Basically, Matt, the one you mention is just a compilation of all the
songs on Sakura Taisen including the op/ed, as well as each individual
ending song(like Sakura for Sakura's ending, Etude for Iris' ending, etc)
and some extras inspired by the plays(like Ai Yueni)

Hey tom, you have the two vocal CDs?
Anyway, IMNSHO, the Sakura Taisen 2 vocal CD is many times better than the
ST one. I borrowed the ST one from Godai(who's noticeably absent from
this ML) a few times, but I'm still not sure if I want to buy it. But the
first time I heard the ST2 soundtrack, I went and bought it in an instant.
But, you may want to wait until you get Sakura Taisen 2(you are getting
it, aren't you Matt?) before you invest on it lest it spoil any good
parts. But I think the song quality, the quality of the music
composition, and the fact that it has more tracks make the ST 2 vocal the
better of the 2. OTOH, I miss the duets they had on the ST vocal, like Ai
Yueni, a song which I think is fantastic but it seems like others don't
care for it.
I say, you might wanna get both CDs, but if you don't like the ST CD as
much as you thought you would, don't let it negatively bias your decision
on the ST2 Vocal one.
