“Oh man! That was classic!” she said
between bursts of supressed laughter. She
slipped on her customary sheer nightgown
and jumped into bed, removing her hair
tie, letting her blond locks cascade over her
shoulders. She laid back and pulling her
covers over her neck and turned on her side.
“I wonder what they’ll do when they actually
find out what I’ve been doing for the last
four weeks.” Marle grinned a feral smile. “At
least they get a loan from me every so often.”
She sniggered and fell asleep.

A series of knocks were announced in the
front door of Guardia castle. The Chancellor
walked down the steps and opened the door.
A young girl with fire red hair, a red and yellow
outfit with a cape and oversized shoulder pads
with two gems in each pad. A thin sword hung
from her left hip. Large ball-like earrings hung
from each ear, and a black headband was worn
under her hair.
    “Excuse me...um..”
    “Chancellor.”
Lina nodded. “Chancellor. I am Lina Inverse,
and...this sounds difficult but, I don’t know
where I am.”
“Really..” The thought, ‘She’s crazy’ was
running through his mind like an runaway
horse.
“Yes, um, I was walking with some of my
friends when a swrilling blue thingy appeared
right underneath me. I fell and I think the rest
followed behind. But...I don’t know where
they landed, or where the hey I am.”
    “Swirlling...blue circle?” The Chancellor’s
eyebrows bobbed in realization. “Come in.
We have an expert on your...condition.”

“Your Highness, Princess Nadia, we have
a situation.”
Nadia leaned back in her chair, a relaxed
poise displayed on her body. “What is it
Chancellor?”
    “We have a Gate Traveller.”
    Nadia’s jaw dropped in astonishment.
“Nani?!”
The Chancellor nodded and stepped aside.
Lina Inverse stood behind him. Marle looked
at her. She could feel something was more to
the girl besides her outfit. “May I ask who
you are?”
“Lina. Lina Inverse from the Kingdom of
Sayruun. Pardon my saying so but I think
I’m not on my world anymore.”
Nadia blinked several times. “Am I hearing
you correctly? You’re not on the correct
world? How’s that possible?”
“Maybe the blue portal transported me here.”
“But the Gates are only for time travel.”
    “Nani?!”
“It’s true. I’ve travelled time. But after we
destroyed Lavos, the Gates closed permantly.”
Nadia stood. “We should go to see Lucca.
She’s the expert on the Gates and the
Epoch.”
“I guess so. Thank you princess.”
    Nadia groaned. “Call me Marle.”

    “He’s waking up.”
Gourry heard a musical soprano voice
speak above him. A harsh light penetrated his
closed eyes. “Augh.” he moaned. He tried to
open his eyes. A female figure was standing
over him in his blurred vision. “Sylpheel?”
he asked.
“The young man hath awakened and called
a name your highness. Though I doth not
e’en heard a name such as he called.” The
other voice was low and gutteral with a
midieval accent used in most upper class
people.
Gourry’s vision cleared to see a youngish
looking woman in a long dress and a frog
faced man on the other. Wait a second,
it is a frog. Gourry shrugged. Big whoop.
He sat up in the bed, the cold washcloth
falling from his forehead.
    “Where am I?”
“The Kingdom of Guardia, ciara 600 AD.”
Queen Leene answered. “May I ask who you
are?”
“Gourry Gabriev. I’m a Travelling Mercenary
out to destroy the Mazoku which roam the
world.”
“Gourry Gabriev? I hath not heard of such a
name in Guardia. tell me young sir, do you hath
have travelling companions?”
“Um...” Gourry thought hard, “ yeah, sir..?”
“Mine name is Frog, though once I bore the
name Glenn. But Frog hath suited mine form
well. This is Queen Leene of the Royal Court
of Guardia, married to King Guardia of hence,
fifteen years ago.”
“Um, Guardia, you say Sir Frog? I was
travelling with four other people. One is
Lina Inverse, a powerful Sorceress who I’ve
been travelling with for quite some time,
Princess Amelia Will Tess De Sayruun,
Daughter of Prince Philoniel De Sayruun,
Zelgadis, a part man, golem and demon,
who is a magic user as well, and Sylpheel,
my old friend. I don’t know where they are.”
“Well Sir Gourry, the knights of the square
table found you up in the Donderas Mountians,
unconcious. You have been asleep for over
a week.”
“A week?! Oh man!” Gourry then looked
around. “Where’s my sword?”
“The sword which hath accompanied you
on your arrival into this area is perched in
the corner of this room.”
Gourry let out a breath he didn’t
remember he was holding. Then again,
he rarely remembered anything. “Good,
I’d hate to be apart from my sword.”
Leene blinked. “What is the special
attatchement of your sword to you, if I
can ask?”
“Oh, the sword is a family treasure. The
weapon is special. Can I have it?”
Frog reached over and gave it to him.
Gourry thanked him. Pressing a secret latch
on the sword, the blade dropped into the
scabbard. “Mind standing back?”
The two stepped back. Gourry held out the
sword and took a breath. “Light Come Forth!”
A meter long blade of pure hardened light
shot from the sword, and formed. Frog stared.
    “Amazing.”
Gourry nodded. “The Sword of Light
transforms the holders will into a pure energy
blade of light. It can defeat monsters, ghosts
and other special high powered monsters.”
“A weapon of such power and might could
be used against good people.” Leene said.
“Tis true mine Queen,” Frog agreed, “I
believe if one had the sword, one could
possibly destroy innocents.”
“That’s why I keep it on my person at all
times.”

“You sure we’re in the correct planet
brother?”
A young man of an apparent age of
seventeen, dressed in pure white, a
mechanical watch-like device on his left
arm and a hilt with no blade in it, hanging
from his side walked up behind the other man.
“I’m sure Ki. We’re on the right planet.”
Ki was a younger teenager of an age of
fifteen, with coal black hair, brown eyes, and
dressed in total black with the same mechanical
device on his left wrist. The stiff breeze of
the Guardia night attended the brothers
short black hair. Behind them, two other men,
one older by about a couple dozen years and
the other, the same age as Ki, came up behind
the two.
The older man was about thirty-two years
old, with a muscular build and a large war axe
strapped to his back. Another device was
strapped to his left wrist. He was dressed in
a leather tunic and loose black pants. The
younger was blonde, with short hair in a
somewhat brush cut, at his side was a long
staff type sword. It bore a thick blade on one
end, the other end sported a staff like handle
which extended about half a meter out.
The older man looked at the brothers. “Hey
Sarryn, you ready to go and find the blade?”
Sarryn turned around, a cocky grin on his
face. “Who do you think your talking to? I’ve
been around for over four thousand years.
Trust me.” He reached to his device and tapped
it. The device flared and his pure white clothes
dissapeared to be replaced by a set of clothes,
composing of a cloth tunic, loose baggy pants,
and his empty hilt hung at his side. Suddenly,
he shifted to a beautiful long haired female
version of himself.
The other three leaped back in astonishment.
Ki stared. “When...did you pick up that trick?”
Sarryn shrugged. “A few centuries ago. Was
talking with Urd when I said that I wondered how
the other half lives.”
“And...?” Johnathan, the older one asked.
“She gave me a spell which allows me to shift
sexes at will.”
    “Your warped man.” Farl deadpanned.
“Not really. I’ve been knocked into womens
areas by seveal perverts in my lifetime so the
shifting is a nessary part of my survival.”
    “...” the three were speechless.
    “Aaaaanyways,” Johnathan said, “we got
to find the Stone Breaker. Take a era and report
back in two days.”
Everyone nodded. Johnathan raised his arm
and a blast of energy shot out from the device
and opened a swirlling blue Gate. Farl stepped
through, and then Ki entered. Johnathan
lingered for a moment.
    “Take care Sarryn.”
“See you in a few hundred centuries...or two
days, whichever comes first.”
    Johnathan saluted his ancient commander
and stepped through to appear in 600 AD.

A pounding at the door rose Lucca out of her
bed. Grumbling as she scratched her head, she
stumbled down the steps and towards the door.
“I’m coming!” she yelled as she neared opened
the door. Behind it was Marle and another girl
she didn’t recognize.
“Hey Lucca!” Marle said, in her forever bright
and chipper attitude.
“And a happy thanksgiving to you two Marle.”
she grumbled.
“Aren’t we the grouch in the morning?”
“Come in. Sit down.” Lucca weaved her way
towards the bathroom. Slamming the door
behind her, the sounds of a shower was heard.
“I guess she means we can sit down Lina.”
The pair sat down across from each other.
Lina leaned back in her chair, propping her feet
up on the table. “So...what’s your experience
with those Gates?”
“Long story. It started a year ago, when I
snuck out of the castle to go to the Millenial Fair....”

“Ayla help you walk properly. You break leg
when fall from mountian range.”
Amelia winced as she tried to put pressure
on her newly healed leg. When she landed in
60, 000, 000 BC, she fell quite a distance until
she impacted and broke a leg. Unfortunately,
she was knocked unconicous when she hit,
making it impossible to cast a healing spell.
When Ameila awoke two days later, she
found that her leg was supported and the
bones mended by some magical force. Ayla
came in then and in her broken Japanese,
told Amelia that she had found her at the
base of the mountians, carried her to her
home, healed and had taken care of her for
the past two days.
    Amelia was surprised nonethertheless.
But the real shock was that she was in 60,
000, 000 BC on a planet she never knew
existed.
Amelia stumbled on a rock, her left leg
painfully spasming within its confines of the
splint. Falling foward, she felt Ayla’s strong
hands catch her from behind. Amelia blushed.
    “Why Amelia face turn red?”
    “Uh? Oh, nothing really Ayla-san.”
“Then we continue training walking, yes?”
she asked.
“Sure.” Gingerly, she planted her leg foward,
and then took another step. Then another, and
another until she walked better than she had
done last time.
“The leg is better.” Ayla commented. “Ayla
only use tribal medicine and knowlage. Not
magic. Ayla magic not strong enough to cure
leg fully, only Marle use strong magic for good
life.”
“Marle? Who’s that Ayla-san?” Amelia asked.
“She very strong woman from way beyond
Ayla time,” she said, “Ayla have many friends
from beyond blue Gate, and Marle very powerful
woman in healing. Marle rule Planet with father,
so is princess, like you.”
“Wow! Her powers must be used for the cause
of justice!”
Ayla nodded. “Is good use for magic. Ayla no
use magic but can have techniques. Ayla have
techs like Rollo Kick or Tail Spin. What you have?”
    “I’m a sorceress-cleric. I can use a lot of
Shamanism.”
    “What is Shamanism?”
“The four elements of nature and spirit are
manipulated to the users whims. Like now, the
weather is cold, right? Well, I can fix that. Help
me to the door.”
Amelia hobbled over towards the worn leather
flap with Ayla’s help. The two emerged into
the cold day of winter, the temperature
about minus 4 degrees. Amelia braced herself
on the hut and motioned for Ayla to get back.
“Fire....” a large ball of flaming energy formed
in her outstretched hands. “...ball!” The blast of
power flew out of her hands, igniting in a flare
of fire. The Fireball travelled along the tops of the
drifts, melting a path towards a tree where it
impacted and started a toasty warm bonfire.
    “You use Fire techniques?”
“Not exactly. Lets see...Deliver O wind at my
command, the power of lightning into my hand...”
The electricity crackled around her hands
and she thrust them out in front of herself.
“Giga Bolt!” The whole place loomed with a
discharge of electrical power.
    “Lightning too?” Ayla asked.
“Wind actually. Then there’s the Water group...
You who crosses between sky and earth, raging
water, gather in my hands and give me power...
Demona Crystal!” She blasted the drifts in the
meeting area with a freezing water wave. The
whole area became a skating rink with stands
included. Obviously, Amelia is very proficient
with Shamanism.
“And then there’s two more classes, Earth and
Spirit. Lemme try the Spirit group. Elmekia Lance!”
The bright green lance in her hands fizzled out.
    “What happened?” she asked, confused.
Ayla answered. “On planet, there four types of
magic : Fire, Lightning, Water and Shadow.
Amelia cannot use normal magic which not match
seal on planet.”
“You mean that I can’t cast the Ra-Tilt if its
nessary?” Amelia lamented.
“I suppose is correct. Can use Fire, Water and
Wind though.”
“I guess you’re right. Um, my companion, Miss
Lina is a very promenant Black Magic user. Is that
allowed?”
“Ayla not know. Should ask Speekio but Ayla
no know way to travel to End Of Time. Ayla would
guess that Black would be Shadow. But still not sure.”
“I guess so,” Amelia shivered, “but for now, lets
get inside. I’m freezing.”
“No wear skins or furs Amelia. You only wear
loose cloth.”
    “Yeah I guess.”

“You think he’s human?” one asked.
“Tests show that he’s a mixture. What do you
think Robo?”
“Perhaps he was an experiment of sorts. But
I haven’t seen any power levels in a failed
one.” another one, a male voice with a slight
mechanical edge to it said.
Zelgadis was not having a good day.
He was unconcious for most of it but when
he actually awoke, he was flooded with
questions, most being of his name, place of
origin, what he was and so forth. He was in
a bad mood for most of it since he couldn’t
find Amelia anywhere on the compound. I
mean, how can someone loose track of a
loudmouthed justice freak? He reasoned.
Currently, he sat on the edge of a very
uncomfortable metal chair, sitting as
slouched as he could muster in the ungiving
metal seat. Right now, he was trying to snooze
as the parimedics tried to classify what he was.
Dammit, he was a man! Well...a third man
for now. But that’s just until he was cured of his
condition.
The mechanical man, Robo, was standing in
the middle of the room, computing the data
they had gained from checking everything
about Zelgadis. Needless to say, the didn’t
get any blood work but the rest was astonishing.
For a week now they had been putting him
through a series of tests, poking, prodding and
other embarrasing things.
“You done yet?” he asked the mechanical man.
“Yes. Data storage complete. You may go now.” “Back to the hospital or can I actually GO?” Zel
asked sarastically.
“You can go actually. You can go and get a room
in a hotel.”
“Thanks.” he said. Zel jumped off the high chair
and clasped his cloak over his shoulders. Picking
up his sword, he buckled it to his belt and strode
out of the room.
Outside, he found a technological wonder which
was really advanced in his terms. He’d seen
Caimerian tubes and other assorted technologies
for specific uses but never anything like this. He
stood, slackjawed, taking in the sights of all the
steel and glass buildings, the hover cars and people
walking around. Some of them nodded with a smile
and a couple stopped for a short chat. Zelgadis
reflected that he had never found a place with so
much good natured friendliness. The odd person
avoided him and looked at him and his pebbled rock
skin from afar, jaws resting on the ground.
“So much technology. Wonder where I really am?”
“2301 AD,” Robo said from behind him, “I thought
you wern’t from this place since you carry midevial
garb and a sword. Tell me, I am curious, where are
you from?”
Zel sighed. “I wish I knew actually. Um, we
haven’t been introduced properly because of
all the tests. You are...?”
“Robo. Though I have been called
Prometheus or R66-Y in the past, Robo will do.”
“Robo. Where do people get lodging?”
“The hotel on Chronos street provides good
food and a warm bed for the night for only 30g.”
    “G? How much is a G?”
“A G is a strip of silver, worth about 10 gold
pieces.”
“That can be covered easily. I got a bag of
Gold in my cape.”
“Then I’d suggest taking the penthouse suite.
Its very comfortable and I believe there is no one
staying there.”
Zelgadis raised an rocky eyebrow. “How do
you know?”
“When I was built, I was built with an interface
which allows me to access all the city’s files
from the master command center. I, like my
breathern, are robots, designed for many tasks
such as computing, medical work, I was designed
for both Medical, Law Enforcement and
Temporal Disturbance tracking.”
    “Temporal whatsis?”
Robo smiled as best as his hinged jaw allowed
him to. “Hold on one second.” He hefted his arm
and yelled. “YO! TAXI!”
A yellow air cab screeched to a halt. A blue
robot stuck his head out. “You need a lift Robo?”
“Indutibly Rodimus. Drive at a pace a human
can stand, okay?”
“Sure. Hop in! This one’s on me.”

All through Arris Dome, a sound could be heard.
It sort of went like this : “Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!”

Two minutes later in front of the Guardia Hilton,
a very frazzled Zelgadis stepped out of the cab,
followed by Robo, ready to catch his friend at a
moments notice.
“I think I’m gonna be sick.” Zel muttered.
“Not good. Here, drink this.” Robo pulled a flask
out of the storage space inside his cylindrical body.
Zelgadis greatuflly accepted it and chugged the
milky substance down.
“Vanilla.” Zel licked his lips clean. “So, what was
that?”
“Tonic. A little potion which tastes like vanilla
and cures nearly all physical discomfort. Quite
useful.”
    “At least it works. Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it. Oh, by the way, if you need
a tour around Arris Dome, just call me on the
vid window.”
    “Vid Window? What’s that?”
Robo groaned a metallic groan. “I’ll show you
everything inside.”

“Janus? Come for dinner!” Magus picked his
frame out of his easy chair, marking his place in
his book titled History of Final Fantasy. He
unfastened his long cape and hung it on the coat
rack. Entering the kitchen, the sweet aroma of
exquisite cooking assulted his nostrils. Taking in
the smell with a deep breath, his mouth starting
to water.
Magus had to admit that ever since finding
Sylpheel in the cliffs of the new green lands
of 12,000 BC, he found that he found everything
he missed in his sister. The genuine smile, the
delicious cooking, and someone to actually talk to
in his cavern home in the mountian. To top it all off,
he felt like he had his sister back, and insisted that
Sylpheel call him Janus to remind him of happier
times. And this was one of the happier times hands
down.
Magus sat down at the dinner table, his mouth
watering. He inhaled deeply. “Smells Delicious
Sylpheel. What’s for supper?”
“Roast Rack of Lamb, with sauce, Rice,
greens and home cooked buns.”
“Gotta admit this is a feast fit for a king.
Arigato Sylpheel-chan.”
Sylpheel blushed and sat down, opening
the pots, letting warm mist flow from the
pots. Sylpheel reached for the spoon to dish
out the food. After grace, Magus and Sylpheel
dug into the delicious food, Magus savoring
every bite.
    “Delicious Sylpheel. Really Delicious.”
Magus ate the food in a few minutes until he
felt warm and content from the heat and taste
of the food he consumed.
“I’m glad you like it Janus. It’s one of my special
recipies which I cooked for Gourry-san.”
    “Gourry? Is he your boyfriend?”
Sylpheel smiled a bit. “I’d like to think that way but
I think he has a crush on Miss Lina.”
Magus stared. “Isn’t she only after the Sword
of Light?”
“Maybe. But perhaps she likes him but won’t
acknowlage it.”
Magus snickered. “Perhaps. After dinner, I’ll start
trying to find a way to send you back home. But you’re
always welcome here.”
Sylpheel smiled and nodded. “Thank you Janus.”

I don’t take responsibiliy for the crossover events.
Everything is controled by the stars...and three other

One small note on Chrono Trigger, most of you want to
find out of who the person that you have to save is.
You know, the one who is close to you, find this person
fast? Well, it’s no secret. Put it this way, you help her
no matter what you do.
Okay, to do this, you have to go through the Black Omen,
kick all the monsters butts, take out Zeal, take out Lavos’s
outer shell, and then travel back to the End Of Time.
When you arrive there, talk to Gaspar. He’ll say, and I’m
trying to quote directly here, “Thank you for saving Queen
Zeal. She is now totally human thanks to you.”
What a major rip! But I’m not complaining. So, for all you
people who are straining their brains on who the mystery
person is, just read this and bang your head on the table
a few times on missing such an obvious piece of the puzzle.

Oh, one other thing, I’m a Chrono Trigger Veteran, logging
over three hundred hours on the game and this is the
closest thing that can happen with that person. If you can
actually find a way to save here without killing her, I’d like
to see you try.

Aaron Ziegler, I’m addressing you directly for this. I’m betting
that saving Zeal is the only solution for this whatsoever.

