Goldorak Links

It seems like every time I check the search engines, there are more and more Goldorak pages out there! Quite a change from when I first started builing web pages and there was only 2 or 3 in the whole world! Anyway, here are a few of the ones I've found. Enjoy!

English

French

Italian

Some people behind the show:

In the original Japanese version, Actarus (Duke Fleed) was voiced by Tomiyama Kei.
Alcor, or Kooji Kabuto, was voiced by Ishimaru Hiroya.
Venusia was called Makiba Hikaru. Her voice was done by Kawashima Chiyoko. (She also did voices for Sailor Moon!)
Goldorak was created by Go Nagai.

If you find any that I've missed please e-mail me and I will add them as soon as I can!

Albator

Once Goldorak established a fandom for translated Anime in Quebec, it was followed by "Albator", known in English as "Captain Harlock". An excellent Albator page can be found
here.

Capitaine Flame

Far less popular (at least according to me & my friends of the time) was Capitaine Flame, a French translation of "Captain Future". The only Capitaine Flame page that I could find is here.

Mazinger / Tranzor Z

In the original Japanese version of Goldorak, "Grandizer", Alcor's name is Koji Kabuto, who is supposed to be the same character as from the animer series Mazinger. Mazinger was aired in the US under the name of Tranzor Z. A link to info on Mazinger can be found here.

Other Force Five Series [UPDATED! Aug 19/98]

As noted above, Goldorak was shown in the US and Canada in English as one part of the Force Five series. The other parts of Force Five were: Danguard Ace (Wakusei Robot Danguard Ace), Starvengers, Spaceketeers (Starzinger) and Gaiking.

Battle Of The Planets / Gatchaman

About the only Anime series that I ever got into in English was
Battle of the Planets. This was the first English translation of the very popular Anime Gatchaman.

Vision Of Escaflowne

Right now my favourite Anime series to watch is Vision of Escaflowne. Where else can you find such an exciting combination of fantasy, science fiction, soap opera, and great big robotic battle-suits?

OAV Movies

The first Anime OAV movie that I became a fan of was Riding Bean. An action-filled movie with some very interesting characters.

But my all-time award winner for best OAV, and in fact perhaps for best Anime artisically, is "I Can Hear The Sea", known in Japanese as "Umi ga Kikoeru".

Most of the newer Anime series were introduced to me by the URAnime club. Many thanks to them for helping me to get to know some great animes! If you are loking for any other Anime, a couple of great places to start are the Anime Web Turnpike and Manga Seeker.
