Haha… alright… enough with rambling and babbling… A fanfic by ~> Bulma Briefs ************************************ This, is something I thought about when I hear this song. This is VIVA FOREVER, by the Spice Girls… even though Geri is out, but the song still lives in some of us… *********** Viva Forever Do you still remember, how we used to be feelings together believe in whatever, my love had said to me. Both of us were dreamers, young love in the sun, felt like my saviour my spirit I gave you we’d only just begun. ************ Kurama looked at Hiei. He was injured all over. Blood, oozing out from parts of his weak body. Kurama was still watching his friend. Yukina was concentrating hard, she was trying very hard to cure Hiei with all her abilities. Even making him stop from slipping away is good enough. Kuwabara who was always noisy at times like this was also silent. Yuusuke had his hand curled around Keiko’s. Botan bit her fingernails. Blaming herself for what had happened. :… I should not have went and interrupt. If Kurama hadn’t stopped and shouted at me, Hiei wouldn’t have jumped over to push him away from the blast. Botan no baka! …: she cursed herself. Shizuru sighed. She lit up a cigarette and inhaled deeply. Savouring every molecule of smoke entering her body. She glanced over at Kurama who was sitting across from her. She could sense him tense all over, his lips, trembling slightly. Eyes… those watery emerald eyes, those usual eyes that always contain warmth and cheer was now sad and filled with tears. Yukina was shivering, Kuwabara shifted closer to her. He mumbled something asking about was she alright or something like that. Yukina shook her head. She was obviously tired. Hiei’s injury was really bad that an average youkai would be dead and blown to bits. His legs were scorched badly, so was his arms. His Kokuryuuha had returned to his arm… quiet… peaceful… A deep cut was visible near his gut. It was still oozing blood. Kurama had tried to stop it earlier by covering his hand over it. But it was still oozing out slowly, wetting and staining Kurama’s hands with blood. Hiei’s blood, the most scariest sight ever in Kurama’s head now. Hiei was injured. Hiei is going to die. Hiei is going to leave them. Hiei. His Hiei… Kurama closed his eyes tightly. Pearls of tears rolled down his cheeks. *********** Yes I still remember, every whispered word the touch of my skin, giving live from within, like a love song that I’ve heard. slipping through my fingers, like the sands of time, promises made every memory said have reflections in my mind. *********** Yukina straightened up. "I’ve tried my best. He’s now asleep…," she announced. Kurama opened his eyes and almost jumped up with joy but frowned when he sensed something was wrong. He eyed Yukina. Yukina nodded. "Gomen nasai, Kurama-san. I could only delay his time…," she uttered under her breath. She lowered her head down beside her brother’s and sobbed. "Gomen nasai, oniisan… I am not good enough… I should… I should… have practice more…," she sobbed between her words. Yuusuke was up first, he moved closer towards Hiei. "Hiei… I don’t know if you can hear me… but I just want to say that… I… I…," he couldn’t continue his words. He wrapped his arms around the nearly lifeless limb body and sobbed. Kuwabara moved closer next. "Hiei, I’m very sorry for the things I’ve said and done to you. No hard feelings brat…," he smiled wearily and wrapped his gigantic hands around Yuusuke who was still hugging Hiei. Keiko, Shizuru, Botan, Genkai and Atsuko was silent. Their eyes were glued to the floor. Not moving a muscle. But then, one by one started sobbing; starting from Botan, who was promptly cursing herself with every bad word she knew. Well most of them she learnt it for Hiei. Minutes passed by, Genkai stood up. She walked to the door. Kurama still didn’t moved. Still sitting there, ‘suwaru’ style, head down, trails of never ending tears rolled down. Wetting his lap. Genkai gave slow false coughs. "Ahem… ahem…," she started. Shizuru looked up. Genkai glanced at Kurama, nodded and walked out of the room. A silent gesture for the others to follow her out of the room. Shizuru stood up, pulling Atsuko up gently. She whispered something in Atsuko’s ears, she nodded and walked out of the room, rubbing her tears off with the back of her hand. :… dear little Hiei… so strong… so young… but eventually goes away too…: she thought as she walked out of the room. Shizuru walked towards Botan, she was weeping endlessly. A soft whine could be heard. "Come on Botan, lets leave Hiei and Kurama alone for the last time," whispered Shizuru. Botan nodded and stood up but continued to cry on Shizuru’s chest. They walked together towards the door. Keiko looked up at them. Shizuru nodded and Keiko stood up following them, eyes puffy and red. Walking past Kuwabara, Shizuru gave his orange top a slight tug. Kuwabara looked up from his hug and sobs. Shizuru gestured with her head so that Kuwabara, Yukina and Yuusuke would leave Kurama and Hiei together for the last time. Kuwabara nodded wearily. He gave Yuusuke a slight tap, he too looked up. "We should leave now," said Kuwabara, glancing at Kurama who was still in the same position. A crying statue. Yuusuke looked