Chapter 2 : Of bars and women

Sarryn sighed and tossed her black locks.
It was two days and still she hadn’t found the
Stone Breaker. It was getting very frustrating.
With a sigh, she picked up the geography
book. Since she had decided on using her younger
female form, (he could change his looks to match
a thrity year old) she decided to enroll in the local
high school to learn about this planet while searching
after school for the Elemental blade. So far, even with
her teleporting skills, she couldn’t find anything.
The teacher was the chancellor and he emerged
from the doorway, the princess and another girl
behind her. The girl looked familiar somehow.
“Class, this is a new addition to us. Meet Lina
Inverse.”
    “Hello everyone.” she said politely.
“Miss Lina, you can take your place beside Sir
Crono and Madam Lucca.”
Lina nodded and walked over to the empty desk,
her long black cape swirlling as she sat down. Sarryn
stared at her. ‘I know that face. I just can’t place it.’
An eracer flew out and whapped Sarryn-chan on her
head. “Sarryn! Go stand in the hall.”
    Sarryn groaned. “Hai.”

“Hey Sarryn! Wait up!” Marle jogged up to the
half man/woman and slapped her on the back. “You
going somewhere after school?”
Sarryn shook her head. “Nah. Whacha doing tonight?”
“Hanging out with Lina, Crono and Lucca. Wanna
come? We’re going to the nightclub in the south
contenant.”
    Sarryn raised an eyebrow. “Nightclub?”
Marle beamed. “Yeah! The black artist D Daddy is playing
at the south village nightclub in Porre. Its only 5g’s for entrance.
You 18?”
“Yeah.” Sarryn nodded. ‘Sheesh,’ she thought, ‘I’m
over four thousand years old. I can pass for any age
they can throw at me.’
“Um, Sarryn? Yoohoo? Moshi-Moshi? Epoch to Sarryn
hello?”
Sarryn snapped out of her thoughts. “Oh, yeah. Yeah,
I’m 18.”
Marle grinned. “Great! I’ll pick you up later at eight. Sounds
okay?”
    Sarryn grinned as well. “Sure.”
Marle slapped her on the back, flooring Sarryn with her
strength. She then laughed and skipped away, laughing
loudly. Sarryn picked herself off the floor, groaning in
pain from Marle’s blow. “The girl can hit.”
She looked around the school yard. Nothing.
Narrowing her eyes in slight concentration, her
body filled out into more masculine porportions.
Sarryn inhaled as he pressed the device on his
watch, changing his dress to a loose pair of
a black tank top, a denim jacket and denim jeans.
He stretched, bones loudly cracking. “Feels
good to be out of the smaller body.” He then
concentrated again.
“Darinias Jarinaia.” The winds picked up slightly
to lift the Holy Knight off the ground. Levitating
off the ground by about a meter, he scanned the town
of Truce, hoping to pick up some trace of energy
left by the Stone Breaker. “Shiek Light.” he chanted.
A light, about the brightness of a oil lamp filled
his vision. Now with enhanced magic vision, he
found the trace of energy left by the Stone Breaker.
“Perfect.” he let himself down on the ground and
tapped his watch device. A small screen unfolded
from the watch and Johnathan appeared.
    “John? You there?”
“Where else would I be?” John chuckled. “What’s
up?”
“I found a trace of the Stone Breaker in Truce Village.
You might want to get there pronto.”
    “Gotcha. Johnathan out.”
Sarryn lowered his wrist and the screen folded back
into the watch. He then checked the time. “Hmm...just
enough time to go and get a bite to eat at Truce Cafe.”

Ki was strolling down the streets of Arris Dome, his
head swivilling from side to side, taking in the sights.
He had switched back to a plain black shirt and jeans.
An alarm rang on his watch. He looked down and
saw it was time to report in. He ducked into a alley and
tapped his watch communicator. The screen unfolded
and Farl appeared.
    “Hey Farl, you busy?”
“Yeah. I was chasing down dinner when you called.
Whassup?”
    “You find anything yet?”
“Nada. This place is too prehistoric for my own taste.
After I’m done here, I’ll Gate back to 12,000 BC to check
on the areas there.”
“Good. I’m calling John and Sarryn. They should
have found something by now.”
    “Kay. See ya later.”
The screen flickered off and Ki leaned back on the
building. Suddenly, he felt something was amiss. His
stomach was growling. “I’m hungry.”

The clash of metal on metal was heard as two lone
combantants dueled it out in the back yards of Guardia
castle. Frog leapt up and chanted, “Leap Cut.” He bore
down on Gourry, his large Masamune outstretched.
Gourry leapt up and met him head on with a clang of
metal. Pushing away from Frog, Gourry jumped
back and sprung off the tree. He came in with
a heavy slash which nearly took Frogs head off.
Frog parried and leapt back. “Slurp Cut!” He lashed
out his long red tongue and wrapped it around
Gourry’s weist. Reeling in, he smacked Gourry on the
top of his head with the flat of the Masamune.
Gourry leapt back, rubbing his head. A large bump
was forming on the top.
Frog smirked. “Lower thine guard and thou art letting
thine enemy in.”
“I guess you’re right. Lets see how the battle ends
with my special sword. He repaced the sword in his
hilt, and clicked the secret button. Pulling it out, he
tossed it in the air and grabbed it with both hands.
“Light Come Forth!”
The meter long blade of pure energy formed from
the hole in the hilt. Frog nodded. “Thine position is
powerful young Gourry. But I wish well against
the mighty Masamune. New Technique, Bubble spray!”
Frog summoned a large water bubble and then with
his sword, jabbed the bubble of water. A torrent of
water blasted towards Gourry. Gourry eeped and dodged
away. He rolled a ways away and came up in defencive.
“That was spur of the moment?”
“Thou art correct. Come, let us parry.”
A clash of hardened light and Dreamstone echoed around
the courtyard as they fought hard and fast, each not giving
the other quarter. Soon, they fought to a standstil.
Gourry lay on his back, gasping for air as with Frog who
sat, propped on a tree trunk. Gourry gasped.
    “Water.” he croaked.
“Thou hast an idea. Come, let us drink.”
The two lay on the ground, nither moving. Gourry tilted his
head towards Frog. “You want to move?”
“Nay good sir. I have expended most of mine energy in
sparring. Let us rest for the time being.”
The two spend a good hour laying on the ground.

Leene watched the two lay on the ground, a
smile perched on her full lips. King Guardia came
up beside her and looked out the window. “The
young man is very energetic.” he commented.
“Very. Looks like Frog and young Gabriev are
getting along very well.”
“I see. Leene, have you taken notice where young
master Gourry was found? He was found in the
Donderas Mountain Range. He could be from the
past or future.”
“But is it not that the Gates were closed after
Lavos was destroyed by young Crono and the
others?” Leene questioned.
“I do not know. But perhaps by some sheer luck,
the Gates were reopened.”
Leene frowned slightly. “This couldn’t be
good. From what Lucca said to me, the Gates
only stayed open until Lavos was destroyed.
I fear ther could be something else in store
for the young ones.”
Guardia XXI nodded grimly. “If there is
another menace, all time could be at stake
again.”

Somewhere in the future, in the top of a tall
building, a evil entity layed in wait. This time,
everyone in all the universe will perish, it
thought. Not just the Jurai, but everyone. Its
eyes glowed with dark energy as the formless
mass spirited away into the sky.

Lina thrust out her hands. “Elmikia Blade!”
The energy fizzled out. She screeched in
frustration. “Why dosen’t it work?!”
Crono was watching from the sidelines and
commented that maybe her magic wouldn’t
work on Guardia. Lina shot the red haired
swordsman a dark glare.
“Well duh! What was your first impression?
Aurgh!” she pulled at her red hair in frustration.
“Let’s try this! Stone Spiker!”
She slammed her hand to the ground and a
slight temor rummbled throughout the area she
was standing on. Lina facefaulted.
Lucca sat on the other side of the clearing,
typing at her laptop. “You’re using elementals,
right? Why not try your Black Magic?”
“At this point, I’ll try anything. Dark Flare!”
Black and purple energy swrilled around her hands,
and a energy ball flew out of them. It impacted
with a force which shook the forest. Lina lit up.
“I’m back in buisness!”
    “Interesting. Try a fire spell.”
“Mondo Burst!” Dozens of fire arrows blasted
out and incenerated a stump.
“You can use fire too? What kind of seal around
your world do you have?” Marle questioned.
“A shield that allows hundreds of different spells
to be casted. I’m trying out the Wind spells now.”
Placing her two fingers at her forehead, she chanted,
“Levitation!” immeadately, she rose up into the sky
and did a few loops.
“Whoa. Can you teach us that?” Lucca asked.
“Sure.” Lina landed and sat down. “I’ll give you
the spell. Winds which sweep between sky and earth,
send one up to the heavens. Then you chant levitation.”
Crono stood and repeated the spell, forcing his
lightning powers into the spell. Slowly, he rose into
the sky, a bit wobbily but flight nonethertheless. Marle
cheered him on.
    “Go Crono! Yeah!”
Crono’s attention slapped away from maintaining
the spell and he dropped to the ground with a
thump. He then said that it’s difficult to maintain
the levitation spell. Lina waved it off.
“You’ll get used to it. Now comes the water spells.
Lets see...I know!” She raised her hand un in the sky.
“Freeze...” An huge icicle appeared in her hand. She
grasped it. “Arrow!”
Chucking the arrow, an passing Imp became a popsicle.
Everyone bigsweated. “Um, sorry just a reflex.”
Marle looked up. “Nice aim. Lemme try.” she
concentrated and a thin arrow appeared in her hands.
“Freeze...” the energy of the crystal jumped through
the roof. Lina gasped and tackled Lucca and Crono,
shouting, “Get down!”
“Arrow!” she finished. A mini glacier appeared, coating
the area with frost. Lina poked her head up, a pair of icicle
earrings on her ears. Lucca came up with a snow santa hat.
Crono came up with a beard. He then held up a wooden sign
which read, “Merry Christmas.”
Marle blushed as the ice melted away. “Gomen ne.”
Lina sighed. “Your control needs work.” but then
she laughed. “You guys learn fast.”
Lucca shrugged. “What can we say?”
Marle nodded in agreement. a beeping came from her
watch. She looked at it and gasped. “Oh! I’m supposed
to pick up Sarryn to go the nightclub in Porre.
“Another nightclub? Geex, those things come up fast.”
Lucca commneted. Crono nodded in agreement. He spoke,
saying that maybe he should go there too for Marle’s
protection.
“Protection?” Marle scoffed. “I don’t really need a
bodyguard,” she turned around, a sweet smile on her
face, “but I appreciate the sentiment. Ja nae.”

Farl sat down crosslegged in the bar. Rasing up a hand,
a cider was slid down the polished oak counter top into his
hand. “Thanks.” he mumbled, while drinking down the
cool liquid. He smacked his lips and ordered another.
After a few more ciders, he ordered a Barbeque plate.
The food was prepared and handed to him, the chef eying
Farl with a cautious eye.
Within minutes, the food was consumed and Farl was
totally satisfied. “Good stuff. How much?”
“700g’s,” the chef said gruffly. “I hope you have enough
to pay for it.”
“Would fifty gold pieces handle the amount plus tip?”
The chef’s eyes widened and he nodded like a kid being
handed his allowance. “Oh totally sir! That’s enough to
pay for the tip as well over two times.”
“Keep the tip.” Farl stood, swept the loose strands of his
short blonde hair and walked out of the
resturant.
‘Sarryn said, ‘check Truce Village, there’s a
trace of energy from the Stone Breaker.’”
Farl narrowed his eyes and a soft light played
over his vision. Sure enough, there was a trace
of the Elemental Blade in the area. But too faint
to pinpoint accurately. He shook his head dejectively.
“I can’t get a lock on it.” he muttered. “Not enough
traces of it.”
He sighed and pointed his arm towards the alley.
With a burst of energy, a Gate formed and he jumped
through it.

“Here it is. The Porre Nightclub. Home of the best
bands in the whole kingdom of Guardia.”
Sarryn looked the area over appreciatively. Looked
a lot like the old bar that he and Urd used to go to every
so often. Loud, darker, lots of drinks. ‘Feels like home.’
Then he thought of the home he had left. ‘Well perhaps
not.’
Marle paid the enterance fee and the two girls slipped
inside. Inside was a darker nightclub with several patrons
in the area, drinking, listening to music and several other
activities which one wouldn’t want to participate in. As
they walked around, men started to oggle Marle because
of her outfit which was a miniskirt and shortsleeved belly
shirt. ‘Geez,’ Sarryn thought, ‘the Senshi wore more than
what Marle’s wearing.’
After securing a table near the stage, a attractive
wattress came up to the pair. “What’ll you have?”
    “Guardia special.” Marle said.
“Just spring water.” The wattress looked at Sarryn funny
and took down her order. As she left, Marle bent over to Sarryn.
“Water? Do you even drink?” she whispered.
“I have a high level of alchohol intolerance in my genetic
make-up. Besides, after trying to match drinks with an old
friend, I’ve lost the taste for high level beverages.”
Marle shrugged. “Suits me. Me? I got a really high tolerance
level from always drinking in the Palace banquets.”
Sarryn blinked a few times when the music started. The
black singer wore a white outfit and black shades. He started
to sing Be Missing You Always. As the music started to
swell over the crowd, so did Marle’s intoxication. She was
foolishly grinning as two men, about mid twenties came up
to them, wicked grins on their faces.
“Hey good looking, wanna get down?” he asked in a rough
voice to Marle.
Marle was totally drunk and nodded stupidly. The man
grinned and swept the princess off her feet. as they started
to walk away with their catch, Sarryn jumped to her feet.
“Hey! Put the lady down boys. Before you get hurt.”
The two men turned around, both having lecherous
grins on their faces.
    “Who’s asking? The princess?”
Sarryn seethed. They were either being totally
dumb or incredibly brave to challenge her. “I
said, put her down. She dosen’t have a clue about
what’s going on.”
“And you’re gonna stop us?” snickered the
other man. He pulled a wickedly curved knife
from his back and pointed it at her chest. The other,
carrying Marle, sat her down away from the impending
chaos and drew a pistol.
They circled as Sarryn stood there, hands in her
pockets.
“You better not try to stop us little lady.”
“Little lady?” Sarryn asked, playing along. Her fist
tightened into a hard ball.
“Yeah,” the younger one chortled, “we could take
you right on the spot.”
“Do try.” She said sarcastically. Then, she whispered
a single word. “Barrier.” A faint glow surrounded herself.
“Come and get some.” she taunted.
The two men obliged her. The older one shot a bullet
from his pistol as the other lunged for her throat. They
suddenly impacted on a shield surrounding her. Groaning,
the younger stood up, brandishing his knife.
    “Bitch.” he snarled.
“You trying to hurt me and my friend? Big mistake.”
Suddenly, she held out her hands in front of her.
At once, a flaming sword formed in her hands, causing
the crowd to stagger back from the heat. Large sweatdrops
rolled down the youngers head.
    “Wanna try again?” she taunted.
He growled and launched himself at her. She brought
down the sword and it cut neatly through the blade...
and his left arm in a cut which would have made a Dark Jedi
proud. He screamed in pain as he staggered back from
his dismenbered arm.
    “Bitch!” he screamed at her.
“Now now, it’s not nice to call people names. Wind Wake!”
Gale force winds blasted out from her hands and slammed
the man into the wall. She turned towards the other, her sword
flaring brightly. He cowered as the throngs pushed
him into the fighting area.
    “Want some too?” she asked.
“Nothing kind lady. Just leave me and my brother
alone.” he asked, kneeling on one knee, bowing and
scraping.
“Brother eh? I have a younger brother too. I’ll heal
him for you to keep the family ties. But you have to
promise to keep away from Marle and me.”
She reached down and picked up the severed arm.
Walking over to the unconcious man, she placed it at
his bloody stump and chanted.
“God who reigns above all, bring down healing
hands to save the sibling of the man behind me.
In they great name I ask for mercy on the one who
wrongs us. Recovery.”
In a spray of light, the man woke up and
found his arm was back on the right arm, instead
on the ground. Sarryn nodded and walked over
to Marle. She picked her friends slight build and
carried her out, tossing a handful of gold coins
to the manager for damages.

End Chapter 2

Authors notes : So what if it was a bit bloody? I
had to do this sometime in the story and I figured
it might as well be now. I was hurried with this
story since my brother wanted to play FF7 on the
computer. Go fig.
Anyways, if you want to get the feeling for this
chapter, watch the bar fight in Fatal Fury : Legend
Of The Hungry Wolf. You’ll get the picture. Till next
chapter.

Chapter 3 : Drunk, tired, and wasted

Sarryn carried Marle out the door, her arms trembled
under the younger girls weight. “Who would have thought
that a princess weighed so much?” she asked herself. Marle
sat in her arms, peacefully sleeping with the occasional
laugh when she awoke in a drunken stupor. Sarryn bigsweated.
“Oh man, I can’t bring her home like this, King Guardia will
flip if he hears his daughter went to a bar.” Marle snuggled
into her arms and Sarryn blushed a bright red. “I suppose I’ll
have to bring her to my place for the night.”
She closed her eyes and spoke the teleportation chant.
“Langua Sarina Diamand.” A bright white glow blasted from
the sky and the pair dissapeared in white light.

Zel furiously ate the large steak set in front of him, drawing
long stares from the other resturant diners. Robo sat across from
him, watching Zelgadis eat.
“You must not eat very much.” he commented.
Zel nodded between bites. “With the trouble we get into, we
spend more time running than eating. Normally, I only drink
coffee, not eat anything usually.”
    “Special metabolism Zelgadis?” Robo asked.
“Something like that. I’m used to not eating but now I’m hungry.”
He picked up the bread and started to eat that one as well.
When he was done, Zelgadis dropped a few handfulls of coins
on the table, leaving a gratious tip.
Outside, the pair walked down the road, towards the Guardia
Command Centre. On the way there, Robo briefed him on the
things going on in the monitor room. Robo told him everything
about Lavos and the fight to save the future.
“...so this Lavos is a intergalactic paricite, who lived underground,
sampling on DNA of other creatures?”
“Yes. I had the first hand opportunity to destroy him with the rest
of my comrades. His power is immence as with his evil. When he
arises from the ground, Lavos destroys most of the
life on the planet, decimating most population areas,
and destroying all plant life as we know it. When it
emerges, it takes up residence on a high peak and
starts to spawn offspring which will migrate to other
planets to begin another lifecycle. It’s a terrible monster
which had the ability to destroy us with one shot.
we were lucky to destroy it when we had the chance in 1000
AD.”
“This Lavos sounds like a Mazoku.” Robo looked at
him blankly. “A Mazoku is a monster which was on the dark
side of the wars thousands of years ago. It could be possible,
but perhaps this Lavos is a member of the Demon race which
fought for control in our world.”
“Curious. Though I do see the connection, how do you think
it’s possible that a demon from your world was able to come to
ours?”
“I don’t really see how it could happen but maybe it tried
to escape destruction from the king of gods and landed here
on Guardia.”
Robo mulled over the situation. “Likely, but not easy to prove.”
Suddenly, without warning, clouds rolled into the sky and
lightning coaleced on the tower. Robo looked up. “Very abrupt.
The weather does not change this fast usually.”
Zelgadis felt the stone hairs on his neck suddenly raise. He
whirled around, looking for someone, or something. “There’s
something here.”
Robo’s inner scanners picked up a entity which was loosely
concentrated. “To the north, about 2 clicks. I can’t get a lock on
it easily.”
Zel went for his sword. “It’s evil. I can feel it.”
The sky went black. Zel yelled “Lightning!” and a ball of light
appeared in his hands. Tossing it into the darkness,
a face was illuminated. The face looked like a three eyed monster,
pure white with black facial markings. His body was swrilling
with dark energy. Or was it matter? The white face split into a
manicial grin. “I feel power.” it said in a voice which was dripping
with murder and mayhem. “I feel energy. You will join the Jurai
once I finish with the two of you.”
“Like hell I won’t.” Zelgadis growled. He unsheathed his sword
and lunged. A deep cut appeared on the mosnters left arm. It just
grinned and backhanded the Golem into a building. Zelgadis grunted
slightly as he picked himself out of the wall. Robo turned to face him.
“Power...It’s off the scale!” He went into battle mode. “Uzi Punch!”
His arm flew off connected to a chain. It slammed over and over again
into the monsters face, staggering it slightly. Robo’s jaw dropped.
    “He’s not even phased?”
Robo was one with the wall. The monster grinned evily. “This is the
best this world has to offer? Well then, once I destroy your heros,
I’ll go to the next world. And the next, and the next. Until the House
Of Jurai finds me and we do battle again.”
“Who’s this Jurai?!” Zelgadis yelled at him.
“The House of Jurai is a powerful house which defeated me 1000
years ago. They tried to destroy me with the weapon of there’s but
my essence was not destroyed.” He grinned savagely.
“I floated around in space until I found this world and
it’s Lavos. I used its power to rebuild my body and now...”
He reached out and grabbed Zelgadis by the throat and
started to squeeze. “...I’m going to kill until they find me
in this wretched galaxy.”
“Not if I get something to say about it Kain.” A keen
blade parted the arm from Zelgadis’s neck. Kain roared
in pain. “Who dares?” he rumbled.
“I care.” Ki stood at the ready. He was dressed in black
combat armor, making him nearly invisible. His sword
flashed with energy. “Ki of the Knights of the Round.
Get ready to rumble.” He leapt high into the air and held out
a hand. “Dark Bomb!” Spheres of black energy surrounded
his arm and blasted Kain several times. Kain was pushed back
a step.
“I thought there was more challenges here!” He flung out
his arms, extending them farther out towards Ki. Ki illuminated
his sword and yelled, “Light Swipe!” The energy enhanced blade
cut through Kain’s arms. “How’s that?”
Kain only snarled and knocked him into a building, collapsing
it on Ki. Kain smiled evily. “You were no match for me boy.”
Suddenly, the rocks blasted out from the rubble. Ki stood there,
sword at the ready, his armor slightly damaged. “Okay, that was
impressive.”
He leapt up and spun around fast. His words seemed to echo
around the buildings. “Darkness beyond twilight, in crimson
blood that flows. Buried in the flow of time.”
Zel looked up and recongized the spell. “The Dragon Slave?!”
“Is where thy power grows. I pledge myself to conqour, all the
foes who stand, against the mighty gift bestowed upon my
unworthy hand.”
The bright red energies of the Dragon Slave leapt through the
roof. “Dragon Slave Condenced!”
The powerful spell blasted out and struck Kain. Kain roared
in pain as he shook with the impact of the suicide spell. But
unlike Lina’s Dragon Slave, this one shot up into the sky
in the form of a fire red dragon, the radius of the blast contained
within a meter. Kain roared in pain. “I can’t be beaten yet! I’ll
be back!”
With that, he dissapeared from sight within the blast. The spell
dissapated and Ki came back to earth. He looked over to Zelgadis.
“Watch yourself next time, kay?” With that, he dissapeared in a
black fog.

