- My review- This review is on both dubbed and subtitle version. Revolutionary Girl Utena has cute animation and
excellent action scenes. Utena started off as a shoujo manga series by Saito Chiho, a Shogakukan publication.
Utena attended a school called Ohtori Academy with Shinohara Wakaba. Who thinks of her as her boyfriend.
Utena and Wakaba is 8th graders attending this school. Everything was well and good but when she was looking
out the school window in the halls she see's that Saonji slapped Anthy when they were in the Rose Garden and
when Saonji wanted to slap her again Touga appeared and grabbed his hand and told him that's not how you treat
the Rose Bride. Utena went to the dojo where Saonji is training and she challenge him to a match. So Saonji thinks
that Utena is the Duelist that Touga said would appear and challenge him for the Rose Bride. So Saonji told Utena
to meet him in the Dueling Arena in the back of the school. She saids the forest. And when she went in to the forest
she see's a floating castle up there where it can't be seen from outside. And this is when it all happened. Anyone
who is in the student council is a duelist and have recieve the end of the world letter, they all wear rose crested rings
so they thought Utena was one of them. All the duelist in the student council wonders why Utena isn't in the
student council. They think that she is the one who will bring revolution. Anyone who is the Champion gets to have
the power of Dios. All of the characters in Revolutionary Girl Utena is in different grade levels. Miki is a freshman
meaning heis an 7th grader, same as Kiryuu Nanami who is Touga's little sister, Kaoru Kozue, Oose Yuuko, Wakiya
Aiko, Sonoda Keiko. Saonji and Touga is 11th graders and Juri is a 10th grader. Ohtori Akio is Anthy's brother and
the deputy trustee chairman of Ohtori Academy. Wonder why they don't have they same last name. Dios is a
mysterious prince whose shadow often comes down from the midair castle to help Utena win the duels and he is the
true prince Utena met back in the past. Oh and one more thing Chu Chu is Anthy's only friend when she haven't met
Utena yet, I think he's a small monkey.
*Spoiler*The story of Utena takes place at Ohtori Academy which is ruled by the Student Council Elite.
The Elite are made of four people, three men and one woman. The President of the Student Council is Kiryuu Touga.
When Touga encounters Utena, he falls in love with her because of her strong personality. The Vice President of
the Student Council is Saionji Kyouichi. Saionji uses Himemiya Anthy as his slave and treats her badly by slapping
her when she did something wrong or say something wrong. His abusive way toward Anthy makes Utena think
what kind of relationship she has with him. The Secretary of the Student Council is Kaoru Miki, Miki is a popular
freshman that every girl on Ohtori Academy loves. He is a champion fencer and an excellent pianist and a really
smart person in the college level. Miki has a twin sister, Kaoru Kozue; she is the opposite of Miki. And finally, the
Captain of the Fencing Team, Arisugawa Juri, is the only female in the Student Council and gives her idea to any
school issues that may be discussed, she is a tenth grader. The two main characters areTenjou Utena and
Himemiya Anthy. Utena is a strong, agressive 14 year old girl who wants to be a prince and when
she was little a prince gave her a rose crest ring to remember him by.
