THE STORY
Koji Kabuto has moved to the United States of America for studying and
researching, while Dr. Kenzo Kabuto is completing the Great Mazinger: a
new version of the original Mazinger Z. The new robot has also new powers
and new weapons and those already present in the first prototype are more
powerful than ever. First of all there's no more need for the Jet Scrander
since Great Mazinger has its own wings that come out of its shoulders at
the press of a button, but this is just one of many improvements. The pilot
of this giant robot is Tetsuya Tsurugi, an orphan adopted by Dr. Kabuto
and trained (since he was a teen) to become the pilot of the Great Mazinger.
The enemy involved in this new series are much stronger than those in the
previous one: this time the enemies involved are "strange beings" living
underground that wish to conquer the whole Earth. These enemies are strange
because they are part organic and part machine, some of them have heads
in the chest and one in particular (a female) has a full organic body hidden
in the breast of a female mechanical monster (!).
In this new series there is also a robot that resembles a female, Venus
Alpha, that is driven by Jun Hono. This robot however is much more powerful
than Aphrodite A and has some interesting weapons, such has the Breast
Missiles (it really shoots its breasts as missiles!!) and the Digital Missiles
(it shoots its fingers as missiles).
Note: the Breast Missiles were also mounted on Aphrodite
A only at the end of the series.
There is also the same funny robot already found in the first series:
Boss Borot. In this new series however Shiro Kabuto (the son of Dr.Kabuto
and brother of Koji) has his robot also: Junior Robot that looks like a
boy with a baseball player's suite. The only weapon of this robot is a
giant baseball bat, but later in the series this robot will also have a
couple of missiles.