Lucca looked up from her reading. A thought crossed her mind.
“Wonder where Marle is? She usually comes here after drinking.”
She then shrugged it off. “Sarryn-chan will take care of her.”

Sarryn slipped into house she had bought. It was situated in the
middle of the forest where the old Church was located. She breathed
in the forever hanging smell of bread. Tossing off her shoes, Sarryn
walked upstairs, and into the guest room where she laid Marle on
the plush bed. Marle grumbled and turned over on her stomach.
Sarryn shook her head in mock exasperation. “How
can she get so plastered in such a little time?”
Sarryn blue out the candle at her side and patted the
princess on the forehead. Marle smiled in her sleep and
turned over.
Slipping off her jacket, she turned around and reverted
back to her male form. He walked down the hall and dressed
for bed. He relaxed and read a copy of the novel, “The Five
Tribes of the Silver Millenium.” Sarryn himself was once a
resident of the Silver Millenium and he was head of the royal
guard and Princess Serenity’s main guard and close personal
friend. Sadly, he was asked to leave by the Almighty himself
to train in the Holy Magics up in Asgard.
With much thought, he agreed and left to train. It was on
his physically (he lived for over 1000 years since the last visit)
sixteenth birthday that he was allowed to visit the Moon
Palace one last time. But to his horror, he found only the
remains of the once proud kingdom was now dead. The ruins
seemed a week old. He was late by a week. His family was dead.
That was the beginning of his quest as Belldandy came down
and spoke with him, telling him to find three others to help in
the quest for the Holy Blade the Almighty forged a long time ago
to help in the battle over the planet in the beta quadrant.
After travelling the planets, he found a fighter from Jurai who
was skilled in the Shadow arts. Though powerful, he lacked the
presision to control them effectively. That led to Johnathan’s
joining. Johnathan was a magic teacher who taught Ki to use
his powers wisely. Since Johnathan resided in Syraag, he could
teach the techniques very well. Ki and Sarryn were good friends
and later, Ki was adopted into the Excalibur Family. They met
Farl in Grandseal during a tournament. Farl was a expert swordsman,
unhindered by his small frame and youth. He was allowed to join.
Thus, the Knights of the Round were formed.
Sarryn turned off his light and laid back in his bed. He closed his
eyes...and a beeping awoke him in the morning. He reached over
and tapped the alarm clock but it wasn’t the alarm clock. “Urgh?”
He pushed the watch to flip up the screen. Ki appeared on the
watch screen.
    “You awake?”
“I wasn’t,” Sarryn said sarcastically, “until a second ago. What’s
up?”
“There was a monster attack here in 2300 AD. It was Kain.”
Sarryn snapped awake. “Kain?” he asked,
tossing his sheets aside, snapping the device on
his wrist. “How did Kain survive the Cannon blast?”
“Don’t know. I’ll call the Galaxy Police Headquarters
if you want.”
“Go ahead. Inform them about Kain. Perhaps they can
send a fleet.”
“I think there will have to be a Jurai presence aboard the
fleet. I’ll call Washu.”
“Okay. Oh, one other thing, I used the Dragon Slave
Condenced on Kain. he got away before the full blunt
of the attack destroyed him.”
Sarryn frowned. “This is not good. Keep on searching
for the Breaker in your time. I picked up a trace in the area
that corresponds to Truce Village in your time. Try checking
the areas around it.”
“Gotcha. Take care.” Ki signed off.
Sarryn laid back in his bed. But sleep was not coming as he
remembered the monstocity Kain was.

He was there on that fateful day when the House of Jurai
and the fleets of the Galaxy Police surrounded the criminal.
Kain fought with a vicious vengance against the bondings
of the energies of the Emperor of Jurai and the added Subspace
generators to draw him into the prison.
Standing on the bridge of the Jurain Royal Ship, he watched
in awe as one of the most powerful people on the face of the
galaxy, next to Queen Serenity, focused his Tenchi-ken into
a supernatural beam of containing energies.
Sarryn could of sworn that he heard Kain promising to
destroy the line of Jurai as he was being ripped around by
the gale force energy waves.
The Emperor stumbled with the lack of power he was sending
out. Sarryn rushed to his side, breaking free of the Police line.
Holding out his hands, he channeled Holy Energy into the
older man, feeling his friend’s strength ebb away. With renewed
vigor, he poured the elements of his home on the Moon,
the power of his Rekai, the strength of his chi, and the energies
of his friend, Sheng Long, the eternal dragon.
The energy storm renewed more viciously as Kain was sucked
into Subspace, only to return a thousand years later.

“Kain,” Sarryn whispered. “After all this time, he’s back. No
doubt he’s holding a grudge as well.” He turned over and closed
his eyes, trying to go to sleep. He fell asleep in two hours.

Johnathan sat in his room in Porre Inn, trying to read a book he
had brought along in his dimentional pocket bag. It contained
a history of his city, Syraag. There, a swordsman of light defeated
the demon beast Zanifar.
Later, about a year ago, Zanifar was reborn, following a chain of
rebirths. Some might say that someone was playing a pretty nasty
trick on Miss Lina Inverse and Co.
One of her companions was a decendant of the Swordsman of
Light, young Master Gourry Gabriev. Somewhat stupid
but loyal to a fault and has the brute strength of an
ox. He carried the Sword Of Light. As Johnathan reflected,
who knew that the demon beast was a mist creature? For
that matter, who knew Little Sylpheel was the one who
took the Holy Sword of Syraag?
He reached over to his nightstand and picked up his
nearly empty glass of cider. Drinking it down, he closed
the book, blew out his candle, closed his eyes...and was
rudely awakened by a looming head of death.
Well, to be accurate, the monitor of his watch had popped
up and expanded to maximum size, looming over his bed.
The face just happened to be Farl who was holding a alarm
clock and making a face. Nonethertheless, Johnathan
set a new worlds record for the Guardia High Jump.
“Yaaaaugh! Farl! Don’t do that you crazy idiot!” A harsh
stream of words was directed towards the laughing warrior,
brandishing a ringing alarm clock.
“Sorry, but this is important John,” Farl appologized, “Ki
called in a few minutes ago. He said that he fought a monster
in 2300.”
John only yawned and turned over. “So let him worry about
it.”
“Will you get up and listen?!” Farl demanded. “Kain is still
alive!”
That brought John out of bed in a hurry. “What?!” he
exclaimed.
“Contact Sarryn or Ki. And we’ll meet in 1000 at 1900 hours.”

Authors notes : Um...if you want a total explination of how Kain
survived, um...I’ll have’ta work on that. All I can say is that Kain
was able to preserve his essence. After a couple of years, he found
Lavos in the underground cavern where it dwelled. There, Kain
slowly drained its power away, during the Dark Ages along
with Zeal. With enough power, it continued to drain energy,
weakening Lavos to the level where it could be taken out
by Crono and his band. The final destruction of Lavos enabled
him to power up to immence proportions, constructing his body
to full potential.

Chapter 4 : Lies and Truths

Marle awoke the next morning to the scent of eggs and meat
cooking from a earthen stove. She inhaled the heavenly scent
as she slipped out from under the tangled sheets.
Making a quick pitstop at the bathroom across the hall, she
quickly washed up and combed her hair with a brush she found
in the basket next to the sink.
“Mmmm, I wonder where I am?” she asked herself as she put
her hair up in a ponytail.
She ventured out into the hall, headed towards the origin of
the delightful smells. Peeking out into the kitchen, she found
a handsome young man wearing a housecoat and slippers,
cooking breakfast. His ebony hair seemed to gleam in the rays
of the sunlight as he skillfully tossed pancakes up in the air,
fried the eggs and cooked the steaks.
    “Ano...where am I?”
He looked up. “Oh, you’re awake Princess.”
Marle glared at him suspiciously. “How’d you know that?!”
she demanded.
“My sister goes to school with you. And besides,
who doesn’t know about your fight to preserve the future?”
Marle let her guard down slightly. “Who’s your sister?”
“Sarryn. Oh, where’s my manners? I’m Garrick, her older
brother.”
“Garrick huh? She never really speaks about you
much.”
“We keep apart while I travel around. We had this
house built as a place to come home to. It’s not much
but its home.”
Marle took a chair and sat down in it. “And home
is where the heart is. I’m starved, what’s for breakfast?”
“Pancakes, syrup, fresh apple juice, eggs and steak.
I always enjoy a large breakfast when the time is
right.” Garrick served her a large platter full of food.
Marle thanked him and immediately dug in with relish.
Garrick smiled and sat across the way, eating his plate
as well, but at a much slower pace.
After a while when Marle slowed down her frantic
eating, she looked up questioningly. “So, how come
I’m here and Sarryn isn’t?”
“Sis went out, travelling towards Porre village. She
said she would be back in a day or so. You were really
hung over last night.”
Marle blushed. “So I get drunk easily. I get used to
it.”
Garrick snorted. “As if. She had to save you from
two guys who wanted to take you away.”
“Take me away? What do you mean by that?” she
asked innocently.
Garrick facefaulted. “I’ll...tell you when you’re older.”
Marle shrugged and returned to eating. Garrick had
a large sweatdrop sliding down the side of his skull.

In a dark realm, Kain sat, nursing his wounds. His
face twisted into a demonic grin as he felt the faint
pulsing of the essence of Lavos delivering its phenominal
power into his battered body. He inhaled with a raspy
breath.
“He was strong. He was powerful. He must either
join me or die,” he said, grinning a megalomaniacal grin.
With a thought, he started to pull his energy from the
dark forces of humankind : anger, fear, dispair, the evils
of human nature. He started to laugh. A long loud
psychotic edge of pure crazed fury.

Somwhere, Kodachi Kuno and the spirit of Kefka
shuddered.

“Thanks for helping me Robo,” Zelgadis said while
lifting his battered (which was nearly impossible to do)
body from the med tank. Robo nodded and handed the
chimeria a towel to dry off.
“Don’t thank me, I just brought you here. Thank
the guy in black. He saved both our butts.” Robo thought
for a minute. “I am curious Zelgadis, what was the spell he
used?”
“That was the most powerful attack spell in Black
Magic history, next to the Giga Slave. It was called
the Dragon Slave. Though I never saw someone with
such mastery and control over the spell.”
    “What do you mean Zelgadis?”
“The spell has the ability to destroy this whole
dome and then some. But he was able to cast the
spell that the radius was only a few feet. Usually, we
would have been toast if he used the full radius of
the spell, but this guy casted it so that the Dragon
Slave was still insanely powerful, but contained.”
Zel grinned. “He would probably give Lina a run
for her money.”
Robo nodded and handed Zel his cloak. “You know,”
he began, “we can go to the city hall and check the past
records to see if your friends are listed.”
    “Records huh? That could work.”

Amelia stood in the shelter of a tree, bundled up in a
long skin jacket and pants, holding a large knife in her
hands. He pressed her back up against the large tree
trunk, waiting for the runner pack to come close enough.
To her left stood Kino with his large long bow in his
hands, the shaft stretched back. To the right stood Ayla,
her large club and her iron fist held ready.
    “Amelia ready?” Ayla asked.
    Amelia nodded, “I’m ready Ayla-san.”
Ayla looked past her to her husband. “Kino ready?”
    “Kino ready.”
“Amelia send fire into group when Ayla say so. Kino
send shaft into most wounded and Ayla defeat.”
    A second later...
    “Burst Rondo!”
    THWANG!
    WHOCK!
The three hunters stood over their kill triumphantly. The
burning flesh smelled a lot like beef and Amelia was getting
very hungry.
With much effort, they hauled the beast out of the
mountian range and back to the Chieftian’s Hut.

    “Find anything yet Janus?”
The dark sorcerer shook his head. “The records
are very vague about your world.” He dropped
a scroll and picked up a book. “You brought
a lot of documents but none of them deals with
something like this before.” With a growl of
frustration, he tossed the book behind himself
and picked up a weathered scroll.
Nearby, sitting crosslegged in the corner, Sylpheel
sat reading the historical records of the planet.
Fortunately, sometime in the early days around 15,000 BC,
old documents were found, dating a historical record
dating back from 60,000,000 BC. Ayla apparently had
developed the modern writing system and wrote about
her friend Amelia Will Tess De Sayruun. This pleased
Sylpheel greatly and she read about everything they
had done.
The only thing she was saddened about was that
Amelia had a record of dying in 60,000,070 BC, outliving
her Prehistoric friends, staying Chieftain in Ayla’s absence
while she took care of the newer generations.
But the fact that Amelia was alright made her happy.
And fortunately, her happiness spread to Magus who was
somewhat in the process of becoming a puff ball around
her.
Across the room, Magus yawned loudly. Snapping his
book closed, he stood, brushing the lint off his cape.
“I’m going to bed. You can stay up longer if you wish,”
he said briskly as he strode into his chambers.
Sylpheel shook her head slightly. ‘He has to loosen up
somewhat.’

Gourry strode the Village of Truce, looking around the small
shops and residences. “Whoa. Wonder if Lina has it this good?”
He walked down the road, heading towards the Mountian range.
In the mountian range, he climbed up a rope ladder, quickly
kicked a Imp and a Roly out of his path, and crossed the bridge,
jumping down the small ridge.
He emerged into the clearing where Frog stood, leaning on
the trees. “Young Gourry, are you ready?”
“I guess. what are we here for anyways?”
Frog facefaulted. “Methinks that the young master is slightly
brain dead.” he grumbled.
    “Uh?”
“Nothing. May we partake into the void? Must be warned,
thine life could be at stake if ye decide to cross time without
proper protection on oneself.”
    “I guess I’m ready. Frankly I don’t really care!”
“You are reckless!” A pause followed. “But I must admit I hath
been in yonder tracks before.” Frog grinned. “Come, let us try to
access the Gate.”

Ki wandered the streets of Arris Dome, a masking field covering
his person, hiding the aura of immence power from Kain. To tell the
truth, he was slightly nervous. Kain had nearly destroyed the Juraian
homeworld until he was brought to a halt by the Emperor of Jurai. He
shuddered to think about what would happen if he had succeded.
‘Damnit, Kain’s free, alive and kicking. Plus, he’s targeting the
heroes of this world.’ His face twisted into a frown as his hand
clenched and relaxed over and over. ‘If only he was destroyed back
when Lord Tenchi went into the past, none of the coming chaos
will happen. I shudder what would happen if he was allowed to roam
free, destroying all of the other planets. The World of Balance,
The four planets of Fire, Ice, Rock, and Bone. Cybertron, Grandseal,
and other limitless places.’ He shuddered slightly.

Lina laid back in her chair in the banquet hall, her arms propped up
behind her head. She rubbed her stomach in delight.
“Great meal. You’re cook does good work.”
The cook nodded and exited into the kitchen.
Sarryn looked up from behind her already depleted stack of meats,
bread and juice. “You really eat a lot.” For a second, she was tempted
to make a crack about her chest size from behind small after eating
so much. But then a memory swept over the top of her mind.

“Sarryn, whatever you do, if you ever encounter Lina Inverse,
do not, I repeat, DO NOT, make fun of her body. You’ll find yourself
on the recieving end of a fireball or something worse.”

Sarryn wisely stiffled a comment which would lead towards a painful
end. Instead, she looked at Crono and asked him about their adventures
through time.
A few hours later, a knocking at the door brought in
two new guests...

    “Lina!”
Lina’s head jerked up in surprise and shock at the blonde
swordsman, glomping her in extasy. The events which had
taken place next were classic.
First, Lina hugged him, then she smacked him around for
leaving her alone, after that, she got him into a mercy headlock
for being a pervert, and finally, a shuttle which looked like a
swordsman was seen flying towards Leo. Everyone blinked.
Twice.

“So, I met your brother today,” Marle commented from out
of the blue while she and Sarryn walked in the gardens together.
“Really...is that so?” she said in her lilting, non assuming
voice.
“Yeah!” She said enthusistically, “He was really nice! And
I like his name, Garrick. He looks a lot like you as well.”
“We’re twins in a sense,” Sarryn replied. Marle looked up
at her, blue eyes confused. “he was the same age as I am when
he came to my house one day. He was poor, tired, but a great
swordsman. To save him from starvation and his wounds,
I treated him, and eventually, I had to develop a pychic link
bewteen him and myself. I can hear him right now in Medina.”
“Wow...” Marle whispered, “you can do that?”
“I’m a healer in a sense. I never touched the Black Arts like
Lina-san did.”
    “Can you show me?”
Sarryn froze for a second. “Um...I’m not sure. You see...I’m
sorta...hunted.”
    “Nani?” the princess asked.
“It’s true. There is a evil entity here on this world, hunting
for power and destruction. I can feel its presence here. In fact...”
Suddenly her eyes widened and she grabbed Marle.”Down!”
A large explosion rocked the gardens as a energy ball blasted
down from the sky. Running with Marle under her arm, she
leapt the fountian and hid behind it. A single word escaped her
lips : “Kain.”

Authors notes : Kain was the pivotal charecter in this whole
story and I want to acknowlage the creator of Tenchi Muyo!
for this awsome villian.

Chapter 5 : Secrets revealed

Crono rushed out of the castle, his Rainbow held in his hands.
Lina, Lucca, Frog and Gourry came out and stopped behind him.
There in the middle of the gardens was a white faced evil entity
with a dark shapeless body, flowing around like paper in the
wind.
The entity inhaled and growled. “I smell power!”
With that, it lunged for the group... and slammed its fist into
where they were standing a second ago.
Lina charged up a spell as she flew into the air.
“Fire...” she reared back and threw the flaming energy.
“ball!”
The power impacted into the form, driving it back into
the castle walls, making a huge crater.
“You are powerful! You will join me or die!”
“Gee tough choice.” Lina commented as she formed a blazing
fireball between her hands.
“Don’t mind joining.” Gourry said obliviously as he formed the
Sword of Light blade. With a yell, he ran and slashed
at his supposed stomach, the blade dissapearing into its
formless mass. The creature only laughed and tossed Gourry
into the wall.
“Fire2!” The ring of energy expanded out from the center of
where he stood, rocking the area with magical explosions.
    “Lightining2!”
    “Water2!”
    “Demona Crystal!”
Discharges of electricity, water, and ice rocked the area, clouding
the place with dust. Several other attacks followed in the first volleys
stead.

