They most likely have the option though which is how a good portion of contracts go. Which means they have first shot at it. > Considering that Sakura Taisen is a lackluster title in the states, > there's no way in heck ADV would shell out the rights to "all the Sakura > Taisen-related anime here and yet to come". Look at Software Sculptors. > They didn't buy all of the Slayers TV series. They bought the rights to > the first 13 episodes of Slayers TV. On the Animeondvd.com site from a rep from CPM. CPM has the rights to Slayers (All of it) on DVD Plus they aquired Try. Slayers is a BIG exception to the rule as it went from one owner to another over the course of the first series. > ADV has tons of money, but they're not going to flaunt it on an obscure > series. It is highly unlikely they sought out the > company who made it(bandai?) and asked to purchase the rights. Unlikely they probably asked for ST and got Panzer Dragoon and Sonic thrown in. That seems more likely. Weather YOU like it or not is Completely irrelevant as I could find 50 people that are walk in customers that will refute your point. I don't think you have such a big vendeta against it if Say Animeigo picked it up. So stop ADV bashing because there people on this list that actually like the anime (regardless of format). Your ranting is only going to infuriate most of the people on this list so Please Knock it off. > > >according to animeondvd.com, october 26th is the date. > > > > That's was Tokyopop lists too....but they are just a store of course. > > Yes, but animeondvd is not a store and since it is THE site for these > things, they get a lot of inside info from the companies themselves. > > > >though if you hate ADV as much as I do, I hope you will boycott it > > >regardless of the fact that it's Sakura Taisen... > > > > For the record....the DVD will my first US anime purchase... > > Your point being? > > For the record, ADV is the most hated anime company among anime fans and > with reason. That is your opinion!! > I'm not about to support a company who's practices I disagree with, "just > because it's Sakura Taisen" or moreover "just because it's Sakura Taisen > IN ENGLISH." That's you. And you are in the Extreme Minority in that situation as stated previously. Rik
