Tarot (タロット)

A set of cards mainly used for fortune-telling. The typical set of 78 cards is composed of 22 major arcana cards and 56 minor arcana cards (divided into four suits).

Tarot, Hitomi's (ひとみのタロット)

Tarot card set Hitomi's grandmother bought at Yokohama for Hitomi when she was young. Not the typical set, it has several unique features:

• card designs by mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane
• Major Arcana designs based on traditional Tarot sets
• Minor Arcana cards based on Merlin Tarot set
• The Three of Serpents is La Tensione (Tension), instead of Intention as it is on the Merlin Tarot
• Italian writing with some unique spellings (the original Merlin Tarot set is in English, although Tarot is said to have been developed in Italy.)
• gold pentacle on the reverse
• blank card inexplicably inserted

Note: In Yuzuru Yashiro's shoujo manga version, Hitomi's set is a momento from her grandmother, although it was apparently not bought at Yokohama. It has its own unique features:

In Katsu-Aki's shounen manga version, Hitomi does not use a tarot card set.

Tarot, Merlin (マーリン・タロット)

A type of tarot cards set inspired by Merlin, a magician in the medieval English legends. Compared to other sets, the order of Major Arcana is different, and the suits of the minor arcana are birds, serpents/dragons, fish, and beasts instead of swords, wands, cups, and pentacles.