Meanwhile, Sarrryn poured a tonic on Marle’s injuries from the shrapnel
of the inicial attack. She looked sadly at her. “Damnit, you didn’t have
to get so close to me,” she whispered sadly.
Marle grinned. “Would you have rathered I stayed in the blast range?”
    “Touche.”
Marle sat up behind the fountain, gazing at the firefight. “What is that
thing anyways?”
    “Kain.”
    “A what?”
“Kain is a evil intergalactic criminal who delights in killing thousands
for his own twisted purposes. He was brought to justice by the Royal
Family of Jurai one thousand years ago. Then, two years ago, he escaped
Subspace and tried to destroy the Masaki family. He was presumed dead
after the Dimentional Cannon was used against him. They were wrong.”
“And what does he want now?”
“Possibly revenge, senseless bloodshed, violence among other things,”
Sarryn shook her head. “I should be out there helping.” A stitch of pain
coursed through his side where her shirt and side was torn through by
a stray piece of stone. Marle looked at her strangely. “You want to go
out there? In your condition? You’re wounded!”
Sarryn grimaced. “I fight with odds like this all the time.”
Marle shook her head. “You have a death wish. Let me help. Cure.”
The healing energies coursed into her wound, healing the wounds.
Marle leaned back, tired. Suddenly, a shriek, highly identifiable from
Lucca pierced the air. Marle jumped up and the blood drained from her
face. Lucca was being strangled by the monster, and the others were
too hurt to help.
    “Noooooo! Ice2!”
The huge blocks of ice, breaking the grip of Kain’s hand on Lucca’s
throat.
Kain looked at her, eyes glittering. “You have power as well. You will
join or die.”
Marle screamed as a wave of energy tossed her into the wall.
Kain grinned. “You can never defeat me.”
    “There’s still someone standing Kain.”
Everyone looked up to see Sarryn, her dress billowing
in the air. Kain chuckled. “You expect to defeat me little
girl?”
    “More than you imagine.”
She raised her left arm and energy started to swirl. Her
hair was tosled in the wind as the words she spoke would now
echo in the ears of those who heard it.
“I am Sarryn! Leader of the Knights of the Round!
You have destroyed worlds Kain! Prepare to die!”
with that, she slapped the watch which opened and
flared.
With a burst of light, energy traced her body, changing
it to more masculine features. Her dress was changed to
white armor, loose white pants, and a cape. His hair shortened
to a short cut. In his hands, a hilt appeared and a flaming white
blade formed, coating the handle as well. Then with a flash
of light, the sihloette of a large dragon appeared behind him.
    “Sarryn!” Marle gasped.
“Very impressive boy...but you won’t survive to gloat about
it!” With that, he lunged for the stock still teenager. Suddenly....
“Holy Flare!” A dome of white energy expanded from his
position, knocking Kain into the air. Sarryn leapt after him,
sending White Fire Bolts after him. Kain lashed backwards with
an energy bolt which knocked the Knight into the castle wall.
Sarryn groaned and stood, his sword solidifying into a
pure metal blade. “Okay...that was impressive. But you’re going
down Kain!” Sarryn cupped his hands in front of his body,
a intence light growing. “Hey Kain! Catch!” He tossed the energy
ball towards Kain who caught it reflexitively.
Kain stared at it. “Is something going to happen?” he asked
incrediously.
“Now that you mention it...yup! ‘Weapon of light, child of light,
emerge from your coccon of holy power.’...” His eyes snapped up
as he thrust out his arms. “BAHAMUT ZERO!”
The energy ball flared and dissapated into the sky.
They waited in silence as Kain stood around, looking at him, the
proverbial sweatdrop rolling down the front of his white face.
“Um...hate to be a drag Sarryn but isn’t something going to
happen? IN THE NEXT CENTURY PERHAPS?!” Lina yelled.
“Sure somethings going to happen.” Sarryn replied.
Kain crossed his arms. “So?” he demanded.
Sarryn pointed a finger up to the sky, a sly grin on his face.
Kain looked up, and then...

Witnesses said later that a blinding bolt of energy lanced down from
space, striking the gardens of Guardia castle with a shockwave that
decimated parts of the forest. Upon closer inspection of the night
sky, you could see a huge dragon circling the earth at a approximate
hight of a thousand kilometers.

Sarryn laid on a soft bed, his injuries being tended to by the castle
maids. To the side of the bed sat Marle, asleep in the chair. Across
the bedpost sat Lina, Lucca and Crono, all in various states of
sleeping or awareness. Right now, Lina was boring holes into
Sarryn’s slightly chared body. If looks could kill...he would be
six feet under already.
He groaned and winced as the disinfectant solution was dabbed
on his arm.
“Hold still,” the maid said soothingly, “you’ll aggrivate the burns.”
“If I wasn’t tapped so much, I’d just cast Cure2 on myself.” Sarryn
grumbled.
“In any case, you would still require some sleep to recharge your
powers. Now, get some rest.”

Sarryn awoke the next morning with his teammates hanging over his
head. Ki shook his head disparingly. “You had to call Bahamut ZERO,
didn’t you? I told you to not to!”
The Knight pushed his body up to a sitting position and glared at
Ki. “Hey, I was sort of out of options here idiot! Besides, you casted
the Dragon Slave, and you didn’t hear any complaint from me didja?”
“That’s no excuse!” Ki’s hand clenched into a fist and growled
menacingly. Then in a more subdued voice, “did you get him?”
“I don’t think so. I can still feel his presence around the world.”
Sarryn narrowed his eyes and reached out to test the lifestream
bonds. “I think he’s drawing negative emotions to fuel his power.”
Farl groaned. “Another megalomaniacal villian who draws dark
energy to survive. Why don’t we just invite Queen Beryl for the
Grandseal Festival?”
“I’d rather invite Megatron instead.” was Sarryn’s answering
reply.

“There...” Sylpheel stood from her kneeling position at the foot
of the bed. “your leg is totally healed.”
“Thanks Sylpheel!” Amelia flexed her legs a few times to make sure
that everything was strong enough.
In the corner, Zelgadis and Magus leaned back on the wall, conversing
in lower tones.
“You care about Amelia, don’t you?” Magus asked.
“And what would you think about that?” Zel answered briskly.
“You hate to see her injured or in trouble. For that, you protect her on
every turn.”
    “So what if I do?”
    “You love her.”
Zel facefaulted. “Is that so huh? Then why are you so close to Sylpheel huh?
Answer that shadow man!”
“She reminds me of my sister.” was Magus’s reply. Zel blinked and looked
at the dark sorcerer. Magus continued. “In the year 12,000 BC, my sister and
I lived in the kingdom of Zeal. We were happy, until our mother was corrupted
by the power of the creature called Lavos. She sacrificed herself to save us
from dying in the undersea palace. I never saw her again.”
Zel, wisely stayed quiet. But his feelings were in a deep churning turmoil.
Magus had suffered at the hands of a relitive, and lost something dear to
him. For himself, it was his humanity. For Magus, it was his sister. Zel stayed
silent for most of the day as he walked the palace grounds.

Washu Habuki leaned back in her chair, idely toying her finger
on the SMITE button. Just then, a little cabbit bounced across the
screen, pulling a sign that said “you have mail”.
    “Finally,” she muttered.
As she read the letter and accessed the files, the blood from her face
drained away to give her a pasty white complexion. “Oh shit,” she
whispered horsely.

    “TENCHI! GETRYO-OHKIPACKEDANDREADYTOGORIGHTNOW!
MOVEMOVEMOVEMOVE! MOVEYOUJACKASSES!” Washu inhaled
deeply to replenish her oxygen starved system.
“Mom, what are you blabbing about?”
    “Let me repeat...THERE’SGOINGTOBEACATYLISMWHICHWILL
ULTIMATELYDESTROYTHEWORLDSINTHEWHOLEUNIVERSE,
ANDTHE FREAKIN’PSYCHOISBACK!!!!!” Washu eeped and dragged
in another breath.
    “Nanda?” everyone asked.
“Kain. He’s alive...” Washu passed out from oxygen deprivation.

“Washu-chan?” Washu awoke and bolted upright, her chest heaving
in anxiety. “Are you alright?”
Tenchi stared at the little scientest, a questioning look on his face.
“Um...you said something about Kain?”
    “Yeah...he’s alive.”
Everyone jumped back in horror, clinging to the nearest support strut.
The unlucky strut was actually Mihoshi who came in the door, sopping
wet from her customary landing in the lake. Behind her was Kyonne, wringing
the water from her hat. “Ano...what’s going on?”
Reluctantly, everyone let go and stumbled to the floor. “Kain...” Tenchi
whispered, shivers of horror running up his spine. “the psycho is back?”
Washu nodded, brushing the lint from her shoulder. “I got a message from
an...” she blushed, “old friend of mine. He’ll explain it in detail.”

The hologenerator opened and a figure dressed in white appeared atop the
screen. He bowed low and looked up with dark brown eyes. “Good day
everyone. and good day Lord Kasohito. I am Sarryn Excalibur, Holy Knight,
leader of the Knights of the Round, and Washu’s old...friend.” To this, Washu
blushed a bright crimson, and Ryoko nudged her mother, a devilish grin on
her face. “I must address a issue of important matters. I am on a world which
has low level technology, exempted by Balthasar’s machines and Gaspar’s
time egg and other assorted things. In any case, the magic levels here are
quite limited with some exceptions. I have met up with the most powerful
fighters of this world, most of them powerful physical fighters, some powerful
magic users, some both.” Sarryn took a breath and continued.
“Kain has attacked this world, in a chance to lure the Jurain family here to
Guardia. In so far, we have held our own against his attacks, using spells and
summoning espers to help out in the battle. But, we are steadily loosing ground.
At the time of this recording, Kain has already gained much of the southern
contenant under his control, destroying anything and anyone he feels is
expendible. Please brace yourself.”
The scene changed to a sight of a smoking world, the southern contenant
and parts of the islands to the east, covered with black smoke. Large explosions
could be seen from the orbital view. The scene switched back to view Sarryn,
looking slightly weary. “The devestation will not stop until one of the family
of Jurai comes to fight him in a last stand. If any and all support will
be accepted. Thank you.” With that, the holoprojector shut down with
a mechanical humm. Silence hung over the people in the house like
a thick fog. Tenchi broke the silence.
“This is not good, is it?”
“Kain,” Ryoko growled in barely contained fury. “That monster is back.
And he’s not going to stop this time.”
“And we’re going to stop him,” Yoshu said, standing up.

“Sarryn?” The voice was angelic, a soft melody not unlike wind chimes
waving in the wind. Sarryn recognized the voice.
He reached out and grasped the easily recognizable soft hand. The scent
of springtime filled his nostrils with long forgotten memories. He smiled.
“Belldandy.”
The brown haired goddess leaned over and hugged her friend. “I
missed you you big oaf.” she whispered into his ear.
“Hey, would I leave my friends before Koemna said so?” Sarryn
sat up, drawing his legs into a yoga position. “So, how’s earth?”
“Good. I found someone...special.” Belldandy blushed.
“A mortal? Really? Lemme guess, ‘I wish to have a girlfriend as
nice as you’ or something like that?”
“About,” she admitted. After a second, she cleared her throat and
sat down on the edge of the bed. “I have some great news! Your
Princess is reincarnated! The Royal Court now lives!”
Sarryn blinked in shock but then grabbed her shoulders in extacy.
“Really? Princess Serenity is alive?!”
Bell laughed, a musical chime in the air. “Yes she is alive. You can
see her soon.”
“Wonder if she would remember her old childhood friend?”
“Maybe. From what the Yggdrasil said, her guardian cats memories
are slightly swisscheesed from staying in a cold sleep capsule.”
    “Luna? How is she?”
“She...is very well. Mind you she can’t remember how to transform into
her humanoid form without the Ginshouzu.”
    “Hmm...is Artemis still around?”
    “He is.”
“Probably still a slacker. Never around when the heavy lifting started.”
Sarryn commented, slightly bitter.
“Perhaps. The Almighty has given you leave to visit 20th century
Tokyo now for a few hours.”
“What? But what about Kain? He could attack!”
Belldandy shook her head. “After gaining territory in the southern
contenant, he was sufficiently drained. It will take him at least two days
to recharge his evil powers. If only we could help.”
“If only? Has dad decided that us mortals have to sort this out ourselves?”
“That, and you have to get that sword blade soon.” She reminded him.
Sarryn slapped a hand to his forehead. “Of course! The Stone Breaker!
I’ll tell the guys to cast the Shiek Light spell on the others to find the
sword blade while I’m gone.”
He stood and walked out the door, Belldandy watching him leave. “Good
luck Sa-chan, you will probably need it.”

will be a short interlude for a while.

Chapter 6 : Visits

The Guardian looked up, feeling something amiss. She stood from her
chair in the coffee shop and strode out into the street. Her green-tinged
black hair shone in the sunlight as she peered into the sunny street.
    Something was wrong. But familiar.

“Usagi-chan!!!!” Minako Aino dashed up to the fleeing senshi leader.
“Where are you going?”
“To the temple! I am soooo late!!!”
“Really? I guess we’re both late.”

“Somethings not right,” Rei said after the fire reading. “Something
is different here.”
“I don’t detect anything Rei,” Ami answered, “are you sure?”
    “Positive...well, nearly.”
Suddenly Ami’s computer rang out as a Daimon was detected in
the park.

Sarryn looked around, blinking. This was different from his last
visit. Then again, he visited earth quite early in the Feudal Period.
She had been here for a day now and nothing interesting had happened.
Suddenly, a ripping sensation blasted through his chest as a shining
crystal appeared in front of his torso. Sarryn blinked.
“Hey!” he picked the crystal up in his hands and inspected it
intently. “it’s been a while since I’ve seen this.”

    “Nani? He didn’t faint!”

“Ara...he hasn’t keeled over yet!” Sailor Moon was confused. Usually
when someone got his or hers heart crystal stolen, they collapsed. Taking
no chances, she dashed over, yelling.

“Huh? Since when did the Princess run around in a senshi fuku?”
Sailor Moon ran up, slightly panting. “Hey! Put your heart crystal
back! You’ll die!”
Sarryn narrowed his eyes, inspecting the sixteen year old in front of
him. “Since when did removing the heart crystal kill you?”
Sailor Venus blinked in surprise. “You can’t feel it?”
“Naw. But if It’ll make you happy, I’ll return it.”
    “Hold it!”
Sarryn spun around, his eyes blazing. There stood Uranus and Neptune,
with angry looks on their faces. “We want the talisman, kid,” Uranus
threatened.
“...and we won’t leave until you give it to us.” Neptune finished.
“Tough,” with that, he returned the crystal into his heart. Uranus seethed.
“That just cost you dearly kid. World Shaking!”
    “NOOOOOO!” the inners screamed.
The attack slammed into his chest with a bright flash. Uranus smirked.
Sailor Moon and the rest of the senshi stared in horror. Suddenly, the dust
was swept away in a tornado wind, to reveal Sarryn standing unscathed.
“Was that supposed to hurt? Well...” he raised his arm out in front of
himself, “it didn’t.” His hand lit up in orange energy. “Enemy Skill Tech!
World Shaking!”
Uranus screamed as the high energy attack blasted her into a grove of
trees. Sarryn lowered his arm, a blank expression on his face. “Remember
that I meant you no harm. Ray Wing!” He rose into the air and flew
off, leaving the rest of the sensh, slackjawed.

Sarryn slid down the wall, gasping for air. That attack hurt more than
he had remembered it to. And another thing was brought up in his mind :
when did Uranus attack people like that just for a talisman? She seemed
quite angry that he had returned the crystal to his heart.
He brushed his sweat drenched black locks from his eyes and whispered
a small spell to mask his energy and ki signiture from the senshi or whoever
tried to take him out. Next, he tapped the communicator and switched his
clothes to a pair of baggy jeans and a black shirt. For the finishing touch,
he shifted to a female as he stood and walked out of the darkened alley.

Ami sat in Rei’s room, surrounded by the inners. She frantically tried
to relock on the fading energy pattern in the southern part of the district.
She tapped the keyboard several more times and uncharecteristically
cursed several times while slapping the minicomputer several times.
“Chikuso! The signals dissapeared off the board!” she slumped down
on the wall, shutting her eyes, trying to relax the stress bleeding from
her whole person.
Makoto leaned against the wall and sipped her root beer. “I don’t get
it, I mean, how can someone survive Uranus’s attack? And turn it against
her? I don’t know about you but that was incredible when he flew off into
the sky.”
Rei nodded slowly. “I felt a strange energy coming from him when he
used his powers.”
    “Like what?” Luna asked curiously.
“It wasn’t evil but it was really familiar. Almost...angelic somehow.” Rei
slumped slightly and heaved a sigh. “I don’t know but I get the feeling I’ve
seen that level of power before.”
“That’s easy, look at Usagi,” Minako pointed out.
Rei shook her head. “While Usagi has the crystal, this power exceeds hers.
It was like a bright beacon in the darkness, filling the whole world with light
in every turn. You don’t suppose this guy is a reincarnated Silver Millenium
person, do you?”
Luna and Artemis shook their heads. “There was no one with this level of
power in the Silver Millenuim save for someone with a huge Glave in her
hands. But that power can be easily corrupted.” Luna answered.

Sarryn looked at the top of the steps leading towards the Hikawa Shrine.
She sighed and brushed the loose strands of her ebony hair back behind
her ear. “I can feel the Princesses power inside this place. But what can I
say? Can I awaken her memories?” A stabbing pain shot through her side
as the wound became more aggrivated. “Augh...Regen.” The soft red light
covered her body. The pain eased slightly but then suddenly, her side
felt like it was splitting through. She cried out and held her side as crimson
liquid seeped through her clothes. “Damn...the Regen spell doesn’t work.
Cure.” she gasped out. The sparkling green lights surrounded her wound,
but only to ease the pain for a few seconds.
She grimaced and stumbled up the steps of the Temple. As she reached
the top, her mystic senses told her that the Princess was in the building to
the left. She stumbled towards it, and knocked at the sliding door. She
groaned and stumbled back, holding her chest and side.

“Someone’s at the door,” Ami said.
“I’ll get it.” Usagi stood and slid open the door. A scream came from
the outside of the door. The girls bolted up to their feet, running towards
the door.
Rei reached the door. “Usagi! What’s wrong!”
Usagi was hunched over a still figure. She grasped the girls arms and
tried to drag her into the room. Ami ran over and picked up her legs.
Together, they hauled her into the room and set her on the bed.
Ami aimed her computer at the girls side. “She’s bleeding from
a side and chest wound. It’s not even cauterized. Looks like
a energy weapon from a science fiction movie. There’s not even
enough residual energy left to identify the weapon.”
Usagi ran in with a bowl of hot water, and several bandages.
“Here’s the stuff.”
Ami nodded and started to rip the girls shirt, faintly blushing
at her chest size. “Give me the facecloth.”
Makoto soaked the cloth and handed it to Ami who used it to
clot the blood. Then she wrapped her chest with the gauge and
laced it with antiseptic. Ami shook her head in disbelief. “I just
checked the wound. I’m amazed, because a wound like this would
have killed a lesser woman. You don’t think she was used in a
experiment, do you?”
Rei probed the unconcious woman’s mind with her limited psychic
senses. “I don’t sence any agony in her mind. But...”
The girl started to moan and toss in her sleep. She started to mumble
incoherantly. “Kain....Jurai....” she groaned as she tossed. “Serenity....
Damn you Beryl...”
Everyone’s eyes bugged out in shock. Luna blinked in shock. “She...
she knows about the Silver Millenium!”
Artemis nodded. “Shhh, lets see if she says more.”

