Heyo.
Well, last night's #sakurataisen meeting was a big success. A lot of people
showed up and there was fun conversation, for the most part. However, a few
disturbing things happened, so I'm going to lay down a few 'ground rules'
right now:
1. _NO_ sex talk on the channel: This is a _clean_ channel, which I
created for the discussion of the Sakura Taisen games and Saturn games in
general. It's okay if the talk gets a little (stress on that little) ecchi
now and then, but sex talk is out. This is #sakurataisen, not #cybersex.
Sorry, but after last night's fiasco, and my small (albeit unwilling) part
in it, I want to stress this. I also want to apologize to the four who had
to put up with this stuff. Moonprince, Joshua Kaufman (though he,
thankfully, did not see the worst of it), Skuld-chan, and Kawaii^SD^Sakura,
on behalf of the channel, I personally apologize.
2. No using foul language in the channel: Okay, so this might seem a
little overboard, but there are actually some younger people who come to the
channel every once in a while, and I'd rather they not see obscenities.
This hasn't been a problem so far, and I don't foresee it becoming a
problem, but then again, I never foresaw the sex talk in #sakurataisen
yesterday, so...better safe than sorry. I don't have a problem with damn,
hell, crap, etc. I'm talking about the real foul language, such as the
f-word. If you're angry and need to vent by swearing, #sakurataisen isn't
the place to do it in.
3. No flooding or spamming: Pretty self-explanatory. It's annoying and
I've seen it happen in other channels.
4. Don't harass other people: This includes calling them names, taunting
them, etc. We're all here to have fun, not to fight, 'kay?:)
5. No spoilers: Ask people if they've played the game through before
saying anything which might inadvertently spoil a big part of the story for
them.
That's it. I don't think these rules are really tough to follow, and I
think they don't restrict much, but will be very beneficial to the people
who come onto this channel. I apologize again for not enforcing these rules
last night (and even, unfortunately, encouraging the offenders).
Unfortunately, I've never run a channel before, and I'm still
learning...hopefully these rules will make the experience of chatting on
#sakurataisen more enjoyable for all of us. If you have a question
regarding the rules or just a question regarding how to come online to
#sakurataisen, please e-mail me directly at Devilot@worldnet.att.net so that
it doesn't end up as spamming the channel. Thanks!
