I've done it because of time constraints. And I think at most, you can
get half of the endings (4 girls) if you save midpoint and do some
manipulations.

Ummm.. maybe. There's stuff in ST1 I know I've still missed, but I agree
wholeheartedly, you have to play it from beginning to end or you'll miss
out. But when I do that, I really take my time to read and listen to all
the dialogue. Even after I've done all that, I still miss things like
idioms, culture, etc. I'm just constrained by time, and I like to see
the endings. ^^;;

Well, in the end, I don't think it really matters as the game will tally
up your "confidence" points. Results will be the same, but as you've
said, you will miss out on other story/plot lines. I esp. liked Kohran's
story in ST1.
