Pulling down his pants to change. Kurama just came back from school. He had did something for Hiei in Home-science class today. A scarf. Well, although he already has one, he sure would accept something that Kurama made by himself. (exactly by himself, all the girls were queuing up to help him but he just wouldn’t let!) Hiei was delighted. He was so delighted that he didn’t realised that he was actually singing. Kurama heard it again. He ignored his pants and walked nearer, totally forgotten about his plans to change clothes. Attired only in school uniform pants which it’s zip was opened, he stared oddly at Hiei. Hiei stopped what he was doing *he was paying attention to the scarf and ‘singing’* and looked back at the emerald eyes which were staring deep into his ruby ones. "What?" Kurama blinked a few times. "Hiei…," a soft sound came out of the youko’s mouth. Hiei did just what Kurama did, he blinked back at him. "What?" suddenly at more deeper voice asked. "What did you just do?" asked the softer voice. "I was looking at the scarf you gave me," he answered dryly, rolling his eyes. "No, I mean while doing that," cleared Kurama. Hiei was still dumbfounded, he shook his head. "Nothing," he whispered to Kurama softly, right in his ears. Gives Kurama the pleasure but he needed to know that did Hiei sing or didn’t he? "Were you singing?" he asked, pulling Hiei’s face to look in his eyes. Hiei frowned. "No, I never sing," he finally declared. Kurama looked at Hiei annoyingly. "Uso ikenai yo," Kurama cupped his hands on the little koorime’s face. Hiei closed his eyes. "So what if I did sing? Ok, I’m sorry I won’t do it again," said Hiei getting up heading for the window. "Matte kudasai!" exclaimed Kurama. "Hiei! Don’t go! Please stay," Kurama pleaded. Hiei stopped at the window sill. He always hated this. He wanted to just go and stand his walls as it is. But there’s something in Kurama’s voice that made him stop, ruin his walls. Crack it and smash it into a thousand pieces. Kurama went nearer towards Hiei. "Gomen ne, koibito," he uttered. Then he flung his arms around the fire demon’s waist. Hiei softened. "Hiei?" called Kurama. He didn’t answer but Kurama knew that he knew. "Can you sing one more time?" he asked. "Kh," was his only answer. Kurama turned Hiei around. "Ok, but can you at least stay for supper? I need to show kaasan what I learn to cook today. Same that I want you to taste how it’s like," Kurama told Hiei. Hiei thought for a while. :… Kurama’s cooking was never bad. Anyway, I haven’t eaten for 2 days now. If he knew, he’ll ask me to eat a whole cow …: "Hn." Kurama smiled. "Doumo arigatou," then he gave Hiei a kiss on the mouth. Since Hiei’s mouth was slightly parted, Kurama made it into a long wet kiss. Later that evening… "Kaasan? My friend is having dinner here. I’m cooking tonight," Kurama hollered at his mother. Shiori peeped out from the kitchen. "Nani? But I had started to cook," said Shiori. "Never mind, you just leave it all here and go have a walk with tousan. Come back in one hour’s time," said Kurama shooing his mother out of the kitchen. Shiori blinked but smiled and took her coat as she saw her husband already waiting for her at the door. "Shuuichi-kun is going to cook for us, let’s get out of his way," said Mr. Hatanaka "Hai," and with that, they both went out of the house. Hiei looked at Kurama, he was running like wild to get this and that. Just to dump it in a flaming silver coloured cooking utensil. He was watching Kurama, very closely. His hair when he turned, his body when he moved, His slick slender hands and fingers. Suddenly he realised that Kurama was staring at him. "Nan da?" asked Hiei. "Hiei, Hiei, Hiei… I have finished cooking already. Let’s set the table," he pulled Hiei’s hand. ************ "So kaasan, how did it taste like?" asked Kurama anxiously. Shiori tasted the food that Kurama prepared. "Mmm… I’d give it a full 10 points," said Shiori smiling at her son. "Oishii ne?" she asked her husband. He nodded and took more. "My teacher said that I got the best grade for my cooking too, kaasan," said Kurama. "Sou da yo. Omedetou, Shuuichi," congratulated his mother. Kurama dare not to ask Hiei first