Sarryn found herself in the middle of destruction. Awful scenes flashed
in front of her eyes. The deaths of thousands, the destruction of the
Kingdom. Voices echoed in her ears.
YOU LEFT THE KINGDOM OF YOUR HOME. YOU LET THEM TO
FEND FOR THEMSELVES AGAINST QUEEN BERYL.
She shook her head vehemantly. “NO!” She shouted angrily, “I WAS
NOT TO INTERFERE! EVEN IF I WAS TOLD ABOUT IT, I COULDN’T
HELP THEM FIGHT AGAINST THEM!”
Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of him. It was a face he never thought
he would see again : The face of his Queen. “You have left us to die.” she
accused. “you left our kingdom to burn. You are nothing.”
“NO! DAMNIT, IT WASN’T MY FAULT! STOP IT!”

    Sarryn awoke screaming.
She gasped for air as her eyes focused on the solid blue eyes of a face
she thought she wouldn’t see for a very long time : The face of his
Princess.
“Ara....what am I doing here?” she asked.
“You fainted after knocking on the door,” Ami supplied. “now, could you
answer our questions? Like who are you?”
“I...I’m just a girl from the main areas of Tokyo. My name is Sarryn.”
Rei frowned. “Sarryn? I’ve never heard of that name before. Is it new?”
    “Yeah...it is.”
Then Rei glared at her. “Okay, lets stop beating around the bush here.
You know about us and of the Moon Kingdom. Now spill.”
Sarryn shook her head disparingly. “Same old Lania, still feisty as ever.”
she turned to look at her. “You of all people should remember sooner
or later. After all, you were the historian.”
Rei concentrated but came up blank. “Nothing.”
Sarryn sighed. “I’ll help.” she placed her hands on her forehead
and concentrated. She then started to speak. “Loving hand of God,
people of this planet, giving life water of the earth,” her hands
started to glow, “I ask for kindness and mercy to restore this ones
mind. Let the memories flow as they were meant to be...Memory
Blast!!!”
The light flared as Rei was flooded with memories. Memories
long forgotten from her long forgotten past of a young man, about
fifteen years old, playing with her, the rest of the inners, and
Serenity. Then he left again for a last time.
Rei turned shimmering eyes towards her face. Suddenly, she threw
her arms around her slim neck and kissed her deeply. Sarryn’s eyes
widened in shock. Last time she checked, Mai wasn’t this passonate.
She pulled away and held Rei at arms length. “Whoa...when did you
get so passionate?”
Rei blinked, confused. “I...I can’t remember.”
“Maybe this will jar your memory.” he shifted into his normal male
form, grimacing slightly from the stretching of the wound. Everyone
gasped in shock.
Ami ran her computer over his body several times, not believing the
change in his physiology. “I don’t believe it. Gender, facial features,
genetic make-up even! Even his blood make-up has shifted to
Testosterone!” Her eyes glazed slightly as the prospect of the scientific
recognition.
“It’s a little spell I picked up a couple of centuries ago.”

Sarryn walked down the street, Rei walking beside him. Rei was unusually
silent as she matched her old boyfriends pace. Sarryn’s face displayed a
large smile as he walked down the road.
“Peaceful, isn’t is Mai?” he said, breaking the ice.
    Rei nodded slowly. “Yes...it is.”
“You seem detatched from all this somwhat,” he commented.
Rei sighed. “I don’t know. I mean, what happens when you find your old
boyfriend is still alive and immortal?”
    “Very unnerving I would guess.”
Rei nodded and grasped his hand, leaning on his broad shoulder.
Suddenly, her head snapped up and she looked around.
Sarryn felt it too. “Uh oh.”
    “What is it?” she whispered.
“Makai demons. I’d say about high B class. You make a break for it and I’ll
cover you.” He reached into hyperspace and pulled his sword hilt.
Then, demons appeared, chanting : “KILL THE KNIGHT!”
“GO!” Rei bolted for an opening with demons trying to block her when she
passed them by. “Wind Barrier!” The shining globe of energy encased her
and she was levitated out of the war zone.

“He is aware of us.” One said.
“All the more reason to destroy the Holy One.” another answered.
“Defeat him and prepare for the next phase.” This one was female.
    “As you wish.”

“HOLY FLARE!” The dome of white energy obliterated the surrounding
demons with a single shot, and knocking the rest of them down on their
knees from the shockwave. Sarryn ignited his sword and slashed himself
a pathway through the angry masses. He turned around and held out his
hands. “Ripping Torrent!”
The blast of pure water turned the fire demons into helpless weaklings
and he quickly finished them off with several well placed sword swipes.
One came up behind him and slashed at his injury. The Knight winced
and fried him with a fireball. Leaping up into the sky, he concentrated his
Chi energy into his fingers and thrust them down.
“Crackling Pilliar!” The thin beam dug into the ground. The ground
buckled and groaned as a huge pilliar of Chi energy blasted out from
underneath the demons, sending them up into Lower Earth Orbit. He
turned around briefly to see a flash of red energy burning behind a grove
of trees.
Two more demons came at him, intending to maim. A blast of fire
incinerated them.
A sharp pain attacked his side as a claw swipe reopened his wound.
He leapt back, cluching at his side. He winced as he stabbed his sword
point into the ground, shouting, “Crater!” At once, the ground collapsed
in on several demons.

Sailor Mars ran out of the grove of trees, and immediately decided to
forego the customary speech. “Burning Mandala!” Rings of mystic flame
burned into the backs of the grouped demons, incinerating some, and
turning the heads of several others.
Mars leapt up and delivered a kick to the head of a unluckly demon
who happened to be stupid enough to get in her way. She landed and
snapped the neck with her locked feet. Letting loose a gout of flame,
she followed it up again with several palm strikes.
Sarryn battled his way towards Mars, grinning slightly through his
aching side. “Miss me?” he asked playfully.
“Less talk, more fighting.” she said while lashing out with a Fire Soul.
“I thought you’d never ask sweetheart. Bram Blazer!” The bolts of power
ripped into the surrounding monsters. Sarryn narrowed his eyes. “There’s
a portal somewhere here. Wait a second...there’s a B class here.”
“Reigun!” A blast of pure rei blew the crowd to hell as a young man
with slicked back black hair stood with three others. One was a red head
with a rose whip, another with a pure reiken sword, and the last one
with a katana. A whisper escaped Sarryn’s lips. “Koenma.”
Yusuke launched into the fray, breaking jaws and other assorted limbs
and nessasary bodily parts. Kuwabara made shishkabob with his reiken.
Hiei was a black blur, cutting down monsters at a time. Kurama was lashing
out with his rose whip, decapitating many.
Sarryn fought his way through the crowd to fight beside Yusuke. “Hey,
you’re decended from the Makai, aren’t you?”
Yusuke shot him a surprised look. “How’d you know?”
Sarryn snorted. “What? I can feel the Youki from a mile away. Yaaaahh!”
He slashed another with his gleaming white sword, following up with
several giga bolts. “You work for Koemna?”
“Rekai Detective,” he affirmed. “Who are you anyways?”
“I think now’s not the time for introductions.” He delivered a vicious
kick to a jaw and neatly powered up his sword. “These are getting annoying.”
The other only nodded as he blasted another group. Suddenly, a high
pitched scream of agony rang out through the air. Everyone turned to
the source and found Sailor Mars being held hostage by a demon. This one
looked potentially vicious, being his power rating as a high B class. The
knight’s eyes widened in shock. “NOOOO! LET HER GO
YOU BASATARD!”
The Youkai only laughed : a gutteral sound made in the back
of his throat. “You must be joking. Having a dark Senshi working for
us can help our energies grow stronger.”
Sarryn started to tremble as the demons flocked towards the side
of their leader. His fist tightened as whisps of white energy started to flow.
Kuwabara’s eyes widened in shock. “Guys! He’s starting to power up!
Get back!”
“Do ask he says, GET BACK!” He burst up with white flame, powering
up to full with a scream of rage. White energy exploded and the demons
writhed in pain from the pure energies released.
The Rekai Tantai shielded their eyes from the pure blast. When the light
died down, the man was covered with gleaming white armor and clothes.
A word escaped Kurama and Hiei’s lips. “Oh my god.”
Sarryn leapt up into the air and hovered. He clasped his hands together
and started to chant.

“Light which burns within the eternal shade of blue, I call all power
within me to head my commands. Let the fools who stand before me
be destroyed. In they great name I call the power of the human soul and
of the spirits of Espers! Come forth and draw my command!”

The outline of a angel appeared in his body as everyone stared in awe.
Sarryn’s eyes glowed blue. “I am Serapham! I have come to heed the command!
I call the heavenly blasts from up above!” he put his hands out in front and
yelled : “Angelic Wrath!”

In a span of a blink of an eye, all the demons were destroyed, Mars was
freed, and the portals to Makai were closed. Yusuke, Hiei and Kurama
collapsed to their knees, feeling incredibly weakened from the blast of pure
Holy power. Yusuke gasped and panted from the draining blast. “What...
what the hell was that?”
“A Holy energy blast, channeled through Serapham the angel. I appologize
for any and all wounds to your bodies I accedentally inflicted. But for now,
I must ask a favor.”
Kuwabara stood for the group. “Of course. Anything.”
“Make sure Sailor Mars gets reunited with the Senshi. She...is very dear
to me.” The weary knight glanced to his fainted companion, a smile on his
face. “Keep her safe until she awakens. And give her this,” he pulled out
a ruby moon from under his cape. “And now, I must go. Kain awaits.”
“Take care whoever you are.” Yusuke said.
“My name is Sarryn Excalibur. Farewell.” He pointed his left in front of himself,
the portal forming into a rippling lake of energy, not unlike water in a crystal
lake. He stepped through and the portal closed behind him.

Authors notes : Don’t complain, just wait, eveything will be
explained soon.

Chapter 7 : Battle Preperations

Marle stood along side with the Knights, awaiting the final
landings of the crystalline ship. A blast of exhaust came out
of the vents, Marle’s hair was whipped around as the ship
landed. A hatch opened and a ramp extended.
Out stepped a elderly man, a young teenager, and three
young girls, two with spikey manes of green and red, and the
last with long purple hair in two long ponytails. They were
dressed in contempoary clothes, matching the period of 1998
on earth. The elderly man came up and stuck out his hand.
Johnathan grinned and grasped it with a firm grip. “Welcome
Lord Yoshu. I am second in command, Johnathan.”
Yoshu grinned widely. “I am pleased to meet you. I’m
curious, where is your leader?”
“Sarryn is...” He was cut short as a pool of liquid energy
appeared with a wave of backlash. The white cloaked knight
stepped out, his clothes marred slightly by a stain of blood.
He waved at the group joyfully.
“Hey everyone! Hey Yoshu, long time eh?” Sarryn winced
slightly as the stitch in his side deepened. “Little help?”

Tenchi ate slowly in the banquet hall, seated bewteen both
princesses. Listening to the story, his face drained of blood.
Kain was alive by draining the energy of the creature known
as Lavos. His spirit was able to endure the cannon blast,
allowing him to return, more powerful than before.
“I can’t believe that Kain’s still alive,” Ryoko growled.
“I don’t believe it myself Ryoko,” Washu admitted while
picking at her food. “But Ki was attacked first. And the rest
were attacked in succession afterwards.”
“But what can we do Washu-chan? What if we can’t
destroy Kain again?” Ayeka interjected.
“Then it is a good day to die.” Tenchi said in a flat
monotone.

At the head of the table, Sarryn was conversing with the
magic users at length. “...it’s a long shot, but if I can pull
some strings up in heaven, I’ll be able to draw enough power
to create a shield around this planet to allow the rest of the
other magic spells to be used. My summons can be used but
that’s because the Magicite crystals were used to create
my armor.”
“So with the new shield around the world, we can use the
Earth and Spirit groups?” Lina asked.
“And quite a lot more. I have over four thousand years of
magical experiance. I can teach you summons, combonation
spells, and some of my special techniques.” Sarryn took a
long drink from his goblet.
“Sounds good to me. When do we begin?”
“Immediately. I called some of the goddesses to come
down and help.”
Frog blinked. “Goddesses? Thou hath some influence in
thine divine ways Sir Sarryn.”
“None as true as that,” a sultury voice echoed in the room.
Ki started to sweat nervously as a platinum haired woman
wearing a sheer tiger striped collar and a blue silk dress
stepped out into the dining room.
“U-Urd, what are you doing here?” Ki gulped nervously.
“Oh, didn’t you know? Sarryn invited me here,” she purred
sdeuctively. “Pity there’s no TV’s in this world or else I would
have gotten down here sooner, ne?”
“Ah heh heh heh...” Ki trailed off, while fingering his collar,
large sweatdrops running down his forehead.
“Its been two years and he’s still stuck on Urd,” Farl muttered
under his breath to Crono who snickered.
“You think he was laid sometime last year by the way he’s
acting.” Johanathan shot from out the side of his mouth. Ki
elbowed his mentor roughly in the side.
    “Shut up!” he hissed nervously.
“What’s up your ass?” Farl asked. Realization dawned on his
face. “You did get laid!”
Farl was one with the foot.

Belldandy, Skuld and Urd finished their chanting as the magic
shield formed around the world with a pulse of light. Sarryn stood
to the side, leaning on the wall. “Finally,” he muttered. “Last time
they did this, it took a full week.”
“Don’t blame us. The Yggdrasil crashed that morning. We had
to get Moon Rock Bracelets in a hurry.” Urd snorted. “If you
wanted to, you could have leant us some power.”
“I just wanted to make you sweat,” Sarryn grinned.
“In any case, we should start teaching everyone some magic,”
Johnathan said, picking up a pair of talismans while snapping in a
yellow crystal and a pale ruby colored crystal. “This is for the non
magic users or who can’t fling energy.” He handed them to Gourry
and Tenchi who hung the talismans over their necks. Gourry
fingered the flat surface in confusion.
“What does this do?” he asked.
“The yellow crystal is a Enemy crystal materia. Sarryn is the only
one who regularly uses it. To learn attacks from the materia, you
have to get hit with it first.”
    “Sounds painful,” Tenchi observed.
“Slightly. But we can give you another command crystal to cast
the Barrier, Mbarrier and Wall spells.”
    “I don’t get it.”
    Everyone facefaulted.
“Never send a moron to do a sorceress job,” Lina commented.
“Whatever.” Farl picked up his longhandle sword and started
to polish it. “But in any case, we’ll teach you all at least one
summon spell and other spells and our own spell variations.”

Kain growled fercely as he drew more power to restore his
energies. That battle had taken more out of his body than he had
thought possible. But now, he felt the familiar energies of the
Jurai on the planet. He chuckled as the power of the dark forces
were absorbed into his body. Silently, he thanked the Alien
Species for sending their genetic mistake to this planet.

The four knights had taken the groups to a side of the
already decimated gardens, slowly coaxing their inner
powers to call espers, monsters and heros through their
own power. Lina stood in the middle of the group,
gathering energy into a small ruby she held in her palm.
The gemstone pulsed and glowed with the energies
needed to summon a monster, esper or hero.
Across the way, Johnathan taught Tenchi, Ryoko,
Ayeka and Gourry how to draw elemental energy from the
surrounding landscape. To everyone’s surprise, Gourry
found he could draw earth and water energy the easiest of
all the non magic users.
Marle came out with a tray of drinks and sandwiches.
Passing them around, she sidled up beside Sarryn and
handed him a cool drink. “Thanks,” he grunted
as he drained the lemonade. “Ahh. That’s a lot better.”
Marle frowned slightly. “I don’t understand you
sometimes.” He turned questioning eyes towards the
slightly angered princess. “You could have told
me about you being a guy.”
Sarryn narrowed his eyes. “Is that all?”
She shook her head, her ponytail swishing around.
“Its just that you haven’t been too truthful since then.”
she turned to glare at him. “How old are you?”
“Four thousand and twenty five next month.” he
replied.
“Really? You look seventeen years old.”
“I like to hide my age.” Turning around, he stared
at the young princess. “It’s a reminder for me.”
    “Reminder?” she asked, confused.
“It...is something I want to remind myself about.
Something happened a thousand years ago and I
just want to remember everything.” he sighed heavily
and hung his head. “I was a good friend of the inner
senshi. One of the most trusted people in the Silver
Millenium for most of the Bronze and Silver ages.
Then...” He hung his head in his hands, a tear rolling
down his face.
“I...I’m sorry. It must have been too personal to
talk about.” she appologized.
“Its okay. Its just that my trip brought back too
many unwanted memories.” he recomposed himself
as he drew himself up to his full height. “How’s the
training going?”
“Most of them have learned the summon spells
just like you and the others taught them. I have the
Shiva spell.”
Sarryn grinned widely. “Ice esper. How appripriate.”
a faint tremor ran throughout the ground. “Kain is
nearly at fighting power. He will come tommorow at
midday at the latest,” he observed.
“Then we will wait. We are good at waiting.”

Chapter 8 : Additions

The four knights walked the roads of the Guardia
highways in 2300 AD. Behind them, trailed Crono,
Lina and Gourry. Gourry and Lina were arguing as
usual with Crono trying to be the peacemaker.
Large sweatdrops rolled down their foreheads
as they walked in front of the squabbling pair. Behind
the whole group, a group of people trailed behind,
towing their accessories that they purchased in the
future.
Farl turned around grumpily. “Shut up you two
before I have to remove your freakin heads from
your freakin shoulders!”
Sarryn created the portal and ushered the workers
through with the equiptment. The Crono stopped
and asked if they were heading back to the present.
Sarryn nodded. “Yeah. But I gotta report in
for a bit.”
    “Report in?” Lina asked curiously.
Johnathan snorted. “He’s going to go and speak
with THE God.
I swear he gets more privilages than we do.”
“You mean...?” Lina asked, fully knowing the
answer.
“Yeah. I gotta go. Hey, J, take ‘em back to 1000.”
His clothes swirled around his body as he lifted into
the heavens with a gust of wind. Ki folded his arms
across his chest and stared up into the sky.
“My brother the demi-god. The story of my life.”

“Bell? Are you here?” His voice echoed around
the deserted office where Belldandy worked.
    “She is not here.”
Sarryn whirled around, his sword already ignited.
He relaxed as he saw the Almighty standing there,
hands stuck in his pockets.
    “Oh sir. Um, where’s Belldandy?”
Kami-sama shook his head jokingly. “She’s off
on earth for extended leave. A kid named Keiichi
Morisato wished for a girlfriend just like Belldandy.”
Kami-sama grinned, “she’s down there now.”
“Oh, um, I just wanted some advice on the next
fight.”

    Three hours later...
The two men, one the creator and the other, a four
thousand year old Silver Millenium resident, were
laughing drunkenly as they slug down shots of Corillian
Brandy. Just then, a teenaged looking man,
with three markings on his forehead and under
his eyes. His forehead was adorned with a diamond
shape with jade hues. Under his eyes were
triangles, moving in a line, straight, running parallel
with his slanted eyes.
His close cropped black hair mixed with his dark
skin. He wore a turquoise suit with a thin sword
strapped to his back. His neck bore
a gleaming white scarf and on the sides of the collar,
he wore a thunderbolt medalion. He took one look in
on the scene and he groaned in dismay. The Kami
was drunk again.
“SIR!” he bellowed. Kami and Sarryn fell out from
their chairs, holding their heads in pain.
    “The agony!” Sarryn groaned.
“Mercy! Uncle! No shout no more!” Kami moaned.
He flapped his hand onto the top of the chair, and
pulled his body back up on the chair. “Gabriel, what
have I told you about shouting when I’m slightly
drunk?”
“Gomen nasai. I came and you and Sarryn were
laughing foolishly.
But in any case, I came to ask a favor sir.”
Kami grunted, fully sober. “Speak my son.”
“I wish to help the Knights of the Round in the
battle.” Gabriel replied.
Kami-sama was silent for a second until he spoke.
“I will allow it to happen, until the final battle. Then,
you cannot interfere.”
    “Understood.”

Kain screamed out his rage as he unleased a bolt
of pure ebony energy towards the small village. It
never stood a chance.
He laughed manically as the winds stirred up the
burning flames in the roasting village. He grinned as
he carved a deep trench in the ground, destroying
the forest in the southern contenant. Jurai will die, as
with all those who would oppose him. He floated at
a slow pace, savoring the dying screams of the
innocents.

