Just What is the Dolby Digital Sound System?!? After over a decade, "The Royal Space Force--Wings of Honneamise" returns to the big screen, with "Dolby Digital" breathing new life into it.Actually, when the film was originally made 10 years ago, it used the "Dolby Stereo" system. This is the most popular theatrical sound system, with three front speakers (Left-Center-Right), and one wall speaker (monaural). "Dolby Digital", however, uses three front channels, two speaker channels (Left-Right), and an additional super-woofer channel, for a total of six channels, in what is called "5.1ch". Digitizing the audio results in technology that makes possible a tremendous increase in the amount of information that can be contained. Using these six channels, one can achieve overwhelming fullness of sound--amazingly three-dimensional effects. To bring forth the fullest performance of this new technology, all of the sound effects in the film have been re-recorded for this new "Sound Reproduction Edition". First, the staff went on a huge location hunt, in order to get sound effects that sounded as much like they came from the real world as possible. Then Yamaga and the audio staff, including people who'd worked on the original release of the film, worked day and night in the studio for days on end, sparing no amount of attention to detail in producing the digital mastering. This will be the chance for to see and hear this new version of "The Royal Space Force" on the big screen, whether you've seen it in the theater before or not. The fighter planes of the kingdom zooming across the screen, the rocket's roar as it rises into the sky, and Shirotzugh and Leiqunni's breathing, are all given new life in "The Royal Space Force--Wings of Honneamise: The Sound Reproduction Edition". Check out the quality for yourself, at the theater. [HOME] [BACK] |