about the dinner, he’ll ask later. "Your friend is very quiet, Shuuichi," commented Shiori. "Ah, Hiei? He is very quiet. That’s why I invited him to dinner, so he can’t complain about my cooking," said Kurama jokingly when he was helping his mother to clean the table. Shiori gave Kurama a light spank on his back side and took the plate to the sink. "Ah Shuuichi, go and entertain your friend. I’ll take care of it from here," she told her son. "Hai kaasan," said Kurama and rushed to his room. "Ne Hiei, how’s the dinner?" asked Kurama, changing into his pyjamas. "The truth?" asked Hiei. Kurama stopped and looked at Hiei. :… I knew it, I am a bad cook …: he nodded. "Yes, the truth," said Kurama, settling beside Hiei. Hiei gave him a small smiled. "Best one I ever had," he told Kurama. "Honto ka? Doumo," he gave Hiei a hug. Suddenly the phone rang. "Matte, denwa da yo," and he went to pick up the phone. "Moshi-moshi," greeted Kurama. "Oi Kurama, Yuusuke," "Ahh… hai, nan de?" "Remember tomorrow, our little rehersal," "Hai, hai… oboeru ga yo," "Ok then. After school my place," "Ah, wait…," "What?" "I just discovered something," "What is it?" "Hiei could sing. He sings very well indeed," "Honto ne? well, grab him too. Kare no tetsudau ware-ware iru deshou," "Yoshi," Kurama walked back to bed and looked at Hiei. "Can you see me after school tomorrow?" asked Kurama. :… Oh no, what does this fox have in his tiny brains now? …: thought Hiei. "Onegai," he pleaded. Hiei sighed. "Hn." *********** When Hiei reached Kurama’s school next afternoon, he wasn’t the only one waiting for Kurama. Yuusuke and Kuwabara were also there. "Em, what are you two doing here?" asked Hiei. "Waiting for Kurama," said Yuusuke. A few moments later, a swarm of students in pink coloured uniforms came out of the school. A schoolboy stopped and asked the three boys which were standing in front of the school gate, looking like they were looking for something or someone. "Who are you looking for?" he asked. "Erm, Kura… I mean Minamino Shuuichi. Did you see him anywhere?" asked Yuusuke. The boy smiled. "Ahh, are you all going to ask his hand in marriage too?" asked the boy. Yuusuke, Hiei and Kuwabara gave the boy a puzzled look. "There are already four ‘boys’ who did that earlier this day. Unfortunately, the redhead didn’t accept all of them," the boy continued, ending his story with a smile and a sarcastic hint. "Oh… no, no, no… were just his friends," said Kuwabara, assuring him. The boy nodded. "Well, wait until all the boys are out. He would be in between those crazy girls," and he walked away. "Wow, never knew that any guy would ask Kurama to marry a him," said Kuwabara. Yuusuke gave him a big punch on the stomach. "Watch what you’re talking Kazuma," whispered Yuusuke. "Ah, gomen I forgot," said Kuwabara, clumsily scratching his head. Hiei snorted. Then a crowd of girls came out of school. Kurama is in the middle of it. "Yo Kurama!" hollered Kuwabara and Yuusuke. Kurama saw them and smiled. "Gomen ne girls, have to go. There’s my friends," apologised Kurama and slipped out of the girls. ********** "Now one, two, three…," the music starts and they sang. "Hiei, you sing this," said Kurama pointing at a line when Kuwabara was singing. "Ore wa?" asked Hiei. Kurama nodded, and the cue was on. Hiei had no choice but to sing. Kuwabara nearly dropped his jaws when he heard the little shrimp’s voice. When the music ends. "E… Hiei, your voice is good," said Kuwabara. "Yes Hiei, it’s very… different," said Yuusuke. Kurama smiled. "Told you he can sing," and the all continued rehearsing. ****************