The groups lined up, hands at the ready. They
lined up in this order : Johnathan, Lina, Crono,
Gourry, Marle, Sarryn, Zelgadis, Robo, Farl, Amelia,
Magus and Gabriel. They stood at the ready for the
inicial bomardment. A black mist formed at the front
of the group as Ki formed out of the mists.
“Fire the volley when he comes.”
“I don’t think that’s going to be possible,”
Johnathan grunted. “He’s coming with friends.”
A collective cry of SHIT! permiated the air. A
whole legion of demons were running towards them,
headed by a huge Ruby Colored monster...or was it?
“Damn, he’s brought a WEAPON!” Johnathan
cursed. The huge weapon reared back with his claws.
Weapons appeared around the groups.
A glowing thin broad sword was unsheathed.
A glowing sword shot out of a mystical hilt.
The long handle extended to form a double edged
blade from crimson flame.
A small handle formed a large mace from its glowing
contact.
Two blades extended from the jade armor gauntlets.
A hardened sword of metal slipped out of the
wooden sheath as with another thinner sword.
A scythe was brought out from under a dark cloak.
Metal arms went up in defence.
    Iron fists were raised.
A crossbow was unhooked from a back.
    A Wondershot was raised.
A meter long sword of dreamstone was drawn.
And finally, a huge polearm with a halbard/scythe
was extended from a small handle with a flash of
pure radient energy.

Farl Bloodaxe sidestepped the charging demon
and brought his staff sword down his opponents
neck, neatly removing the head from the shoulders.
He proptly rammed the end of the staff end into a
gut, following with a sucession of fist strikes,
flooring the demon behind him. He lit his weapon
and swiped a row of charging monsters, reducing
them to fading ash.
Gourry ran through a group of monsters, a series
of rapid sword strikes, decimating several. He turned
around to block a club strike and immediately drove
his sword into the stomach of a troll, lighting his
sword with freezing energy. It fell to the ground, and
proptly shattered.
Lina tossed off several dozen rapid fire fireballs
and proptly whipped around and cracked a jaw.
She cursed and blasted a charging demon with
a blazing pilliar of flame. “Man, they’re everywhere!
Elmikia Lance!” The green bolt went through a row
of heads.
Frog parted a demon from its soul with a slice of
his thick Masamune. He leapt up and chanted “Leap
Cut!” The blade made demon shishkabob as he ran
through several more unholy creatures.
“Burst Rondo!” Amelia was turning everywhere,
back to back with Lucca blasting several different
foolish monsters. A swipe from a long sabre caught
her attention : and was instantly melted along with
its holder. He cried out in rumbling rage as he melted
into a slag. Lucca blasted a group of monters and
alternated with Fire, Fire2, and Megabomb techniques.
Gabriel slashed his way through the grouped
monsters. He whirled around and slammed his heel
into a row of jaws. He shouted, “Flare Slash!” and
leapt into the air, creating a vortex of heated wind.
Combined with the damp day, a mini tornado formed,
lifting several dozen attackers.
Tenchi came in, his Master Key fully ignited for
attacking. He slashed and carved a pathway into the
demons, Ryoko behind him, finishing off anyone who
survived the first onslaught. She then changed the
energy sword into balls and flung them, incinerating
many. Tenchi leapt up into the air and brought down
the Tenchi-ken hard on a monster. It howled and
lashed back with a hairy fist, catching the Jurain
Prince on the jaw. He stumbled back, woosy, only
to be saved a grusome death by Ryoko who soared
into the air and grasped him, lifting him out of the
melee combat zone.
“KamehameHA!!!” Two more attackers went to
meet their makers courtasy of Sarryn’s KamehameHa
blast. He sent the blade of the polearm into the
ground, shouting : “Blazing fist!” A huge shockwave
of pure Chi hit the rushing monsters and whoever
else was too stupid to get in the way. Wrenching
the Silence Glave replica from the ground, he parted
a soul from its demon inhabitant and followed up
with several attacks, his polearm whirlling around
with killing blows.
    “Lightning2!”
    “Ice2!”
    “Shock!”
Three attacks merged into a giant ray of irridecant
light as the three time wariors fought side by side.
Marle yanked the “borrowed” sword from the corpse
and immediately slashed another one coming up
behind her. Crono decapitated one and impailed
another while charging his sword with lightning for
the extra power. He commented that they were
everywhere.
“No kidding!” Marle shot back while removing a
creature of a nessary limb. “They don’t seem to quit,
do they?”
“I suggest a triple tech is nessary, don’t you
agree?”
Crono shook his head and said that he was too
drained of power to cast a triple tech at the current
point in time.
Robo nodded and Uzi-punched a godless creature
from the playing field.
“Arisha Dist! Giga Volt! Bram Blazer! Fireball!
Elmikia Lance! Elmekia Blade! Flare Arrow!” Lina
was having the time of her life, able to use all these
weapons of destruction. She fried another one and
electrocuted several others. Needless to say, many
of the demons didn’t want to get in her way, hence
the large space around her.
“Soul Blazer!” Two more attacking youma went
to hell by a annoyed and injured teacher. “Flare
Lazer!” Johnathan winced at the pain in his side as
he fired more and more powerful attacks.

Kain floated at the side of the Ruby WEAPON,
grinning manicially. The carnage was inviting as he
drew the energy from the hostility emitting from the
monsters as they died one by one. He luxuriated in
the dark energies to refill his power. “Good, good!
The power is perfect! I have more power than
before!!!” He laughed insanely as the steams of
power flowed into his black shapeless body.

Sarryn grimaced as the increasing power levels in
Kain rose exponentially with the death toll counts.
“Oh shoot. This is not good.” He rose into the air
and enhanced his view with magic. “Chikuso! He’s
drawing energy from the destruction around here!
Everyone pull back!!!”
Farl turned around and stared at him, while
elbowing another in the face. “Whadda mean ‘pull
back’?!”
“We’re only feeding Kain more power! We have
to pull back and fight later!”
“You heard the man!” Johnathan roared, “PULL
BACK!!!”

Kain laughed more as the pathetic humans pulled
away from the fighting. They were running like
ants after the hill was destroyed and he revelled in
their fear.

Authors notes : This is sorta my main project until
I actually get around to writing more of Pokemon 1/2
so don’t expect more updates with the other stories
until this is mostly finished. I’m cutting it off here
for some time since I got some pretty low grades
right now. I’ll work on this later. Ja.

Chapter 9 : Divine interferance

Marle paced the room, her usually stable temper
being pushed to its limits. A distant scream of agony
waffed into the room and she grimaced.
Near the end of the hall, Washu typed frantically
at her virtual computer padds, trying to find that
mythical sword. For a little piece of rock, Washu
thought, its shielded pretty darn good.
Tenchi and Gourry lay on the beds set up in the
corner of the room, their wounds being tended to.
Gourry was healing fast while Tenchi was still trying
to stay in the realm of conciousness. Unlike Gourry,
Tenchi was not really used to melee combat.
Johnathan sat grimly while sipping a cup of tea
Sylpheel had offered him. His side was bandaged
several times over to keep it from bleeding any more.
Ki and Magus stayed in the shadows, drawing
power from its inviting darkness. Both were stotic,
their faces showing no emotion. During the fight,
Ki had regressed back to his dark former self, not
caring about anything but when to strike, leathaly
and quickly.
Sarryn finished casting a full Heal4 around the
room, mending most of the injuries inflicted on
several of the fighters. Sylpheel also added her
white magic powers to help with the recovery
process. Outside, screams wafted into the room.
sending cold shivers down everyone’s spines.
Upstairs, Crono stood, watching as the huge
Ruby WEAPON was rampaging in the southern
continant, its hulking red form distinct across the
blood red sky. Marle came up behind him, and
wrapped a scarf around his neck.
“Take it,” she said quietly, “its still cold out.”
Crono grudgingly accepted the scarf, its warmth
encircling his muscled neck, relaxing the tention
built up during the fight. He uttered a thanks and
turned his gaze back onto the devistation already
scarring the lands.
Marle opened her mouth to say something but
thought better of it. She turned around and walked
back inside the castle.
As she decended the stairs, the familiar form of
Sarryn’s female body met her on the stairs. Atchika,
as Sarryn liked to be called in her new body, was
smiling sadly. “How’d it go?” she asked.
“Fine,” Marle replied, decending the stairway.
    “How’s he doing?”
“He’s doing better,” came the answer.
Atchika sighed and stopped the blonde on the
steps. “Something’s bothering you. What is it?”
Marle looked hurt for a second but then her
face hardened into a grim mask. “We’ve destroyed
Lavos in this era. But...what if something happens
again? What if Kain is able to destroy us? Then what
will happen to all the inoccents? Will they suffer as
the people of the old future did?!” By now, she was
shouting out, not caring on who heard her cries.
Marle buried her face in the taller girls shoulder,
crying. Atchika wrapped her arms around the girl
and whispered conforting words to her. The sobbing
lasted into the night.

Washu downed her sixty-seventh cup of Juraian
coffee blend that Sasami had given her and resumed
typing at the keyboard. Soon, her computer beeped as
it locked onto a faint energy pattern near the Truce
Town. Washu grinned, locked the computer into a
scanning procedure, and immdiately fell asleep.

Dawn broke into the sky of Guardia, its reddish hues
from the battle before giving way to a serene blue sky.
Down at the entrance to the Guardia forest, three people
stood, shouldering digging materials and lamps.
Crono beconed and they started to walk towards his
house. Last night, Washu found a small temple under
where Crono’s family had built the house. The entrance
was behind his house, buried under several meters of
rock and dirt.
Upon reaching the house, Crono went inside and came
out a few minutes later, his mother trailing behind him.
Crono’s mother bowed low. “Konichiwa! My son said
that a temple is buried under our house, is that correct?”
“Yes ma’am it is. We would like to dig under
your house where we discovered the entrance
to the temple.”
“Of course, just go right ahead and dig.”

    Three hours later...
    “Hey I found it!”
Marle’s cry brought Sarryn and Crono to where
Marle was staring at a door, etched with a symbol
of three triangles in a large triangle pattern. Crono
looked at the symbol and asked what it was.
Sarryn looked at it and blink-blinked. He then
groaned. “It had to be them. Only they could do
something like this.”
“What is it?” Marle asked, curious.
“Bell, Skuld and Urd decided to play a little joke
on us,” was the reply. “They sealed it with their
little Triforce symbol. Now how’d that song go?”
He pulled out a Oricania from his pouch and
played a Lullaby. The symbol flared and the heavy
stone doors opened with a groan of rusty hinges.
He flipped the Oricania and stuffed it back into
storage space. The trio dencended into the dark
depths.

“You think they’ll be okay?” Gourry asked.
“Don’t worry they’ll be fine,” Lina responded.
“But what if something bad happens to them?”
“They can handle whatever comes at them.”

In contradiction to what Lina said, the three
were running away from a freakin huge Octopus,
which was taking potshots at their backs.

“I’m sure they’re fine,” Lina commented while
leaning back on the wall.

The three were swinging Indiana Jones style
across a pit of venimous snakes.

“Don’t worry. If they can survive, anyone can.”

Clip of them screaming as a legion of the undead
are converging on their co-ordanates. Flamethrowers
are immdiately put into use.

“I mean, what’s the worst thing they could
encounter in that dark, dank temple?”

They were running from a purple dinosaur in sheer
terror, who was trying to be their friend. A blast of
flame took it right out as its carcas was roasted to
tenderness.

Marle, Crono, and Sarryn were gasping for air,
while leaning on the stone walls. This was too
much.
“The snakes were fine, the rolling boulders
were okay. Even the undead were better than
demons!” Marle took a big breath and screamed
with a huge head, “BUT THE PURPLE DINOSAUR
I WILL NOT TAKE!!!!!!”
“Look on the b-bright side,” Sarryn gasped, “what
more can they throw at us?”
A legion of monkeys with huge mallets came
a-chargin in, their faces marked with insanity. Sarryn
facefaulted.
“Hmph.” Marle grunted, “did you have to ask?”
Crono grumbled and yoinked the author into the
story, and threatended him to flip to the next scene.
    The author hastily complied.

A circle with the Triforce symbol stood in the
center of the room, a marble blade standing out from
the center of the symbol. Sarryn snorted. “Very
funny guys,” he muttered.
Crono nodded and stepped up to the sword,
grasped the handle... and was immediately thrown
back by a shockwave of power. Marle rushed
to his side, nursing his sore ribs.
Sarryn readied a Wall spell and grasped the handle.
The shockwave of power pushed him back a step
as it made the room shake. He frowned. “Wierd,”
was the comment. “it’s rejecting us. That never
happened before.”
Crono asked what was going on.
“The sword is rejecting us from taking it out
from the stone. I think its waiting for someone
else.” He then looked thoughtful. “Maybe if
I try this song...”
The Royal Lullaby once again floated into
the air as he played the sweet notes. The air
shimmered as it displayed the face of a familiar
black haired woman.
    “Sylpheel?”

“Are you sure about this?” Sylpheel asked
nervously. She stood in front of the sword,
nervously twiddling her thumbs.
“I’m sure Sylpheel. The image was of you.
You must be the one to pull the sword.” Sarryn
folded his arms to punctuate the sentance.
Lina and Zelgadis stood off to the side. Lina
was complaining loudly since she couldn’t pull
the sword from the monolith. Zel was sorely
tempted to bash the shrimpy sorceress into
next week.
Sylpheel steeled herself and slowly reached
for the sword. She reached out and grasped the
handle, her eyes shut tightly. Nothing happened.
She curled her fingers around the sword and
added another hand. Bracing herself on the stone,
she inhaled sharply...and pulled the sword out
from the stone. It flared brightly as the marble
sword reformed into a graceful blade, worthy
of a womans hands. Sylpheel smiled and taking
a unknown power, she grasped a casing for
it and sheathed the lengthy sword at her side.
Everyone applauded as Sylpheel bowed low,
her face flushed with excitement. Amelia laughed
and hugged her friend. “Great job Miss Sylpheel!
You’ve done it!!!”
Sylpheel nodded and hugged back. “I did,
didn’t I?”
“Wow, so that’s the Sword we’ve been looking
for huh?” Gourry asked.
Lina groaned. “Gourry you moron, that’s not
the sword we’re looking for!”
“Actually it is,” came the reply from Zelgadis.
“that sword is a legendary Holy Sword. Though
it looks different from what I thought it would.”
“That’s because it’s only a quarter of the full
sword.” Johnathan nodded sagely at the others
expressions. “the sword is actually one of the
elemental blades, needed to be combined with
the other three swords. The four elements plus
a Spiritual Element are needed to change all of
them into one sword.”
“So, this sword is only one of four weapons?”
Sylpheel asked.
    “Indeed.”
Lucca yawned loudly. “I don’t know what you
guys are going to do now but I need more sleep.”
Yoshu nodded. “We all do. Come, let us leave
this place.”
They turned to go but as they opened the door,
the scary purple dinosaur chased them back inside
the room. Tenchi and Yoshu slammed the door
shut.
“I thought you guys killed it!!!” Tenchi yelled,
frightened.
“PBS is keeping it alive!!!” Farl yelled back,
equally scared.
Gabriel nodded and started chanting. Soon, the
room filled with sparkly light as a blue light rose
from the ground. “Gabriel Express now boarding
for the trip back up above ground. Allll aboard!!”
They wasted no time getting back above ground.

“The planets are aligned...the time is right...” one
said.
“Everything is as told...the time is right...” another
agreed.
“We must be wary of things to come....”
another said.
“All things are in harmony...in two years...
everything will be as fortold in the legends...”
the first voice added.
“To succeed, they will loose one close to
them...the time is now... ‘till all are one.”
    “Till all are one...”
    “Till all are one...”

Sylpheel swung the sword around, its weight
not holding any strain on her arms. The sword
felt light, an extention of her arm itself. Her mind
and body was in harmony with the wind as it
shrieked when the keen length of silver flowed
through the air. She smiled and swung the sword
around, her mind and body focused as one.
    Then she woke up.
Sylpheel looked around the bedroom in the
Guardia Royal Castle. She had taken the dark
embrace of warmth in the room to quell her
nervousness. In all her life, Sylpheel had never
used a sword before and was quite adament
about using a sword in an upcoming battle.
True, she would never be able to fight normally
with the sword as in her dreams, but she alone
could hold the weapon. But they were relying on
her to fight. Silently, she wished that something
could make everything turn out right.
Sylpheel turned over and went to sleep in the
wake of an inqusitive owl looking in her room
from a branch, hooting softly.

The breakfast table was, for the destruction
outside and most of the others moods, bright
and cheerful. Sasami, the cooks and Crono’s
mother were serving breakfast and many dug
into the food. At one end, Ryoko, Lina, and
Gourry were tearing into the food, as well
as fighting over the last noodles that were
in the bowl in front of them.
The other end heraled Tenchi, Ayeka,
Yoshu who were eating at a more civilized
pace. The rest of the members of the other
two teams were eating more quickly, ready to
train some more before they decided to take
on the Ruby WEAPON that Kain had
somehow drawn out of sleep, deep in the earth.
Everyone ate, chatting animatedly as more
food was brought out for everyone. Soon,
the table was cleared and each person went out
to train for the next battle.

Sarryn hovered over the fountain, his legs
in a lotus position and his eyes closed. He
felt the rushing of the water, the songs of the
birds, the serene sky and earth, and then...
the pain of the scarred world crying out for
the help it needed. Soon, another person
floated up and “sat down” beside him. It
was Gabriel.
    “Hey, whatcha thinking?” he asked.
“Nothing much,” Sarryn replied. “only that
if we fail, then this world is dust.”
“You sure are looking on the dark side,”
Gabriel commented lightly.
Sarryn grinned, “I guess that being as old
as I am can make you a little senile.”
“Senile? You? In about another four thousand
years.”
Sarryn laughed, albit forced. He then looked
out into the patches of dark land. “I can feel
the lands agony. How much more can it take?
If things continue...I’ll have to use my last
resort spell.”
Gabriel’s eyes widened in shock and grasped
his friends shoulders, spinning him around to
look at him. “NO!” he yelled, “there is no WAY
you’re going to use that spell!!! It’s too dangerous!
A scarifice spell like that could kill you!!! I won’t
allow it!!!”
“Gabriel, listen!! LISTEN DAMMIT! If the
situation requires my life to save it, then so be
it. I’m sorry.” Sarryn stood up from his floating
position and spun up back into the clouds, to
fly aimlessly like he used to in the Silver
Millenium.

Sylpheel swung the sword again, its weight
unusually light. An extention of her arm. Its
keen blade parted the air like a hot knife through
butter. The sword was fashioned to her arms
length, giving her extentions where there was
not enough length to it. She swung the weapon,
the weight draining from her arms. She felt free
and danced around, the sword moving in a
kata, that would make most weapon masters
green with envy. She smiled and used the
sword against practice dummies, the weapon
seperating each part with grace and precision.
Sylpheel smiled and sheathed the sword.
And this was not a dream.

Authors notes : This was my original intent to
let only Sylpheel be able to use the sword. In
fact, it works nicely to the drama in this story.
Till next chapter. Ja.

Chapter 10 : From Dusk to Dawn

The forest glave was slent with the songs
of birds singing sweetly in the light of dawn.
The water rushed through the stream banks,
the earth produced more shoots and soft
green grass.
    It didn’t last.
In an instant, the purple energy flashed out,
carving a deep trench in the forest. More bolts
fell from the now reddish purple sky. By now,
all the residents of the smaller towns had taken
up residence in the castle, pushing its resorces
to the limit.
Kain growled and unleashed another bolt
of energy, hoping to find something of use in
the earth. For much of the time spent on Guardia,
he had felt a power source he could try to use.
But now, it was gone. He howled his frustration
to the uncaring sky and unleashed a huge bolt
of energy at the castle. The bolt streaked along
its path, and struck a forcefield, shaking the
land around it.

