"C'mon, Zeke. We're leaving."

Zeke looked up from his newspaper. "Hunh? Where?"

"Konan country. I need to get back to training, and I need to find Susanne. NOW."

Zeke noted the urgency in her voice and the missing playful look in her eyes. "Alright, let's go. You might want to pack your Hammerspace first, though. Konan gets kinda cold, and the food..." His voice trailed off as Meredith shot him a you-think-I-don't-know-that look. "Ok, so you're a step ahead of me. Let's go."

The two set off down the road and it changed soon enough to the barren landscape of Konan. They had only been walking a few minutes when a familiar figure appeared far ahead of them.

"SUSANNE!!!!!" Meredith took off before Zeke could even identify the figure as female. Susanne also broke into a run when she saw who was coming and when she recognized that blood curdling scream. She heard it from as far away as she was, too. There was no mistaking that voice!

After the excitement of the meeting had died down, the two girls became quite somber.

"You know Celly beat Kristsi up just to humiliate her, right? And where did Roger go? Isn't he usually your shadow?" Meredith shot a glance at Zeke, who was in animal form. He found it easier to walk as a horse than a person.

"The council yanked him. Sent me some geek to replace him. I'm not happy to say the least." The two girls shared all the intelligence they had gathered from both ends as they walked along. Zeke had never heard so many words in so short a time, and half of what they communicated was without words, even.

"So where is he?"
