Hey, Moonprince told me to get it too!!! j/k =) I'll speak for
Gerald/Godai too cuz I convinced him to get ST...

Anyway, the way I discovered Sakura Taisen I think was just research on
the Saturn. I wanted a Saturn originally for Rayearth as I had recently
got into that anime. But as I liked toward Japan for their anime games, I
came across Sakura Taisen... Wait. Lemme back up. I initially heard of
ST through... *gasp* a SonMay catalog. I looked at the cover for the game
OST and I liked the art/char designs. "What kind of anime is this?" I
thought. Back to the saturn story. Anyway, I started researching import
Saturn stuff and came across ST. It was then that I realized that ST was
a game and not an anime. I read interesting reviews on the game(mainly
the one on Dave's Sega Saturn page, sega-saturn.com, dunno if exists
anymore), and knew I had to try it.

So after buying Slayers Royal and borrowing my cousin's Saturn for a
couple months, I eventually got my own Saturn in Jan '98. I wanted ST but
my brother(who works at an import game store) said ST was hard to get.
BUT, I later learned about the Feb rerelease and was overjoyed. So the
day it came out was the day I became a Sakura Taisen fan. I admit for the
first couple episodes, I "floated" through the game. The adventure mode
was too "foreign" to me. But once I got used to it more and more, it
became much more than a game- more like an experience.

Of course once I told Gerald about it, he HAD to copy me and got one too.
When ST2 came out, I picked it up that day(incidentally I beat ST for the
first time as my brother was coming home with ST2 in his hands...). And
once I told Gerald I had ST2, he then orders ST2... heh heh. What a
biter...
