Well, if anything, I would hope it would be an inspiration for you to perhaps
LEARN Japanese so you could enjoy the story better. I doubt it could be
successfully translated, and it would lose a lot of its flavor, I think, if it
were adapted for American audiences.

It certainly helped me immensely not only with some aspects of spoken Japanese
(including Kansai-ben). Sakura Taisen, and Japanese games in particular, have
certainly motivated me to not only learn kana, but have improved my reading
ability of Japanese and have taught me more kanji than I might have otherwise
learned.

I've had a great time since I got a Japanese Saturn, and I flat-out stopped
buying domestic software because I felt the quality of the games for the USA
was totally diluted for this market (the Magic Knights Rayearth adaptation is
probably the sole exception, as it comes the closest to conveying the entire
anime game feel- from software to color booklet- in English).
