INTRODUCTION

Welcome to my humble homepage. I normally dont go out of the way to make a homepage for an animation but Evangelion's powerful storyline sent me learning how to make a homepage. if you are hesitant to watch an animation where robots fight to save mankind, think again, this animation "NEON GENESIS EVANGELION" is not about fighting robots, and its not about saving the world. Its a story of 14 year old kids who is physically and mentally in turmoil and lives a life out of his/her control. Its a story about human drama and human relationships, where heroes are not heroes, and where nobody lives happily ever after. Its a story parallel to what we experience in our lives. It is rare to see an animation that is more drama than action and yet full of imagination and suprise. Its sad that it will soon end but the final movie "The End of Evangelion" will make this story a legend among legends in Japan and where our grandchildren will continue to watch, enjoy and make them think about their lives. Unlike other animations, this one will make you think and wonder after watching, so much so that its difficult for children below 14 to understand the emotions being portrayed here. I take drama and theater as a course in university and I have watched so many animations and so many films and yet this anime moved me like St. Elmo's Fire, Amadeus, Dead Poet's Society among others did, and highly recommend it to other people. If you think that anime is for childen this specific anime isnt, this one is very different, the storyline came from a writer/director who himself was suffering emotionally and you can see his work shine with all sorts of emotional and philosophical content. Some believe that after the final movie, Evangelion will fade away, but it will always remain as a must see for any person who would like to see a touching splendid story, not about robots, but about human beings trying to live and survive among other human beings. This anime is now a household word in Japan, it has made its influence on the Japanese people and a turning point to the anime world, setting new higher standards that will make other future anime strive just to meet it.

This site features the lastest movie THE END OF EVANGELION and the one before that EVANGELION:DEATH AND REBIRTH. The first movie called: EVANGELION: DEATH AND EVANGELION: REBIRTH is compose of a digest of the first 24 episodes (there are 26 30-minutes episodes in all) of the TV series under the title NEON GENESIS EVANGELION, which is the DEATH part and an additional 27 minutes of what really happened after the 17th angel was defeated, which is the REBIRTH part, this movie was shown last March 15, 1997. I skipped the 72 minute summary of the 24 episodes and concentrated on the last 27 minutes. You can see the review at the EVA REBIRTH SUMMARY LINK below. The second movie called: THE END OF EVANGELION is compose of the Rebirth part of the March movie and the ending part of the series. It is to supplement the Episode 25 and 26 of the TV series. The End of Evangelion is thus divided to Episode 25 and Episode 26 alternative. You can check the Under Construction Link at the THE END OF EVANGELION LINK. Anyway, in the End, everybody died but live happily ever after. Eternally in the form of spirits.

The remake of episode 25 and 26 was earlier declared to be released in OVA in video, but during production, GAINAX decided that it should be relaesed as a Movie on March of 1997. However GAINAX failed to deliver on time and instead released EVANGELION DEATH AND REBIRTH, with the rebirth part taking 2/3 of the Episode 25 of THE END OF EVANGELION. After 4 months, THE END OF EVANGELION was completed and ended the series that has taken Japan by storm with its theme of "Human Heart" and "Self Worth". Episode 25 of the movie was directed by the young Kazuya Tsurumaki and Episode 26 was directed by Hideki Anno. With also Director Anno as the overall director of the final edited version. THE END OF EVANGELION was made by GAINAX and its 3-D CGI by PRODUCTION I.G. The sponsors of the movie are the following: King Records, Toei Pictures, Tokyo-TV, NAS, Kadokawa Shoten, Movic, Star Child and Production I.G. The script was written by Hideki Anno. The total screen time of the movie is 87 minutes. Besides the usual 2-D anime art, this movie includes 3-D art, becoming second in an anime to use 3-D animation after Patlabor-2.

By the way. I included the actual Japanese lines besides the translated english ones to those people who can understand our language. Recently I have been receiving E-mails wondering why there are no pictures directly from the movie or the TV series, and that most of the pictures here are hand drawn and not "original" shots from the movie. The reason is because I live in Japan and in Japan, copyright infringement are strictly punishable by law. Although no law that I know of has been enacted yet prohibiting use of "original" pictures (pictures from other sources besides pictures directly made from scratch) in the internet homepage if the said homepage is personal and not commercial, to save me any legal problems in the future I decided to just draw the pictures from scratch. GAINAX has set some guidelines for those people who manages fan page for Evangelion, you can read the guidelines here. Note that GAINAX has authorized some pictures to be used in homepages but besides that, unless the pictures are made from scratch, they will be labelled unauthorize, and if you get to have quite a lot of those pictures in your homepage and your homepage is a major homepage like this one, GAINAX will be informing your webmaster about possible legal problems if you refuse to give up the unauthorize shots. I have seen some Evangelion homepages go down or erased because of this. And it is not just GAINAX who practice this form of censorship, read some of the famous copyright wars in the internet. The link has Trademark wars from Star Trek to Disney. Note also that if you live in a G7 country like the US and Japan, the following are punishable by law if they decided to sue you: Unauthorize download site for a copyright software and MIDI and Movie Files that are recorded directly from a copyright source.

NOTICE: First I would like to thank all the viewers of this homepage for their patience in checking for updates of this homepage. Second I would like to apologize that I havent updated it since summer cuz Im running a tight schedule in school, not really failing but close anyone can get to being in a tight rope. Its pathetic I know, but then Shinji is a pathetic kid, makes me wonder why I admire him so much. By the way this Homepage is dedicated to the memory of Shinji Ikari (2001-2015).
