Hi! My name's Sara, aka the Mercurian Lover.I'm here to introduce you to my story. Like my pal, GoldenClaw, said, it's based on both Sailor Moon (the NA version, but there will be some small references to the original) and Star Trek (Next Gen). But I will also be tossing in some elements from Greek (and Roman) mythology. Take, for instance, the name of the main character of my first story, Kore. Since it's Greek, the 'e' at the end of her name (which is normally silent in English) adds an extra syllable. So you pronounce it like the boy's name, Corry. After I had started writing this story,I realized what I was creating was a parallel of the myth of Persephone. Persephone, the young goddess of the Spring, was dragged into the Underworld by Hades, it's ruler. She eventually was allowed to leave, for six months out of every year. The mourning of her mother, Demeter, goddess of agriculture, when Perephone returns to the Land of the Dead is the supposed cause of the seasons. Anyway, after I had come to this recognition I decided to run with it a little more. This whole idea of a Sailor Moon/Star Trek meld is the result of a joke E-mail I sent a friend, naming Sailor Scouts from a score of Trek planets. I eventually narrowed it down to three new ones to begin with, Sailors Vulcan, Betazed, and Klingo(really, it should be Sailor Kling, but it doesn't have the same ring to it), and their two talking tribble friends, Hermes & Aphrodite. Of course, if they were to have a child (extremely un-tribble like)it would have to be called Hermaphrodite. Back on the subject, as for Sailor Persephone, her ruling planet came from an old legend I once read, about another planet, Persephone, that was between Mars & Jupiter, where the asteroid belt is. BTW, in a similar legend, Vulcan was the planet closest to the sun, but it was swallowed up by it. I may work this in. Further into the story, Sailor Moon & the other scouts will join up, but it may be a while. First, I'm working on a bit of a 'historical' bit, Kore's story. Please stick with me, more WILL come, I promise. Sara Questions? Comments? Write to me at b_jork@hotmail.com All flames will be promptly put out.
