Takeda Yasuhiro
D.O.B.: Sept. 12, 1957.
Birthplace: Tadaoka-cho, Senshuu, Osaka, Japan.

While majoring in atomic reactor engineering at Kinki University, Takeda joined the university SF Research Group. This was the beginning of his career in SF fandom. It was probably because of said career that he ended up spending six years at the university (freshman year once, sophomore year five times).
As a result of the lingering aftereffects of attending his first SF convention, Takeda would go on to manage similar events himself.
With an SF show as a starter, he went on to sponsor Daicon 3 & 4, and Migcon.
Along the way, he got off to a rocky start with the Japan SF Fan Club Alliance, but eventually became its chief executive.

Additionally, he began working in amateur film production, initially calling it training for event staff members. "Kaiketsu Nootenki" (a parody of the 1979 cult classic Toei tokusatsu series "Kaiketsu Zubatto", starring the legendary Miyauchi Hiroshi), in which Takeda starred, was originally conceived of simply as a joke with himself as the punchline. But surprisingly enough, three of them were eventually made. Along with "Nootenki", he made appearances in numerous other features as well, eventually becoming part of the amateur filmmaking group known as Daicon Film. During this period, on a suggestion from Okada Toshio, he founded "General Products", Japan's first-ever garage kit specialty shop, only to be told initially by each and every modelmaking shop he went to that what he was doing was "a business tainted with money." To this day, he holds a grudge over this treatment he received.

Together with Yamaga Hiroyuki and other Daicon Film associates, Takeda established GAINAX so that they could produce "The Royal Space Force (Wings of Honneamise)". His original involvement was as sponsor and director.

Having served its purpose, "General Products" was closed down. It no longer exists.
In his present capacity as GAINAX general manager, Takeda Yasuhiro works day and night in the service of justice.
