And her mind kept wandering... had Mercy really betrayed them? Celly seemed to have that split personality thing going, big time... was she the only one?
Block. Swing.
What if some of the other Otaku were also schizos?
Duck. Jump back. Swing.
Was she, herself, capable of such betrayal?
Up against a wall. She pushed her thoughts to the back of her mind and fought like mad to get out into the open.
They were evenly matched. Susanne pushed Celly back, Celly pushed Susanne back. Back and forth. Back and forth.
Susanne could hear the sounds of another fight, but paid it little attention.
Her glaive caught Celly with a glancing blow on the arm as she pushed the fuku-clad girl back toward the ice cream shop. A movement at the top of the building in front of her caught a piece of her attention for a split second...
And she found herself backing up, fending off a fresh onslaught from Celly. She sidestepped a thrust and tried unsuccesfully to take the offensive once again. She ducked to the side, then immediately leapt as high as she could as Celly swung low.
She was off-balance as she jumped, and Celly's sword caught her on the leg. She fell back, clutching at the wound just above her knee and threw Celly back a few yards with a quick ki-blast before grabbing once more for her glaive and rising.
The girls paused for a moment, both short of breath and both by this time covered in various scratches and bruises.
Susanne's breathing slowed and she lowered the glaive a fraction. "Had enough?" she tried to ask confidently.
