Episode One-"A Second Farewell, Mamoru Returns to America"

**Notes-The Story of Bishojo Senshi Sailormoon Sailorstars Celestial begins after the end of Bishojo Senshi Sailormoon Sailorstars and is the story that preceeds Bishojo Senshi Sailormoon Celestial**

Like the sun vanishing as night falls over the world, Galaxia flew away, the glittering mass of the starseeds she'd collected around her-The starseeds she would now return. Now, with her departure, peace settled down over the world. Or did it...? A question that is asked far too many times...

Her head resting on her hands, Usagi sat by the window, a dejected look on her face. And she had every right to be sad-Mamoru was returning to America, to finish his study's, that had been interupted... Interupted by Galaxia taking his Starseed. Not like that was a feesible excuse...
She had tried to loose herself in the wonder of the evening... The pinks and greys were so beautiful... But her mind wouldn't let her rest.
She sighed, as she traced circular patterns on the window. It was late night... Or was it early morning? She really didn't know. All she did know, was that her Mamo-chan was leaving for America the next day... Today...
She rested her hands on her head, **Why does he have to go...?** She asked herself. She couldn't live without him... **How can he do this to me?!** She buried her face in her hands, feeling her tears wet her hands.
"How can he do this to me..." Her mind drifted back, back to when Mamoru told her his dreadful news...

"America? What do you mean, Mamo-chan?" Her voice sounded high, as she demanded what he meant of his earlier comment.
"The college in America is going to accept me on my scholarship still. They bought my excuse..." He looked off, his gaze distant.
"Then..." She set her jaw in a determined fashion. "I'm going with you." He blinked in surprise.
"You can't, Usako." He said softly, drawing her into his embrace.
"I don't care!" She cried, burying her face in his chest. "I don't want you to go!" She sobbed, as she began to cry, holding him with all her strength.
"Usako..." He whispered, stroking her hair.
"I may be being selfish, but I don't want... I don't want you to go!!" He patted her gently on the back,
"I won't be gone that long..." He said in a reasuring tone.
"Mamo-chan..." She pleaded, sobbing.
"Usako..." He answered her, as he tried to comfort her. "Don't worry, I'll be back..."

"And now he leaves tomorrow..." She whispered. "Tomorrow..." She pounded her fist on the frame of the window. "Why is he doing this to me?!"
"Usagi-chan?" She heard Luna behind her. She turned, and looed down at the cat.
"Hai, Luna?" She asked, trying to sound strong.
"You're sad he's leaving..."
"Of course I am!" She snapped. She winced, seeing the look on Luna's face.
"I'm sorry, Usagi-chan. I shouldn't..."
"Iie, Luna. It's my fault." Usagi turned away. "I AM taking this hard. I don't want to loose him again..." She let her voice trail away.
"Usagi-chan!" Luna cried. "He's only going to be gone for a few months. It's not forever!"
"Luna... I..." She shook her head, wiping the tears that had dried on her face away. "I love him..."

That afternoon, she found herself at the airport, wringing her hands with worry. He hadn't shown up yet... And something inside her was happy. **He's seen what a stupid, stupid idea this is, and is staying home!** She smiled, then crumbled when she heard his words.
"Usako, I'm glad you could make it."
She turned to face him, forcing a smile onto her face. **He's here..."**
"Konnichi wa, Mamo-chan." She said, with a smile. He smiled as well, drawing her into a hug.
"I'm happy to see you..." He whispered, then kissed her lightly upon the lips. She drew back.
"Mamo-chan, I won't see you for a while... I..." She felt her resolve crumbling, **No, I can't cry! I have to be strong for him!** "You'll write, ne?"
"Hai. Mochi ron."
"Good... Then, you should be going... Don't want to miss your flight." He nodded, drawing her once again into his embrace. her kissed her, deeply, passionately, and she poured all of her soul into that one kiss.
**Please come back...**
They drew apart, and she watched in silence, crying within, as he left, and headed towards the boarding for his plane.
She wanted to run after him, she wanted to doanything... Anything but stand by and watch him go.
**No... I have to be strong for him...** She repeated, eyes unwavering on his form, smaller and smaller. Her blue eyes trembled, with supressed emotion. **He wants to go to America... This is good for him..." She wiped her eyes, and noticed she was crying. She smiled softly, sadly, then turned away. And then...

...She was in the midst of a battlefield, acrid smoke burning her nostrils. It brought tears to her eyes, and she fought her revulsion that came with the assault on her senses. And then, she saw her... A girl... Then, the world span, and she was falling...

