"Everyone
wants to be like Rei." Imagine being a
teenager with a simple life, popular, a Shinto priestess, her only worries being school
and her grandfather. Then suppose you find out that you are a warrior for
justice. You are a Sailor Senshi. You will live for thousands of years.
You cannot fall in love with regular humans, for they will die long before you. You
have lived a thousand years before. You are Sailor Mars. You are the spirit of
the flame. |

She is undoubtedly worshipped at her school. Everyone wants to be like Rei.
But she is an outcast. Can she really be part of the group? People cannot
hold decent conversations if they are too busy admiring and falling over every word
mentioned by her. She walks the halls alone, a hush of respect falling over the
crowds. Is this the way one would rather live? |

Even men have taken a respect to her. In fact, it is hard to find a male who has
never admired Rei. So how will she find a man who she will love for all her
life? No one knows, though "all her life" is a long time and she
will probably watch him waste away and die. Not a nice truth, but the truth just
the same. So Rei lives with this secret, and an ecchi grandfather (^^) whom she is constantly looking out for. He is all the family left to her. Her mother died when she was very young and her father is a wealthy politician who never returns home except on her birthday...sometimes. But Rei is a strong character who hides all this under a tough outer shell. A shell which only a privileged few are allowed to break. |