Inside, the tremors fell most of the soldiers
to their knees as the vibrations shook the
castle violently. Marle stumbled up the steps
towards her fathers bedroom. Inside, her
father was sitting at the window, his rugged
face tight, drawn and weary. He looked much
older than he really was.
“Marle, the attacks are resuming,” he said,
not turning around. “what is your plan?”
“We are still trying to find out if we can
draw him into a void or drain his powers. To
beat Kain, we have to sever his ties to the
negative energies taken from this world.”
The king nodded slowly. “That could be
done with a huge surge of positive energy
but I doubt even in this Kingdom there is
enough positive energy to overwhelm Kain’s
powers.”
Marle studied her toes while rocking slightly.
“I know the feeling,” she whispered. “But
nonethertheless, we have to fight him, no matter
what he does.”
The king was silent when Marle turned to
go but he stood and cleared his throat. Marle
turned around, waiting for what he was about
to say. “Nadia,” he spoke slowly, “I want you
to have this,” he handed her a small ring. “it
was your mothers. And I want you to keep this
on you to give you strength. Be careful darling.”
King Guardia pulled his daughter into a tight
hug. After a minute, Marle pulled herself away
and left.

“The most powerful magic and physical fighters
will attack the Ruby WEAPON at the already
devistated Porre Town. There we can minimize
civilian casualties. Half of you will distract
Kain’s forces with an attack at the town just before
the Zenan Bridge. The rest will gather with the
Guradia Army that have come here through our
Time Gates and reinforce you at these co-ordanates.”
Sarryn tapped a small area near the back of the
bridge. “There, will be our last defence save for
Tenchi, Yoshu and Washu. You three will use
the Light-Hawk Wings and Washu’s technology
if you see fit to do so. Any questions?” A low
mummur went through the crowd. Sarryn smiled
grimly. “This will be a tough battle but our
last stand is now. The WEAPON team will be
Crono, Ayla, Robo, myself, Lina, Gourry, Zel and
Johnathan. Sylpheel will be our ace in the hole
so she will be kept back as a healer until Kain
makes his move. Lets go.”

“Well here comes the unholy butthole now!
Thanks for burning everything down you stupid
bitch!”
Everyone stared at Johnathan strangely. He
grinned and said, “it’s from South Park. Lets
move!”
The Ruby WEAPON reared back and jammed
its claws into the dirt. A slight tremor moved under
their feet and its claws poked out from the back.
“Watch it! It’ll try to use its quicksand attack!
First volley now!!!”
Lina grew an exponentialy huge fireball in her
hands. “Fireball!”
The enormous ball of flame struck the WEAPON
and it reared back, a burn mark clear in its armor.
    Johnathan grinned. “BLAST ASH!!!”
    The attacks continued. “FREEZE ARROW!”
    “Ice Sword2!”
    “Triple Kick!”
    “Demonic Crystal!”
    “White Flamethrower!”
    “Uzi-punch!”
Bolts of fire, ice, enchanced kicks, shamanism,
white flame and punches assulted the huge weapon.
It was pushed back a few steps, its armor battered
and broken. The WEAPON roared and slammed
its claws into the ground, and its voice rumbled
like a thunderstorm. “Earthquake,” was the attack
phrase.

Streams of power blasted out into the fray,
turning most of the rampaging trolls into smoking
piles of dust. Aerial assults were used by the
flying magic users as they rained down bolts of
destructive power atop the monsters. The battle
raged while many guards fell, only to be dragged
away towards the back lines where Amelia and
Sylpheel were tending to the wounded.
Sylpheel’s hands were shaking at all the
carnage she felt in the air. The power was not
unlike Rezo when he took on the powers of the
mist demon Zanifar. Her hand went instinctively
to the graceful curved blade of marble hanging
from her belt for support. The handle felt cool,
inviting to be used for the good of this planet.
She smiled slightly. But this time, there was
no humor in the smile, only grim realization.
Amelia found herself looking at Sylpheel,
her face twitching slightly in nervousness. She
had only seen that smile once before : they were
at the ruins of the new and old Syrrag, fighting
Zanifar/Rezo for the good of mankind. Sylpheel
had helped everyone recover and during the
healing process, Amelia had asked her about
what she was smiling about.

“Miss Sylpheel? Why are you smiling?”
“Oh? Just thinking of what would have
happened if we had to fight to the bitter
end.”
Amelia felt a chill go up her spine. “And
what was the thought exactly?”
“Just thinking what would happen if Rezo
had to deal with a Dragon Slave up close and
personal.” she answered in a low tone.
Amelia “eep”ed and backed off slightly.

Snapping out of her flashback, Amelia
stood and walked over to another group of
people to tend their wounds, at the same time,
casting nervous glances at Sylpheel.

    “Hurricane Force!”
The hurricane force winds slammed the still
quite alive Ruby WEAPON back a few steps.
It chuckled and opened its mouth to unleash
a breath weapon. Fortunately, the attack took
several seconds to power up and by the time
he had shot the attack, the remaining three :
Lina, Gourry and Sarryn, were able to dodge
the attack with minimal injuries.
“Man he never gives up, does he?” Lina
commented.
“He’s tougher than rock,” Gourry noted, while
hefting his sword.
Sarryn pushed himself up with his sword and
brought his hands together. “Rage of the wind,
fire and earth, combine and work as one! Encase
Coccon!!!”
As one, tenticles of fire, water and earth snaked
up under the WEAPON, encasing it a hard shell
of diamond hard crystal. Sarryn breathed a sigh
of relief. “That should give us more time to fight,”
he said while leaning on his sword for support.
“Yeah but he’s starting to break free!”
A shard of crystal fell from the stone, followed
by more. Sarryn snapped his fingers in annoyance.
“Can’t he stay down for once?!” he groused, upset.
Lina narrowed her eyes and started the oh so
familiar chant for the Dragon Slave. Just then,
with a once-in-a-lifetime flash of insparation, Gourry
had an idea.
“I know! Light Come Forth!!!” The blade of
hardened will burst from the sword and he started
to run. By now, Lina was into the near end of the
spell.
“Let those who oppose us be destroyed! With
thine spiritual power held within my hand,
symbolizing the power you and I hold!!!” She
then remembered a vague memory from a couple
of years ago. ‘This seems familiar somehow.’ she
mused to herself. The beam of power flowed into
Gourry’s sword and multiplied by a factor of a
hundred. “DRAGON SLAVE!!!”
The sword cut through the crystal, rendering
the whole thing to dust. When the swordsman
stepped away, the form of Ruby WEAPON
burst out of the crystal, its body starting
to evaporate. They celebrated wildly but
suddenly, they felt a sharp pike in the magic
streams. Even Gourry, who was normally
brain dead, could feel it.
    “Kuso! An Desperation Strike!!! Everyone
get back!”
Sarryn’s warning came too late as the beam
of ruby colored power lanced out, and
destroyed....

    “My god,” Sylpheel whispered.

“Kami-sama save us,” Lina croaked out.

    “No...” Johnathan rasped.

    “Father....”

    “Washu....Ayeka....Sasami....Grandfather....”

Crono blinked several times, unbelieving what
had happened but then started to chant a prayer
sent down by his family thoughout the ages for
the loved deceased.

The once proud Guardia Castle...was totally
disintrigrated mercilessly. Its burnt out husk
devoid of all life within. Marle stepped up in
front of the group, the monsters retreating
from the battle scarred lands.
She stared up into the sky...and screamed
out her pain to the cold uncaring night sky.

Authors notes : Washu, Yoshu, Ayeka, Sasami
and other favorite charecters are dead. But I
still promise a happy ending. Trust me, they
will live...They will live. Oh yes, they WILL live.

Chapter 11 : Ashes of Eden

    “NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The mornfull cry echoed around the sky as
the Princess of Guardia, the only living Royal
family member, and the sole heir of the Throne
collapsed on the blood stained ground, sobbing
her eyes out.
Across the way, Crono pushed his way through
the crowd, and let Marle drape herself over his
shoulders. Crono hefted her in her arms and asked
where they could stay someplace safe.
Lucca shook her head. “there’s nowhere safe
anymore Crono.” She looked around, flames
licking the sides of the forest and the hulk
of Ruby WEAPON in the southern contenant.
“At least, if we find shelter, then we might be
able to sleep for about two hours before fighting
again.”
“I know a place,” Sarryn said from the rear.
“But it will take most of my power to get there.”
    “Where is it?” Lina asked.
“It is a planet far from here. The remnants of
my old family live there and it will be safe from
Kain for a while. But then after regaining our
strength, we must go back.”
“You mean earth?” Tenchi asked, wiping his
tears from his face.
“Exactly. I can find shelter from my friends
there and family. But when I left earth a few
days ago, all memory of my being there was
eraced within a half hour. So I’ll have to find
my little sister.”
“Little sister? I thought you were four
thousand years old!” Lucca joked in an effort
to lighten the mood.
“Har har,” he forced out, “seriously though,
they are reincarnated.”
“But I don’t want to leave,” Marle choaked
out.
Crono agreed and said that they couldn’t
abandon the planet after all they fought for.
Sarryn sighed. “Well there is one way we
can save the planet and I’m ready to do it
but...”
    “B...but what?” Marle asked.
“It would take my life to cast. Its the Eternal
Dragon Assention Blaze. It’s my forbidden spell
which would take the expenditure of all my power.
Including my life force.”
“I never knew...” Lina mummured silently.
“Is it that powerful?” Amelia asked.
“It is. I had tried it before...and I was nearly
dead when I used it the last time before sealing
the spell up into the back of my mind. It has
the power to restore life, fix the surroundings,
and even compress time into a tight ball for
an instant. In all exactivity, it’s more powerful
than the Light-Hawk Wings, The Crystal of
the Silver Millenium, and the Giga Slave.”
Tenchi gulped at the amount of raw power
one could do with that spell, exacting its horrible
price on the casters life itself.
“I am ready to use it...but first, we must go
to earth.” The white knight drew his sword and
started to chant in latin. Soon, the chanting was
been made for all the ears present.
“Winds on the four corners of the earth,
come to me as one. The life of all things preserved
into a small power within this blade. The mighty
heavens, the meek earth. All the souls of human
kind are strong. Give this weapon power from the
stars and let its blade cut through the fabric of
space and time itself.” He moved the blade in a
wide circle and cut two streaks through it, in a
X motion. The power glowed bright blue as he
held his hands to the glowing circle. “X-Zone,”
he whispered.
The symbol glowed and sprung to life, the
four flaps bursting out with liquid energy. The
teenager sighed and gestured the other gaping
people through the portal.

Hino Rei looked up from her fire, her higher
level psychic sences sencing spiritual energy.
A LOT of spiritual energy. She reached out with
her mind and tried to touch the power flow. She
could catch a glimpse of a young man, a petite
red head, a spikey haired red head and a teenager
with close cropped hair and a thin ponytail trailing
down the back. Then the images stopped and the
fire burned down to its normal height. Rei took in a
deep breath and steeled herself. They felt powerful,
so powerful that they could destroy this planet.
Four months ago was the battle with Pharaoh 90
and the Snow Queen. Hotaru had grown up back into
a young girl but she seriously doubted that if Hotaru
transformed into Sailor Saturn, she couldn’t control
her powers just yet.
Rei turned towards the sacred fire to gain more
answers from its cleansing flame.

“Hi. We need lodging for about two weeks.”
The hotel manager eyed the man in white critically.
“Sir,” he said slowly, “this is a five star hotel. You
can not get a room without prior reservation.”
Sarryn leaned over and stared the hawk nosed man
in the eye. “We’ve had a bad day and I’d just like to
get some rest. Here’s a ruby, and knock yourself out.”
He pressed a gemstone into the manager’s hand
and the hawk nosed man went from suspicious to
bowing and scraping. “Yes sir!!! Five suites will be
prepared for you and your entonague. Marvin!”
A thin bellboy ran up, “yes’r?”
“Take these people up to the suites 100 to 105. You
know the drill.”

Lina flopped back on the bed, extremely tired
from the attack. She noted the dimming sunlight
in Toyko and found the city charming. Amelia
and Sylpheel came in the door and looked out
the huge window.
“Wow, it’s so big out there,” Amelia
commented.
Sylpheel nodded and undid her cape, “it is,
I’m glad we got a room with this sort of view.”
“Who cares about the view?” Lina spoke
from the bed, “the food has got to be good.
Speaking of which, since we’re living off of
Sarryn’s money, we might as well eat in the
dining room downstairs.” Lina then thought of
something. “Speak of the devil, where is Sarryn
anyways?”
“Mr. Excalibur said he had something to go
and do. Said something about fullfilling his
destiny,” Amelia replied.

    *Knock knock*
Michiru Kaiou rose from her position on the
couch, treading silently across the plush carpet
of the apartment. She peeked out the door to
see a young kid, about Hotaru’s age.
Unlaching the chain, she swung the door
open. “Yes?” she asked.
The little boy turned cute eyes up to her. “Miss?
Is Hotaru in? I’m a classmate.”
Michiru was prepared for many questions but
none so amazing as one of Hotaru’s classmates
coming to her home. “Of course...” she said slowly.
“I’ll go get her.”
Soon, the little purple eyed girl came down the
hall, sufficently prepared for any teasing this boy
was about to inflict on her. Instead, he smiled and
asked, “are you Hotaru Tomoe?”
“Yes, and you might be?” she asked.
“I’m Eric Garin, I’m a philipino student in your
school.” He looked up to the older turquoise haired
girl standing near the kitchen door. “May I please
speak with Hotaru alone for a minute?”
Michiru thought it over. “I guess it couldn’t
hurt. Go ahead.”
Once Hotaru closed the door, she whirled on him,
ready for any teasing. After a second, one of her eyes
flitted open, only to be met with a curious look from
the young boy. hotaru visibly relaxed.
“Since you’re finished tencing, I’d like to show you
seomthing.” He closed his eyes and concentrated, a
deep purple sigil appearing on his forehead. Hotaru
gasped and stared. The sigil was of the planet Saturn.
    “How...who are you?” she asked.
‘Look deep inside Hotaru-chan,’ a small voice came
from deep within her mind. ‘remember me. Please.’
Hotaru thought back, her memories of the Silver
Millenium. Playing as a young girl with her brother,
meeting Princess Serenity. Becoming the Senshi
of Death and Life. Earning the title of Master
Scientest along with her cousin Ami, or better
known as Senshi Mercury. she remembered.
Hotaru blinked, “Sarryn?” she asked quitely.
    The child nodded. “It’s me...Imoto.”
Hotaru choaked back a tear and flung her arms
around her brother. He hugged back with equal
fevor. Hotaru cried quietly, resting her head on
his shoulder. Sarryn whispered words of
confidence and support as the tears flowed
from her face.

Kain roared out his frustration as another town
bit the dust. Where the hell had those wretched
humans gone with the Juraian family?! They couldn’t
have gotten far. With a resigned sigh, he settled
for blowing the whole countryside to rubble.

A shrine atop a hill heraled a elderly woman who’s
small form hidden a enormous power inside it. She
was known as Genkai. To her student Urameshi Yusuke,
she was known as Master. As of this moment, the
Master of Reiki was nervously pacing the stone
walkway in front of the temple. Something was not
right, someone with enormous Reiki, even more than
Yusuke was prowling the streets of Toyko, ready
to go off like a time bomb. Botan had dropped off at
the temple a while ago, saying that a man with enough
power more than many Youkai and maybe more had
showed up. To this, the others had ran off, looking
for the man with this sort of power. Botan had said she
would check with the offices to see if they had a record
of him on file. She hadn’t returned in over five hours.
Yukina, a Ice Maden, peeked out of the doors of
the home, her young features creased with worry.
After Botan had left along with the others, she could
feel quite a lot of power building in Toyko. She only
hoped that nothing as drastic as King Yakomo were
threatening this place.

“We’ve been searching for over five freakin hours
and still this thing hasn’t appeared! Arugh!!!”
Kuwabara was not having a good day. Neither was
Yusuke for that matter, his eardrums being hammered
by the taller mans griping.
“Shut up Kuwabara before I’ll have to hurt you,”
he grated out through clenched teeth.
Kuwabara sniffed and turned his head skyward...
only to see a young girl fly across the sky. With no
oar transport. Kuwabara did the most logical thing
to a man who faced many demons, battled the
Demon King Yakomo, and went to Sasharashi
College would do. He freaked.
Yusuke suddenly found his sight suddenly
removed as a babbling Kuwabara clamped to
his face, nearly pulling him over on his back.
“Getoffame!” Yusuke heaved the bigger man
off his face with his Youkai strength and set
him on the grass. Kuwabara had, by now, passed
out from oxygen deprivation.
“Typical,” Yusuke grumbled, “he sees something
and he passes out. You’d think he saw a ghost.”
“Or a reasonable facimile to it,” joked a voice
behind him. Kurama and Hiei came up behind the
demon hybrid, chuckling at Kuwabara’s predicament.
Well, Kurama was the only one laughing. But he
was the one laughing hard. “What’s with the great
and mighty Kuwabara huh? He saw a ghost and
passed out from fright?”
“Be nice,” Hiei muttered under his breath, too low
for anyone to hear him.
“Actually, he saw a girl fly overhead,” chimed
in Botan who just appeared in the sky overhead.
“That girl Kuwabara saw was the girl we’ve been
looking for.”
    “Where’s she headed?” Yusuke asked.
“Towards the Nerima district. And she seemed
like she was in a hurry.”
Yusuke sighed. They were in for a looooong
night.

Shampoo Lao, the great grandaughter of the
Matriach of the Chinese Village of Amazons,
was currently wiping down the tables in the
Nekohanten when a young girl walked into the
resturant.
    “Nihao! Welcome to Nekohanten. Shampoo
take order, yes?”
The girl smiled and sat down. “One deluxe
Ramen bowl, extra beef. And i’d like to speak
with Cologne.”
Shampoo blinked. The Ramen order was
customary. But speaking with Cologne was
another thing. “Alright, Shampoo go get.”
Soon her order came and Atchika set about
eating the Ramen order. In a few minutes, the
elderly woman pogoed into the room on her
cane. She stood in front of the table, looking
at the newcomer. “You said you wanted to
speak with me?” Cologne asked.
Atchika nodded and finished her Ramen.
“I did honored Matriarch,” came the reply.
Cologne raised an eyebrow. “Indeed, and
what buisness do you have with me?”
“Just wanted to check out a familiar Ki signiture
in the area,” the girl replied. “You of all people should
recognize mine.”
Cologne narrowed her eyes ans stared intently for
a few minutes until she shook her head. “I don’t feel
any power coming from you girl. Are you sure we
have met before?”
“Quite frankly, yes. If you want...” she trailed off
as another familiar siginiture zoomed past with a hoard
of shrieking women on its tail. Her eyebrow twitched
in frustration. “The lecher is still alive?! I though I
maimed him for life!”
This comment sparked a memory in Cologne’s mind
as vague instances with a young black haired girl came
to the surface.
Atchika turned her attention towards the old woman.
“I guess I should prove my familiarity towards you.”
With that, she raised her power levels to maximum.
Every martial artist in the whole district staggered
under the power she was giving off.
After Cologne had readjusted her composure, she
smiled. This smile however was to be kindly, not
to scare children. “Atchika,” she said, “it’s been a
long time.”
“Very long Cologne-chan,” Atchika replied. “I
see you’ve aged somewhat.”
“And you haven’t aged a day,” Cologne countered.
“I see that keeping your training up has given you
a very youthful body.”
“Not exactly. I age normally but I use my magic
reserves to change from body to body, keeping my
youthful looks intact. Saves constant training time.
Especially what has happened now.”
Cologne nodded and sat down across from the
immortal. “And what is it that happened, pray tell?”
“Kain survived the last battle in 1977. He is now
attacking another world. My team and our friends
are now here for some sanctuary until we find
out how to defeat Kain once and for all.”
“I see. And you are here to tell me what?”
Sarryn sighed, reverting back to his normal form.
“Only you will remember this talk. In 1992, I will
return to reclaim the Flare Sabre from the temple of fire
in Mount Fiji. It may take my life to do so, praying
that I do not cast the ultimate spell in this last fight.”
“And if you do? Then what?” Cologne asked.
“I will appoint another with my powers until
I can return to the mortal plane to regain my
full power levels again.”
Cologne grew silent for a second until she spoke,
“Then you should pass it down to Shampoo.”
Sarryn shook her head, “Shampoo is not part of
this battle. If she gains the Holy Powers, the little
one will not know how to use them correctly. Many
a technique is very dangerous and powerful. No
telling what she would do with my powers.”
“True,” Cologne mused, “but she is of your
line.”
Sarryn groaned, “Don’t remind me. I think I made
a mistake coming back to visit the tribe. Rinse wanted
to fight me.”
“And you won,” Cologne pointed out.
“Yeah but that was before I found out that she was
your grandaughter.”
Cologne snickered slightly before recomposing her
stern demeanior. “In any case, if you come back to
visit later, then look us up. Shampoo will probably be
married to her fiancee anyways.”
Sarryn arched his eyebrow. “Really? Who was the
unlucky sap who defeated her?”
This earned a sharp rap on his skull. “The ‘unlucky
sap’ in question is Ranma Saotome.”
“Ranma Saotome? I think I remember that name
somewhere.”

