Is ST2 compatible with the analog pad?

Subject:      Is ST2 compatible with the analog pad?

Just curious, is ST2 compatible with the Sega analog pad? I gather that
some mouse compatible games (ie, Policenauts) also support the 3D analog
pad for more precise control. I've got a chance to pick one up relatively
cheap.
