First, ST3 : Is Paris Burning? (Pari wa Moeteiruka) looks interesting, but I'm hoping that the real Hanagumi only makes cameos. After all, I liked ST for keeping the cast SMALL, but if they have a thirteen girl cast, it's just as bad as all the other dating sim games. It's nice to see the story take place in another country, but the girls all look like they'll be foreign versions of Sakura and the others. Also, the "Taisho" era will end, so what effect will the death of the emperor and introduction of the "Showa" era do to the story? I am disappointed in the direction that Sakura Taisen is taking in general though. I think Sega and RED are trying to milk Sakura Taisen for all it's worth. I know it's still early, but they don't give splendid reasons to why normal people and fading fans would want to buy two more versions of ST and ST2. Also, it seems like a desperate move to increase Dreamcast sales since the system is doing horribly in Japan. From Oricon reports, DC is having a hard time getting even one title on the top ten list every week. As for the animation side, I'm only interested in the movie. The first OVA series had awful animation, and from magazine stills and illustrations, the second series won't be much different. And if OVA animation is bad, then a TV series likely won't be any better. Also, Sakura Taisen seems to be destined for a late night TV slot since many other love-sim animes have been shown at 12:35 a.m. :< I'm actually more interested in seeing CLAMP's "X" TV series (being produced by MAD HOUSE). But, we'll see in a few days. The movie seems more promising since the only badly animated movie I can think of is the "Nadia" one. I hope that they take after "Utena" or "Macross" in retelling the story in a new way or maybe conclude the entire story. I wonder if they'' release it in conjunction with the "Ah! Megami-sama" movie just because it's Fujishima related? Most likely not though.