at Kurama and nodded. Kuwabara pulled Yukina up gently and quietly. Yukina continued to sob in Kuwabara’s broad big chest. He guided her out following Yuusuke. ********* But we’re all alone now, was it just a dream feelings unfold, every memory sold, and the secrets safe with me. ********* Kuwabara slid the door shut. Kurama could hear footsteps, fainter… fainter… fainter… with every step. Finally he looked up. Hiei was still lying in front of him. Limp… Lifeless… He shifted closer to Hiei. Closer, his nose smelled the stale blood. He lowered his head and licked away the trace of blood on Hiei’s face. Salty… tangy… sweet… :… My sweet dear Hiei …: he uttered under his breath. He straightened up. He tore off the remaining of Hiei’s clothes. Baring his chest. He sunk his head on it, sobbing… crying… He bit Hiei’s chest. "Why Hiei? Why did you leave me so soon?" demanded Kurama, biting harder on his chest. "WHY?" He sobbed harder against Hiei’s chest. He could feel Hiei getting colder and colder every second. Slipping away… going away… "NO HIEI! Wake up! Don’t leave me! Wake up!" Kurama shouted. Everyone outside could hear Kurama’s crave. They grew even sadder at the thought that Kurama would lose his lover. His one and only lover. A relationship that none of them had ever had, could ever had. A feeling that couldn’t be described by any word. The only person that Kurama ever truly care about was about to slip away. Kurama dug his nail into Hiei’s skin. "Wake up Hiei! You promised me! You promised me that you would be with me! Forever, for eternity! Hiei can you hear me?" demanded Kurama. He straightened up and forced Hiei up by pulling up his shoulders as if they were sitting. Hiei’s weak head hung limply by his neck. "Hiei, please… come back…," pleaded Kurama a bit softer now. "Our dreams together… don’t you die on me! You haven’t built me a house in Makai yet!" He bit his lips and closed the space between his lover. He cried into Hiei’s hair. ----------- Hiei was falling. Falling down… It was dark, he couldn’t see a thing. The only thing he knew was that he was falling. He looked below him, there was nothing. How much deeper was he going to fall? That question kept lingering in his mind. Suddenly there was a sound. A very faint sound. A normal careless ear could easily mistaken it for the sound of the wind. Hiei tried to hold still. Seconds pass by and the sounds began to sound familiar. Sounds like… words… Hiei concentrated harder. A few moments later, those faint words were making sense to him. But it kept sliding away just when Hiei was trying to figure out what it means. Suddenly Hiei stopped. "Wake up Hiei… Wake up!" those words were frail, but very strong. Hiei halted. "Hiei! you promised me! Don’t leave me! Come back!" those exact powerful words, becoming clearer and clearer. Hiei felt like he was floating now. He was gaining leverage. He could do it! :… Why am I here in the first place?…: Suddenly that question knocked Hiei’s brain. He stopped for a while. The sound interrupted his thoughts once again. Now, clear as crystal. He could feel now that he was floating steadily. "Hiei wake up! I know you could hear me…!" cried those words. Hiei was now standing in front a barrier. A barrier that needed to be burst if Hiei was going to be conscious. But the question is, what’s the key to do it? Every plead Hiei heard was getting closer and closer, but he couldn’t pass through this particular barrier. He wanted to curse but forgotten how. How was he going to burst out of there? Kurama sobbed, letting his sense crawl back into his brains. He knew that Hiei was going to go and he could do nothing about it. But he would hold him, until his last breath. Hiei’s breathing was starting to get ragged and uneven. Kurama’s shutting his eyes tight. "Hiei… Doumo Arigatou Gozaimasu…," he paused for a while, giving way for a weak sob. "Ai shiteru…," he uttered under his breath. Suddenly the barrier was shattered to pieces, like broken glasses. Hiei widened his eyes and stepped out of the barrier. Hiei shifted weakly inside Kurama’s arms. Hiei was trapped. Normally, the first thing he would do was to slash the thing that had trapped him to pieces but he inhaled deeply first. A familiar scent lingered inside his nose, send a certain shudder over his little pine. His brains began working bit by bit. Now he remembered the scent. A fresh scent… the scent of Kurama. :… Kurama …: He shifted once again. Kurama felt it this time but thought it was all his imagination. He ignored it and continued sobbing softly in Hiei’s hair. "Ku-ra-ma?" called a soft weak voice. Kurama lifted up his head to find where did that voice came from. "Kurama…," repeated the voice. This time Kurama glanced down at the little being in his arms. A pair of bloodshot eyes were eyeing him. Heavy from unconsciousness. Kurama blinked. He was too overjoyed to even shout. ********** Hasta manana, always be mine. Viva forever, I’ll be waiting everlasting like the sun. Live forever, for the moment ever searching for the one… *********** "I heard a voice," said Hiei. "What did it say?" asked Kurama. "Huh, that’s for me to know and you to guess," answered the little youkai, a small smile seemed to appear from the corner of his thin lips.
