Set in Chicago a few years past, Riding Bean is based around the adventures of Bean Bandit, a Class 1 confidental courier, who's motto is "Anyone, anything, anywhere, anytime."
An original single shot OAV, Riding Bean is an anime cult classic, well-known to all action anime fans. It has been released in America both in a subtitled format and english dubbed format. While the quality of the english dubbing is not up to japanese voice-actor/actresses standards, the producers made an excellent effort using american voice actors and produced a very high quality english dubbing. Riding Bean is available on videotape as well laserdisc from AnimEigo, which owns the american distribution rights to Riding Bean.
In this OAV, Bean Bandit is framed for the kidnapping of the young daughter of a rich industrialist by a crafty criminal mastermind. Pursued by the police, Bean must return the girl to her family and clear his name. With the aid of Rally Vincent, his partner, Bean Bandit rescues the industrialist from the criminal mastermind, returns the girl to her father, foils the plans of mastermind and even gets to drag race through the heart of downtown Chicago.
