Introduction to devils

In Slayers demons are defined as a type of enemy who usually live in the astral world and does destruction to the world. There is a leader in each world (In Slayers there are different worlds just like islands on a large ocean -it isn't possible to transport between the worlds normally). In the world where Lina lives the following applies:
Lord of Nightmare: The leader of all leaders. (including all the other worlds)
Shabulanigdu: The leader of Lina's world. He has 5 servants Chaos Dragon(Garv), Greater Beast(Xelas), Dinast(Graushaila), Hell Master(Fibriso) and Deep Sea(Dulphin).
Under these 5 servants there are usually 1 or 2 Priests or Fighters to help them. Xeross for example is the Greater Beast's Priest.
Then you get the other demons, brass demon and lesser demons which are at the bottom of the pile. Any devils above brass demon can change their looks and the more human looking the stronger they are (usually). These demons are the main enemies to Lina and her group. The demons live on the fear, pain and agony of human beings. Also as a note normal swords(i.e. not magical) has no effect on demons.
Of course there are the gods which help the human: The Red Dragon and his 4 servant dragons but they are in a long period of sleep.

So here is the list of the demons in Slayers world.

Brass Demon

First appearance: Slayers 1 and Slayers anime
These demons are a power up of normal demons. Spirit magic has no effect on them and can fire about 100 fire arrows at once.

Canduel

First Appearance: Slayers 4 and Slayers Next anime
A middle classed demon, who worked for Garv(look down list). He tried to take control of Sailunne. Employed Zooma and he tried to kill Lina himself but eventually was killed by her and Gourry.

Chaos Dragon (Garv)

First Appearance: Slayers 5 and Slayers Next
One of Shabulanigdu's servant. Faught against the Water Dragon (one of the Red dragons servant) a thousand years ago and they both died. His soul reappeared in a human body. As a result he rebels against Shabulanigdu(for the way he was treated) and tries to get the help of Lina but is eventually destroied by Hell Master (Fibriso).

Chaotic Blue, Dark star and Death Fog

First Appearance: Slayers 5 and Slayers Try (Dark Star)
The leaders in another world from where Lina lives.

Deep Sea (Dulphin)

First Appearance: Slayers 5
One of the servants of Shabulanigdu who is not involved in the story at all (for the moment anyway).

Dinast (Graushaila)

First Appearance: Slayers 5
One of the servants of Shabulanigdu. He is using his servant (Dinast fighter) to try and assasinate Lina.

Doolgofa

First Appearance: Slayers 9
A devil who is shaped like a sword and is used by Shaila(look down list) as a weapon.

Duguld

First Appearance: Slayers 6
A middle classed demon who was covered in black. He used parts of body to change itself bullets and swords. Killed by Zelgadis.

Gio=Gaia

First apperaence: Slayers 2
A low classed demon who was trying to take over Atlas City but was absorbed into the body of the former Magic guild leader Halsifom.

Greater Beast (Xelas)

First appearance: Slayers 5 and Slayers Next
One of Shabulanigdu's servant. Created Xeross and ordered him to sort out Garv (who rebelled against Shabulanigdu). Apparently the Greater Beast is a woman (from the last episode of Slayers Try).

Gudooza

First Appearance: Slayers 6
A middle class demon who worked for Lartalk(look down list) and fought with Ameria but eventually got eaten by Duguld.

Hell Master (Fibriso)

First appearance: Slayers 5 and Slayers Next
The leader of the 5 servants of Shabulanigdu. He tried to use Lina's magic gigaslave to summon the Lord of Nightmare(look down list). He killed Garv and destroied his plans completely. He also succeded in the summoning of the Lord of Nightmare but didn't realise it was summoned into Lina's body. When he attacked Lina he was killed by the Lord (of Mightmare).

Larshalt and Lartalk

First appearance: Slayers 6
Garv's fighter and priest respectively. Lartalk tried to kill Lina to distract Fibriso's plan but got damaged by Xeross and was eventually killed by Lina and Zelgadis. Larshalt became the servant of Hell Master after Garv was killed but himself was killed by Lina.

Lesser Demon

First appearance: Slayers 1 and Slayers Anime
Lesser demons are created by putting souls of demons into animals. Therfore it can even take a shape of a fish. Though they are at the bottom of the pile it will be difficult to kill it for a normal fighter or magician.

Lord of Nightmare

First Appearance: Slayers 1 and Slayers Next
The leader of leaders. Even Shabulanigdu is one of his servants. He or she is the strongest of the demons and does not usually get involved with what is going on.

Mazenda

first Appearance: Slayers 5
One of Garv's servant. Uses a magic which prevents Lina from using any magic but is destroied by Xeross.

Saiglam

First Appearance: Slayers 2
A low class demon who worked for Halsifolm (a magic guild leader at Atlas city).

Shaila

First Appearance: Slayers 8
A dinast fighter created by Dinast to kill Lina. She uses a sword called Doolgofa which can change humans into Lesser Demons.

Shabulanigdu

First Appearance: Slayers 1 and Slayers Anime
The demon who rules the dark side of this world. Summoned to this world by Lezo the red priest but is just about killed by Lina. At the moment he is back to sleep as well.

Vrumigun

First Appearence:Slayers(episode 13): A half wolf demon who chased around Lina by putting up posters and such, wasnt too storng and was beaten up eventually.

Visea

First appearance: Slayers 3
A middle class demon who only had a half a face. Was killed by the holy blade which Lanz used.

Zooma-Saiglam

First appearance: Slayers 6
A mix between an assassin Zooma and a devil Saiglam. A very powerful half demon but was killed by Lina's Laguna blade.
