¥July 22: I Ache All Over¥
I've been running a fever for the past two days.
My nose isn't running, and I don't have a cough either, so I may not have a cold. But if I don't have a cold, what do I have?
My temperature's been floating between 37 degrees C (98.6 F) and 38.5 degrees C (101.3 F). I've got two things to finish this week, only ten pages between them, but I expect I'll miss one or the other, or at best turn in fewer pages than planned. And I was fine up to Tuesday, when I turned in my pages for Men's Action.
I guess this is my punishment for going all day and all night Tuesday with my assistant Tomo, gathering fairly naughty story ideas together.

¥July 19: Work¥
I'm slaving away here. Even passed up the antique show I wanted to go to. My dojinshi isn't getting done either.
I really want to hit this sale that Laforet is having on kids' clothes on the 22nd.
That and an antique toy show on the 25th.
But in order to either of those things, I have got to get through the coming week.

¥July 16: Baby Store¥
I went to the Baby Store to buy stuff for my daughter: swimsuit, yukata, diapers, training pants, potty, handi-wipes, cap, etc. I got her a two-piece swimsuit. I would've made it a bikini, but they didn't have any that I liked.
I managed to find a cute yukata, with goldfish printed on it. The hot pink obi was also nice. This is one of those moments when I'm glad I gave birth to a girl.

¥July 15: The Radio¥
I did a guest spot on ASCII Magazine's radio show, even though the regular emcee wasn't there. Heh.
As usual (every time, in fact), I talked about women with big breasts. All I did was say that I like them, and the female host who stood in for the regular one freaked.
¥July 13: Recovery¥
I have my computer back. Which is to say, I went and bought a new one.
I've discarded my old self! Or some such, I guess, whatever that's supposed to mean.
I haven't used it very much as yet, but I like it because it's fast.
I bought it because I wanted it, so it feels more like it's mine than the previous one did. That one was left to me by Hubby, who felt that I should have my own exclusive machine (even though I paid for it myself), even though I didn't particularly want it. I sure got enough use out of it, though. I really became fond of it once I started accessing the Internet.
Actually, I like the Internet more than I do computers.

I lost all my old files. Everything prior to July 5 is gone. So if you've written to me, please do so again. Thank you.
¥July 3: My Computer Broke Down¥
Maybe I'll just buy a new one. Hubby's too busy to take it to be fixed.
I could send it to the repair shop myself, but I don't have the original packaging, so I don't know if they'd accept it.
For the time being, work-related (?) communications will have to be phone or fax, because I don't have email access.
I'd just about finished with Koume's dress-up graphics. Losing those files is going to hurt. Not to mention all the other files I had so carefully organized.
Make sure you take your backups seriously, so this doesn't happen to you!
¥July 1: Layout Work Isn't Happening. I Wish I Could Die¥
This Nostradamus thing seems to have turned into a fad around these parts, though I was hoping that July of 1999 would be more lively.
I mentioned that it was like the Japanese urban legend of the woman with her mouth split from ear to ear to my assistants, and the next thing I know, we're all talking up that subject--things like, what kind of operation could she have had, and how could it have failed in such a way as to cause that sort of result? Or, just because the elder sister ended up like that doesn't mean the younger sister had to do it as well. And why would she run away if you said "pomade" to her? And on and on.
And after that, we chatted about the urban legend of the dog with the human face, for some reason. Supposedly it goes fishing through trash cans. And then there's this whole thing of other animals with human faces, too... (sheepish grin)
