The A-Z listing (text-only version) lists anime & manga series by title with links to various resources & databases.
In effect, the Index forms the 'top' of a directory tree covering all the other data lists. An 'open' structure with 'linking scripts' has been adopted. This may appear a little more laborious to use than a click to access the data. However in practice it should be much more robust, as well as being easy to update and maintain. To use, find your title - some are repeated in different variations - and click one of the icons that follow it on the line.
NOTES: FTP sites are the most likely place to find substantial files such as scripts or GIF & JPEG image files. WWW pages usually carry short texts & images. Note however that script translation files generally get deleted as soon as a US licensed edition appears.
SEARCH ENGINES: there are many. If you are looking for info on a particular title or artist, keyword based engines like Alta Vista or Lycos will be more suitable than subject based directories like Yahoo. Search engines can be very effective but they do depend on the sites (generally WWW) having been indexed. And half the anime/manga sites picked up by search engines may be in Japanese.
BOOKS: The vast majority of Japanese OVA titles (not TV episodes) have some details given in Helen McCarthy's ANIME MOVIE GUIDE (Titan Books). A coverage of commercial US releases is given in Trish Ledoux's THE COMPLETE ANIME GUIDE.