Kurama blinked. The prom party was quite nice. He was attired in a white tuxedo, smiling warmly at everyone who looked at him. His companion didn’t like the whole idea. Kurama had invited Yuusuke, Keiko, Kuwabara, Yukina, Shizuru, Koenma, Botan and last but not least, his favourite fire demon to this prom party. Everyone in the room seemed to be paired. Even Shizuru, she had found a senior to dance around with. He had just came in the ballroom with Hiei and he instantly became the centre of attention. Girl flirting secretly with him, winking at him, even though they have their own date. Hiei snorted, he hated this. He hated the whole idea. He shouldn’t have come to this stupid ‘prom party’ as Kurama would call it. He cleared his throat. "Kono wa party ga kirai da, Shuuichi-san," he told Kurama dryly, oddly polite too. Kurama gave him a soft smile. "What if we get a seat?" he asked Hiei, not waiting for the answer, he practically dragged the poor little fire demon to a corner. A girl in lavender coloured dress glared at Hiei. Hiei glared back at her. Kurama realised that Hiei was glaring at his classmate, Aikiyoshi. She is one of the girls that guys won’t want. She likes gay! Kurama had nothing against her though. ^_^; "Imagawa-san, you came here alone?" Kurama asked Aikiyoshi. She nodded. "Honestly, I hate this. I hate this dress, I hate the song… it’s not right. Everyone seemed to have each other but me," she muttered. Hiei laughed dryly. "You’re jealous," he told her. "Who are you?" she snapped. Kurama smiled. "Er… em… This is my friend, Hiei. Hiei, this is Aikiyoshi Imagawa. She’s my classmate," introduced Kurama. "Ano, Minamino-kun… kare wa kawaii desu ne," she commented. Kurama swore that he saw Hiei blushed. "Anyway, I’m going off to have fun. Enjoy the party… shrimp," Hiei looked up to find her, but she was gone. "I hate her," he told Kurama. Kurama laughed and handled him a glass of punch that a boy was passing around. They could see Yuusuke dancing with Keiko. He was trying to do a break-dance. Everyone clapped. Then suddenly the party DJ stopped the music. A sound of protests were heard, but was quieted by the DJ. "Hey… does anyone here want to hear Minamino-kun sing?" asked the DJ. "YEAH!" the crowd answered. Kurama smiled. "Ikuzo Hiei," he told Hiei and pulled him to the stage. "What? No! I’m not going up there," Hiei protested. "Minamino! Minamino!…" the crowd started. "Come on Hiei, just for fun," with that he practically pushed Hiei up the stage. Kurama took the microphone and smiled. "Well, me and my friends are going to dedicate a song to you all," he announced, the crowd cheered. "I would like to call upon my other friends, Yuusuke, Kazuma, Yukina, Keiko, Koenma and Botan," Hiei tried to run but Kurama caught him and pulled him back. Within the next second, the others were on the stage. They opened the curtain and there was a keyboard, a drum set, 2 electric guitars, a bass and a lead, tambourine and a maracas. Botan went to the keyboard, Kuwabara the drums, Yuusuke the microphone, Keiko the tambourine, Yukina the maracas and Kurama the lead guitar. Hiei was still cursing on the stage, refusing to do anything. The crowd was cheering louder. "Come one Hiei, that one song… please…," Kurama pleaded. Hiei snorted and took the bass guitar. "Eh heh… heh… I, the Great Kazuma Kuwabara would present you guys with my excellent drum playing!" with that, he demonstrated a few beats. Everyone clapped. "Shut up, Kuwabara … ahaha… I’m Yuusuke Urameshi, will present you guys with my sweet voice along with Kura… I mean Shuuichi Minamino and the others," Yuusuke introduced himself. Botan cleared her throat. "I’m Botan, the keyboard player!" and she played a complicated tune, everyone clapped and cheered. Kurama handed the microphone to Hiei, he looked at Kurama as if he had swallowed a frog. "What?" he asked Kurama annoyingly. Kurama smiled. "Introduce yourself," said Kurama. Hiei took the mic and looked at the audience. A few girls screamed. "Boy, you’re so cute!" Hiei blinked. "I… ore no namae wa Hiei," and he shoved the mic back to Kurama. "He’s shy," said Kurama, and giggles were heard all around. Hiei wanted to run out off the stage but Kurama held him. "I’ll pay you somehow… for this," he told Hiei with pleading emerald eyes. Hiei sighed and took the guitar, fastened it around his neck and let out a big breath. "Ano… our song will be Mienai Mirai E," with that the music starts. *‘Mienai Mirai E’ -Can’t see into the Future- is the original YUYUHAKUSHO soundtrack. If anyone of you wants it, my icq # is 13254597. I’ll send it to you! ^_^* After that, every cheered and clapped. Kuwabara and the others were certainly surprised by Hiei’s voice. "Didn’t knew you could sing well, shrimp," commented Kuwabara, he had forgotten that