Flashback : Its in Ranma’s old boys school. Sarryn
is one of the teachers, who is trying to teach both
Ranma and Ryoga the fundamentary physics. This
ended up in the useage of a Stone Glare technique.
Ranma and Ryoga are stone statues for the rest of
the class.

“Oh yeah, I remember! I taught Ranma and his friend
Ryoga in their old school. Had to seperate them several
times.” Sarryn remised.
“So you taught the lost boy? I have too. In fact...”
A loud shout of RANMA PREPARE TO DIE!!!
echoed across the street as the building known as Ucchan’s
Okonomiyaki-ya shook with the sounds of martial artists
fighting. Sarryn blinked while checking over his shoulder
at the fighting. “This happens often?”
“Every day. Sometimes, Son in Law has done something
to anger one of his fiancee’s and it turns into a full fist fight.”
“Multiple fiancee’s? He isn’t of Yoshu’s line, is he?”
“I haven’t checked. But if he is of Juraian decent, then
this will work out nicely.” Cologne grinned, “this could
have merit if he is.”
“I’ll check. We’ll be heading back in about a week. Only
a couple of days should have passed by when we go back.”
“Good. I will drop by in a couple of days.”
Sarryn nodded and stood, heading out the door. “See
ya Cologne!”
“Take care great grandson,” came the reply.

Authors notes : Sarryn’s been around a long time, and he
seems to bring everything down on himeself. Strange, ne?

Chapter 12 : From Death and Beyond

    Sarryn woke up screaming.
It had happened every day for the last week the
crew were on earth. The same dream, a huge dragon
looming in the background, the gastly shape of
Metallia to his back, the horrible laughter of Kain
and Beryl, and other things were springing into his
mind.
He stumbled into the bathroom and splashed his
face several times to relieve some of the cold sweat
running down his face. Soon, he was able to return
to bed, still restless after the obligitory nightmare.

Marle looked withdrawn as she always did after
they had fled Guardia. Her crystal blue eyes were
dead, void of life instead of the happy sparkle in
them. She had dreams, no, she could call them
visions. They were always the same, the planet
calling out to her as a dome of white light burst
from the surface. The white void where she saw
her life played across from scene to scene. The
eventual blackness. And finally, the bracelet.
Marle had no idea what the bracelet was about.
She supposed it represented her bond with the
planet or something like that. But after a repeating
monitone of the same dream, she was tired from
trying to figure out its meaning.

Tenchi ate silently at the breakfast table, trying
to figure out what had become of his life. One
day he was a normal teenaged boy with a average
success rate with females. Now, he had too many
to handle. Ryoko was his best friend after sixteen
years watching him. Ayeka and Sasami were normal
grindings of reality into the otherwise Anime-style
life he had. Mihoshi was entertainment, plain and
simple, and Kiyone was mature and a great friend.
Washu, excempting the fact she was Ryoko’s
mother was great fun to be around, without the
random experiment done on him. Sadly, he wondered
what life would be like if he lost the rest like he
lost Washu, his grandfather, Ayeka and Sasami.

Lina Inverse slept rather peacefully. She woke up
in her dream, in a familiar forest and an elderly man
sitting down at the waters edge. Lina thought hard
on his name and then, she kicked him into the waters
edge, laughing.
Rouudy Gabriev clambered onto the edge of the
bank, gasping for air. “Why’d you do that for?” he
asked.
“It’s been a while Rouudy,” she said while sitting
down beside him. “So how’s the afterlife?”
“Oh I’m not dead, I’m hiding in the islands.”
“What?! And here I was trying to conpensate
myself from your death!! No thanks to you!”
Rouudy laughed, “If you’re trying to mourn my
passage after two years, then there’s no use trying.
Have you met my great grandson? He’s quite the
swordsman.”
“Not really,” she mused, “if he’s anything like you,
he has got to be powerful and gallant.”
Rouudy bigsweated, “I...wouldn’t say that exactly.”
he muttered. “But I think you know him.”
    “And who is it?”
Rouudy facefaulted. “I can’t believe you never
seen it yet! The sword! The family sword!!! Gourry!
Gourry! The halfwitted swordman who’s trailing
after you! You’re trying to get my sword!!!”
    “WHAAAAAAAAATTTT!!! That jellyfish
for brains is your decendant?!” Lina burned with
a huge battle aura. “And here I am, never noticing
his fully name!”
Rouudy wisely backed off a few steps. “Anyways
Gourry is my decendant. He may not be the smartest
boy in the land but he does have the guts to fight.”
“Tell that to him when we faced off against
Shabernigdo,” Lina growled.
“I see you faced off against the dark lord, eh? Well
no matter. If you were able to defeat the Dark Lord then
you should be able to destroy Kain.”
“And like how do we do that?” Lina shot back.
“By doing what we did a long time ago. Power up
the sword with a Dragon Slave.”
Lina opened her mouth to comment but found that
she couldn’t counter his reasoning. “I guess...thanks
Rouudy!”
“No problem. Now wake up, you’re heading back
home today.”
Lina awoke to the crystal blue sky of Tokyo.

The symbol flared into a portal and the group of
fighters stepped out into the destruction of the
planet. The whole area was smoking rubble with
gouts of flame and lava flaring up in the ground.
    Marle shivered slightly. “”It’s like...like...”
“The old future.” Robo finished. “The whole
place is totally slagged. Worse than Lavos.”
Crono clenched his fist and vowed that Kain
would pay. Everyone else nodded grimly.

Kain grinned as he felt the familiar powers of the
Juraian family back on the planet. Now, the final
battle will start.

Authors notes : The final battle is coming. Wait for
the ultimate powers on hand.

Chapter 13 : I call the powers of the gods above....

Magus lifted his head, feeling the mystic flow
of power. “The black wind howls...it is time for
Armegeddon.”
A resounding cry came from the edge of the
horizon as Kain roared his defiance to the people
who would oppose him. In the group of people,
Gabriel was saying goodbye since he couldn’t
participate in the final battle.
Soon, everyone was assembled and ready to
fight.

    “First volley!”
    “Lightning2!”
    “Elmikia Lance!”
    “Icicle Lance!”
    “Bram Blazer!!”
    “Fire2!”
    “Earthquake!!!”
    “Flare Arrow!!”
Kain reeled under the poundings of energy sent
his way. So far, he was attacked with a first volley
of lightning, ice, earth and fire and he was reeling
slightly. His face twisted into a slight grin. The
volley actually hurt. “That was very good,” he
rumbled, “now,” he formed a huge ball of purple
energy, “it’s my turn.”
He flung the energy at the group, blasting Gourry
and Zel who happened to be in its flight path into
the remaining wall.
Lina growled and fired off a Blast Ash, knocking
him a few steps back. “That’s for hurting Rouudy’s
decendant,” she readied another fireball, “and this,
is for Zel. FIIIIIREBALL!” The flaming energy
slammed Kain into the sky.
Kain however, didn’t feel a thing. He instead,
grinned. “Thank you for your negative energy. I
am now powered back up.”
Lina dropped her hate immdiately. “Oh...”
She had no time to utter anything else as she was
flung into the air by another purple blast. Lina came
down hard, slamming her head on a rock, knocking
herself unconcious.
Marle grimaced and clasped her hands. “Ice2.”
a chilling wind blasted into the air as two ice blocks
formed over Kain. It slammed into his form once
and shattered over a forceshield.

    “Sylpheel, are you ready?”
The young girl shifted nervously as she balanced
the curved marble blade in her hands. “I guess,” she
said quitely.
Sarryn senced some discomfort in her posture.
“You’re not thrilled about this, are you?”
Sylpheel nodded and sheathed the graceful
blade at her side. “I’m not so sure about fighting
like this. If I was not the only one who can fight
with this sword, then I would have greatfully
given the sword to someone else.”
“I know is tough. Let me tell you a story. Over
a thousand years ago, I had to make a choice :
I had to choose developing my powers, or stay
with my family. I chose my training over my family.
While I regret leaving them for a long time, I have
gained a wisdom that is unsurpassed even by
Washu. But even my choice came with a price.
I was not able to defend the Silver Millenium
and keep it from its destruction. True, the people
were reincarnated, but it was not the same.”
“Do you regret it?” Sylpheel asked. “chosing
the Art over your family?”
“...sometimes. But when I see my sister in her
new life, I can see her life before herself. It may
be challenging, but very satisfying to see all the
wonders of the 20th century.”
Sylpheel blinked and then looked at the fierce
battle raging a half kilometer away. “When will
I fight?” she asked.
“You will know. All things come to what it
started to.”

    “Ra-Tilt!!!”
The beam of astrial power struck the criminal
in the chest, forcing it back a few more steps.
Amelia, who had casted the spell was already
tired from fighting at high level spells.
Several people were already out of the battle,
Tenchi, Gourry, Zelgadis, Lucca, Ayla, Frog
Johnathan, Ki and Farl. The rest were weary,
battered but still able to fight. Crono and Marle
got up and started one of their Double Techs.
    “Ice Sword2,” they chanted.
Crono dashed towards Kain and leapt up,
sword in a downwards strike position. Marle
channeled a bolt of ice into his sword and
he brought it down on his head, several
dozen times before landing...and getting
kicked into the forest. The snapping of the
remaining trees from Crono’s flight plan was
enough to render the swordsman unconicous.
Lina and Marle were soon remaining, save
for their aces in the hole.
    “Got any ideas?” Lina asked.
    “Not particularly. How bout you?”
“Nope. Only thing I haven’t tried is a Giga
Slave.”
“Isn’t that really dangerous?” Marle asked.
“Extremely,” came the answer, “but at the way
things are going, its either us or him.”
A low chuckle came from Kain as he floated
to hover in front of him. He was bleeding purple
blood and half his mask was crushed but otherwise,
he was alright. “You all have spririt,” he said,
“but otherwise, your defences are pitiful. I haven’t
felt this good in a battle for over five centuries.”
“Oh YEAH? WELL CHEW ON THIS!!! DRAGON
SLAVE!!!”
Kain took the burst of raw energy straight in the
face. His white face mask was crushed and his body
flowed into a huge black dragon. From his prone
position, Tenchu could only comment from deep
within the dark resses of his concious mind, “This
seems all too familiar.”

    “Now?”
    “Now.”

Kain roared out in pain as a sword bit into his
shoulder, the white hot crackling energy from the
contact buzzing his mind with pain. Another
followed, this one on the opposite shoulder from
another weapon of seemingly similar descent.
Marle looked up from tending some of the
injured to grin at the two. “Hey, finally you guys
show up,” she commented.
“Yeah well, we had to go and cash in a few
checks, you know, to live confortably and all that,”
Sarryn responded jokingly.
Sylpheel nodded and turned her attention to
Kain who was still reeling from the attacks. When
he stopped howling in agony, Kain’s eyes focused
on the marble sword she carried in her hands.
“That sword,” he rasped, “that sword is the power
felt! Give it to me!!!”
“Like hell we will,” Sylpheel growled out. She
gathered magic around the sword and thrust it at
Kain’s face, yelling, “Mystic Soul Blade!!”
The curved blade fired several rapid fire energy
pulses at his face, gaining a agonized scream from
Kain as he clutched at his wounded body. Sarryn
struck second. “Howling Wind Blaze!!”
His weapon shot out a long stream of wind
propelled fire which mixed into a blazing inferno
of power. Kain recieved the attack in the chest. His
body sprayed purple blood once more. Kain
yelled out his anger and fired off a huge purple
blast. Sarryn grasped Sylpheel and yanked her out
of the way. It impacted but had enough of a
shockwave to knock the girl unconicous on a rock.
Kain laughed, “so, the pitiful girl didn’t even last
a few blasts of my true power. I was just holding
back actually.”
“You sick monster,” Sarryn whispered through
bloodied lips, “have you no feelings for anything?”
“None whatsoever,” Kain said while striking at
the Knight. Sarryn flew back to land at Marle’s feet.
He clutched his head and groaned.
“You see,” Kain continued, “I enjoy all the
destruction that I inflict on this planet and much
more. I want to turn this whole universe into a
sea of chaos. For that, I must destroy all the
foundations of the future.” He grinned and
chuckled manically.
“So that’s your game is it?” Marle stood,
unheeding Sarryn’s protests. “You play games
with every lifeform on the planet, ready to
destroy everything in your way? You’re like a
common megalomanical villian who’s goal is
world and universal domination!”
Kain growled and shook with anger.
“The way I see it, you can’t hold down the
fact that every plan of yours will turn out wrong.
Hmpth, looks like you’ve gotten everything
backwards. Bonehead!!”
Kain screamed out and lashed out, catching
Marle on the face. She spun around and fell into
a crater where the Princess rolled down into the
bottom. He laughed. “Such pitiful creatures.
To think they could destroy my power is a laugh.
I can destroy this planet in an instant.”
    “Then why don’t you?”
“Huh?” Kain looked at the thin sorceress who
stumbled to her feet.
“Why don’t you? It would save many people
a senceless death and the acompanying pain.”
“I enjoy the screams of people in agony. I
enjoy the way they grovel at my feet. I ENJOY,
THE WAY THEY BEG FOR MERCY, AND THE
WAY THEY FIND OUT, THEY HAVE
BEEN GIVEN NONE!!!!”
Lina joined Marle in the crater.
Sarryn growled and stumbled to his feet. “You
BASTARD!!!” he screamed. With a fluid motion,
he ripped off his bracers and tossed them to the
side. He purposefully strode over to Sylpheel and
said, “I need to borrow this.”
Surpisingly, the blade reformed to a large blade,
worthy to be held by him. He looked at it, and gave
the weapon a once over. The Knight spun around
to face Kain, weapon at the ready.
“So, you want to try your luck too? I could
annihalate you right here and now.”
“Then lets get the preliminaries over with,” came
the reply. He concentrated and a light pinprick
shone from his sword. The winds started to change
as dust and dead leaves swirled in the gale force
winds. His cape fluttered in the wind as he started
to chant in Latin tones. The words were, “Forgive
me father, for he does not know what he is doing.
For all my sins, I commit them to you on this
passage to your love.”

Marle crawled out of the crater, dragging the
comatose form of Lina Inverse behind her when
the gale force winds hit her face, tosling her ponytail.
She squinted in the dust and found that Sarryn was
casting a spell. Not just any normal spell, but a spell
with took quite some time and power.
She then realized with a start, that he was casting
the Ultimate Spell. His forbidden spell. The Eternal
Dragon Assention Blaze. The winds picked up to
tornado force.

Winds sweapt the lands and started spinning
around the lone figure on the battle field. He
chanted in low tones as the winds picked up
dust and leaves. He looked up and started the
spell.

“God above who reigns in the light, hallowed
by thy name. Thine power is of the mercies you
heap upon the plane of our existance...”
Streams of yellow power started to flow from
his chest and hands into the surrounding winds,
changing it to a yellow glow. “....thy power you
have bestowed upon my person is loving and
just....” More power started to flow into his
hands and the sky darkened. Lightning crackled
in the sky as a soft rain started to fall. “Thy
power of the earth and soil is all caring...”
A stream of power flowed into the whirlwind
and changed it to a green light. “In thy great
name I call all my power before me...”
Raging tongues of flame gathered into the
winds and changed it to a bright red flame.
“Power of the ages come down like water in
a rainfall....” The rain started to mix with the
reddish flame, changing it to a aqua blue light.
“And the east, north, south and west winds
call before my beconing call....” The light
abruptly changed to white.
“The human emotions which fuel Chi and
Ki combine as with the Spiritual essence of
Rekai flow....”
    The light turned even brighter...
With the power of the dragons enter the
flow of time...LET ALL POWER COME
BEFORE ME AND HEED MY CALL!
DRAGONBALLS!!!”
From a point in space, seven orange balls
blasted into the atmosphere and appeared
over the horizon. They mixed and shot up into
the sky. A long white glow came from them
and a snakelike form shot out from them. A
green scaled serpant like dragon appeared. Its
whiskers waved and growled in a booming
voice, “your desire is granted.”
Sarryn leapt into the air, the sword raised
high. The glowing winds shot into the weapon,
becoming a white glowing ball atop the blade.
He grinned and shot downwards towards
Kain.
Kain had not been idle while his opponent
had been casting his spell. He gathered all
his power into a dark energy ball, ready for
the chance to unleash it. With a roar, he
unleashed the torrent of purple energy.
    “ETERNAL DRAGON ASSENTION BLAZE!!!”

Sheng Long fired a huge beam of irridecent
light from his mouth...

Sarryn recieved the blast into his sword....

He came in contact with the attack thrown
at his body....

    Kain screamed...

The whole world was bathed in a blinding
white light.

Authors notes : Its nearly done! Thank the lord!

Epilogue

Marle grasped Sarryn’s form in her arms.
When the light had faded, she had found that
the whole world was restored. The castle was
rebuilt, the air sweet and the ground green.
And...everyone who died in the battle, were
restored back to life.
But it came at a price. Sarryn was dead and
it took his life to restore everything. She weapt
tears of sadness as the Knight’s body lay
still in her arms. As she tightened her grip on
his body, a gemstone fell from his shirt. She
noticed it and gathered it up in her hands.
Ki looked at it and grunted, “Marle, check
the gemstone.”
She released her grip on Sarryn’s lifeless
body to check the gemstone. It suddenly
flared with blue light as a small hologram
sprung from the gemstone. Marle gasped as the
figure smiled at her.
“Hi Marle,” the chibi-Sarryn said, “If you’re
hearing this, I’ve used the final attack. But don’t
fret since I have good news. Since I have passed
away, I must choose a sucessor to my powers
when I deem myself retired. Take the bracelet
in my shirt and slip it on your wrist.”
Marle reached into his shirt and withdrew the
golden bracelet. She realized with a start that
the bracelet was the bracelet in her dreams.
“The bracelet is your link to your armour and
weapons. Take the bracelet and press the ruby
in the middle.”
Marle tapped the ruby and in an instant, her
clothing rippled into a set of armour and whitish
blue clothing. “Amazing,” Lucca said from the
side.
“The armor should have fit you with some
alterations. Now, the sapphire will activate your
powers. Be careful since you can get staggered
from the power rush.”
Marle collapsed on her backside from the
blast of power rushing through her system like
a black coffee high. “Wow...”
    “Finally, take the Stone Breaker.”
Marle cautiously picked up the weapon and
stared at it. “”It’s so light,” she mused.
“The weapon will be in your possession until
I return. Take care.” The glowing gemstone
faded back to its normal bluish hues.

    “So where are we headed?”
“To earth,” Johnathan said. “we need to get
a lifestyle there for a while until he returns.”
“We have a place in Tokyo. It’s a old Dojo
in Juuban District. Since you’re a legal adult,
we just need to get you registered in the
Tokyo archives.”
    “Then what?”
    “We wait.”

    “It has begun...”
    “It was begun...”
“Life is now together...let the second test
begin....”
“Agreed. Two years will be done before we start...”
    “Agreed. Till all are one...”
    “Till all are one...”
    “Till all are one...”

Authors final notes

I’ve been writing this story for most of the school year
in 1998 and I’d just like to say that I hope you’ll
enjoy reading this story as much as I enjoyed
writing it. It’s not as long as I first thought it
could be but there was no way I could drag
this story on and on. But just enjoy the story
and tell me through my E-mail. Have a Merry
Christmas.
