VGA Manga and Anime Resources

The Video Girl Ai soundtracks are released in two audio CDs, namely :
Video Girl Ai Original Soundtrack (Vol. 1) and
Video Girl Ai 2nd Image Soundtrack ~ Memories (Vol. 2)

They are easily available in Singapore and are well worth their price. (I bought my copy at Games Tokyo for S$15.20 each) Most of the tracks in the CDs makes good listening, especially if you like Japanese Pop and synthesized pieces. It contains some gems such as Ano Ni ni... (Disc 1, Track 2) and Frozen Flower (Disc 2, Track 12).
Below is the complete listing of tracks from Video Girl Ai Soundtracks 1 and 2. All information are extracted from the booklets that comes with the CDs.
Additionally, selected tracks can be downloaded in either RealAudio or MP3 format :

RealAudio Format
RealAudio files are comparatively small, (about 600 kb for a 5 min track). The sound quality is rather clear for such a small format, with a slight level of distortion. Try this format if you are short of hard disk space or if you just want to preview a track to determine whether it is worthwhile to download the MP3 format. All RA files are encoded to 16 kbps, Mono.

MP3 Format (Temporary Unavailable)
MP3 is short for MPEG Layer-3. Having a higher compression rate then MP2's, this formats yields a sound quality that is similar to CD but at a much smaller file size. Still, at about 4+ mb for a 5 min track, it is substantial larger then RealAudio. Download this format for tracks that you particularly like and wish to retain for listening. All files are encoded to 112 kbps and 44.1kHz, Stereo.

NOTE :

The Anime Lair has moved. Hence all links to the MP3's from soundtrack 1 have been removed. Try the Serpent's Anime Page for these files.
All MP3 tracks for Soundtrack 2 are currently down! (As of 220398). I would try to restore them as soon as possible. Sorry!

Video Girl Ai Original Soundtrack
The first soundtrack has 10 tracks with a total running time of 39:51. Tracks 1-5 & 10 are vocals. Tracks 6-9 are instrumental pieces that mainly serve as mood music. Very good pieces include tracks 1, 2 and 5. Tracks 1 & 2 are the Anime opening and ending themes respectively. Track 3 appeared in OVA 4 when Youta and Moemi went shopping. Track 5 is the accompaniment to the scene in OVA 3 when Youta was rushing down the stairs of the departmental store in search of Ai. Track 10 is the music in the final scene of OVA 6.

Video Girl Ai 2nd Image Soundtrack ~ Memories
The second CD has 17 tracks with a total running time of 46:15. All even tracks are musical pieces and all odd tracks are conversations between characters in the Anime. Notably tracks are :
Track 12 - Accompaniment to the scene in OVA 6 when Youta ascends the glass staircase. (Very nice)
Track 16 - When Youta was carrying the comatose Ai after she fainted midway through their date. (OVA 3)