the mic is still on. Everyone in the hall laughed. "Bakayaro! Nenbu no osamae doki o Kazuma!" for all Hiei knew, Kuwabara was already off stage. "Thank you everyone for sparing your ears for that!" said Yuusuke and Kurama. "Minamino-kun! You are great!" shouted a girl somewhere in the crowd. Kurama smiled and the curtains went down. The party went on… They went back an hour before midnight. "I’ll be late for my curfew," Kurama gave a girl and excuse. "That excuse was lame," Hiei told Kurama. "You should have heard the one he gave to the boy. He said that he was sending his little brother home before his mother put up a searching party," said Yuusuke. Kuwabara laughed like and idiot *as if he’s not one already* Yuusuke dived his elbow deep into Kuwabara’s stomach as he sensed Hiei being several degrees hotter. "Tata, ore wa nemui ga da yo!" said Kuwabara, adding his big yawn for effect. "Hai, Oyasuminasai minna-san," with that they all head their own ways. On the way, Hiei began to lean on Kurama. Still walking but leaning a bit to him. "Sleepy?" asked Kurama. "Hn," was the sweet cute little answer. Kurama stopped. He turned towards Hiei and kneeled down. He hugged Hiei tight. "I am very thankful for that thing just now," he told Hiei, the answer was silent. But then Hiei decided to speak. "At least you should have told me earlier," he complained. "Em, and let you find an excuse to not to come to the prom party? I guess not," answered Kurama. Hiei thought for a while. :… Hmm… I think I’d do that …: Kurama breathed steadily on Hiei’s chest. They were like that for quite a while when Hiei spoke. "Can we get to your home now?" he asked. "And let you leave me alone after that? No, don’t think so. Rather have you here," Kurama replied. "Even if I promise to stay?" This was new. Kurama looked up to Hiei’s brick eyes. "Mikomi?" Kurama asked, pleading like a Chibi-kitsune. Hiei nodded once. Kurama got on his feet instantly. He carried Hiei and lifted him up. "Kitsune no baka, let me down," he ordered. Kurama placed him down gently and ran. Hiei ran after him as his hands were entangled with Kurama’s. Or was he practically towing the poor koorime? Minamino residence was dark and silent. Kurama forced Hiei to follow him, using the front door. "Why do we have to use the front door?" complained Hiei. "Shh…," was Kurama’s reply. As to Kurama and Hiei’s surprise, the light suddenly switched on. Both of them tried their best to adjust to the sudden bright surrounding. Kurama gasped. "Ano… kaasan? Why are you still up yet?" asked Kurama. "Shuuichi? I was just going up when I heard a voice. Ah, is that your friend?" asked Shiori. :… Damn, this sure spoils the plan… c’mon Kurama think fast …: Kurama looked at his hands which were holding another hand, Hiei’s hand. "Ah, hai kaasan. My friend," answered Shiori. She looked oddly at Shuuichi but decided that her son wouldn’t lie to her, so she smiled. "Yoshi, Oyasuminasai," with that, she switched off the lights. Kurama let out a relieved sigh. Hiei looked at Kurama. Kurama gifted him with a smiled. "Ikuzo," he pulled Hiei up to his room, locked the door and smiled. He lighted a candle. Nice warm atmosphere. Kurama changed his clothes. He heard soft tunes. Hiei was singing bits from the song just now. He sounded very sweet and unaware. Kurama turned around and saw an also undressed Hiei, Well he had told him that he hated the little tuxedo. *hehe-imagine Hiei in a tuxedo* "Ano… kimi wa hayaku ne?" noted Kurama, getting on the futon himself. "Hn," was the same answer. "Hiei?" called Kurama. "Nani?" asked Hiei. "Doumo arigatou," uttered Kurama. "Nan de?" asked Hiei. "For staying tonight," he said. "You have to pay me, remember?" answered Hiei, even though he wanted to stay with Kurama just because he love him too much to leave him and go to Makai, alone. Kurama placed his lips over Hiei’s slightly parted ones. "Ai shiteru, Hiei…" *Phew, took me 2 hours to write all of that! I AM a slow typer… blame me… and I don’t do good stories… what do you think?" * Special thanks to Siew Lee for her inspiration!* Bulma Briefs bulma_v_briefs@hotmail.com UIN#13254597 https://members.tripod.com/~Bulma_Briefs/manga_mansion.html
