These are some of the redesigned Utena cast for the movie. Of course, it's not really fair just to speculate from images like this, but a few interesting points come to mind. Of course, first is the obvious paradox of TWO Utena characters- male and female.

Notice that the redesigns are all themed with duality, particularly in the main character; black and white combined- there is no innocence in this world, with all the characters wearing mixed colors. Touga's costume looks more like Utena's old costume. Characters like Juri and Anshi who kept their hair tight as symbols of their repressed natures now wear their hair loose and straight. Akio now wears the colors of the Rose Bride; Anshi wears white. Something has happened here... a revelation? A revolution?