..."Daijobu ka?" A sweet voice, a melodic voice, asked. So beautiful after the ravaged landscape Usagi had just seen. Usagi opened her eyes slowly, and her blurry gaze focused on a girl.
"Hai, daijobu." The girl who knelt beside Usagi smiled in relief, a radient smile. **She's beautiful...** Usagi thought, watching the girl. Pale ivory skin, ethereal looking with her long silver hair, which hung in
silky waves. Her eyes were the most captivating of all-A sparkling golden, almost like sunlight... It was then that Usagi noticed that she was staring.
"Go-gomen!" She stammered, trying to regain her composure. "Gomen nasai!"
"Don't worry." The girl said with a smile. "I'm glad you're all right... My name is Hoshinohikaru Hanayaka." She said, as she stood. She held out her hand in greeting, as well as to help Usagi up. Usagi extended her hand, and accepted the help greatfully. She was helped to her feet, and bowed.
"Domo arigato gozaimasu, Hanayaka-san." Usagi smiled, her first since Mamoru had left so little ago. "My name is Tsukino Usagi."
"Tsukino Usagi..." The girl murmured. "An interesting name. And, doitashimashite, Usagi-san. It was my pleasure." She brushed a strand of pale silver hair out of her eyes. "Dozo yoroshiku."
"Hai, I feel the same way, Hanayaka-san. Demo," Usagi looked down suddenly. "I have to go meet my friends." She looked up again, smiling again. "Maybe we'll see eachother some other time, Hanayaka-san." Hanayaka nodded her head in agreement.
"Hai, I understand. And, maybe we WILL see eachother again some day..."

Usagi walked along the sidewalk, staring down at her feet. **I can't let everyone know how sad I am...** She thought, as she walked on. **I have to be strong... be strong...** She neared the Crown Game Center, and entered. She looked around, and headed over to the cafe. She found her friends at 'there' table. **Be strong!** She warned herself, as she waved, "Minna!" They looked over at her, Rei scowling,
"You were late!" She said hotly, and then...
And then, the world span...

...The girl stood before her, hair fluterring around her in silken waves. "You are Serenity..." The girl whispered. "You are the Princess..."
She looked up, her eyes flashing. "Please, we must find the Crystal! Or else..." And then, Usagi was falling again...

"Usagi! Usagi! Daijobu ka?!" Rei cried, shaking Usagi's still form.
Th girls sat around them.
"Usagi-chan!" They pleaded, praying she would wake. Nothing seemed to be working...
"Usagi! Usagi! Me ga samemasu! Onegai, me ga samemasu!" Minako's voice was urgent, pleaded. And then, like the first star of night, Usagi opened her eyes.
"Minna..." She whispered.
"Usagi!" Minako cried in relief, hugging her. Rei hugged her as well, and then she noticed what she was doing. She let go of her, and turned away. Usagi smiled sadly, as she hugged Minako.
"Daijobu ka?" Ami asked, a look of worry on her face.
"What happened?" Minako asked urgently, pushing Usagi back so she could take a look at her.
"Do you feel all right?" Makoto asked, the same tone in her voice.
"Minako-chan...," She whispered with a smile upon her face. "Minna..." She turned to face them all, and smiled at them, as she sits up. "Daijobu, minna. I'm just tired..." **Am I?** She asked herself. "I'm all right now, I guess I should go home and take a nap..." Minako helped Usagi to her feet,
"I'll walk with you, Usagi-chan." Minako said with a smile.
"Hai, me too." Makoto nodded in agreement.
"Well, I suppose I'll go to." Rei said, a note of annoyance in her voice. Ami nodded.
"So will I. The bookstores on the way and I have to pick up a new book..."
The others looked at her.
"Na-nani?!" They shook their heads.
"Nothing, Ami-chan... Nothing at all." Ami shrugged at Makoto's vague comment.
As they walked, Minako turned to face Usagi. "Well, how did it go?"
She asked, and Usagi replied slowly,
"Good, I guess..." Usagi murmured softly, slowly. "I saw Mamo-chan off. I'll miss him..." **Please, I can't cry now...** She pleaded with with herself. She couldn't cry... She couldn't... She
"We know you'll miss Mamoru-san, Usagi-chan." Minako said sympathetically. "Demo, he'll be back." The others nodded in agreement.
"Hai..." She said, trying desperately to reassure herself that Minako was right. "It won't be that long, and then he'll be back..." She nodded, and smiled. Still, she tried to ignore the fear she felt nibbling at the edge of her sense. **I hope...**

Setsuna sat at her desk, typing. She gazed at her clock. It read past midnight. With a sigh, she turned back to the computer. "Not that much left..." She murmured. She set back to her typing, glancing ocassionally at the clock. Time went by slowly...
...She looked up suddenly, a sense of WRONG weighing on her mind.
"A darkness... A new darkness approaches..." She lifted her hand to her face,
in an attempt to shield herself from the sense of wrong. But the dread still
filled her body...

At that exact moment, Michiru, who had been sipping tea in her living roon, set her cup down, as she felt a similar shock to her system. She trembled, and the cup fell from her hands. The liquid soaked the carpet, but she didn't see. She reached, with pale hands, to the table, and picked up the Deep Aqua Mirror. Reluctantly, she looked into it's surface. And gasped... "Evil..." **What is this Evil that I feel?**
She shook her head, as she set her mirror down. **I wish Haruka was hear...
I don't want to be alone tonight...** "Haruka..." She whispered, and for the first time ever she wished her love had not left the city for the champion race...
