Episode Two-"First Meeting, The Blood Crystal Kingdom Strikes"
The Blood Crystal... The Blood Crystal and its Darkness shall menace the Earth. The lost one will once again find the way, and the darkness of evil will destroy the light of the White Moon...
"AAAH!" Hotaru awoke suddenly, breathing heavilly. She looked around her room then passed a hand across her face, "What... what a terrible nightmare..." She got up and slowly walked through her dark bedroom, heading towards her full length mirror. She reached it and stood before it. The reflection... it shifted... No longer did she look at herself... someone else was looking back at her, "Who are you?" Hotaru asked the reflection, as she took a step back. The mirrors surface suddenly became completely black. Hotaru trembled, it was not a dream, but a vision: the Blood Crystal... the Darkness... the Lost One... it was not a dream!
"It wasn't a dream!" Hotaru screamed, as she grabbed a chair, and slammed it into the mirror, reducing the mirror to dust.
"Hotaru!" The door burst open, and Tomoe Souchi entered, worry written on his face. He was amazed to see his daughter in tears, brandishing the chair. The girl looked up at her father with empty eyes, tears streaking her face.
"Pappa." She said in an empty voice. "Pappa, the Blood Crystal... the Lost One..." and then, she ran into his arms, sobbing.
Coldly glinting dark green eyes focused warilly upon the darkness the lingered before her, and wavy hair that shifted from red to golden fell around her. "It's been a thousand years... Finally, I'm free of the Dark Kingdom!" She laughed, her pale skin luminiscent in the half-light. "Now, to bring forth the Crystals full power..." Her eyes fell upon a kneeling figure. A woman, with pale yellow hair, in a single bun, with a waist length ponytail, and eyes the color of blood. She wore a pale orange, lowcut, miniskirt dress, belted with a red sash and red knee highed boots. Her only jewels were a pair of sparkling ruby teardrop earrings, a pair of golden bracers set with rubies, and a slender gold chain around her forehead, like a tiara, set with another small teardrop ruby.
"Hyacinth." She hissed, and the woman looked up at her. Blood red eyes flashed in the light...
"Yes, My Queen." She replied, as she stood.
"It has been a long time since we have seen the light of the Earth... Far too long..."n.
"That is has been, My Queen." Hyacinth replied. Her queen turned to face her, eyes narrowed.
"The Crystal is hungry, Hyacinth..."
"I see... I shall remedy that, My Queen..."
"Good, Hyacinth. Do not fail me... Or you will follow Quartz..." Hyacinth's face paled.
"O-Of course, My Queen... Do not worry..." Next to her, a long black staff set with a ruby, surrounded by smaller topaz, appeared. And then she vanished...
Her Queen smiled, a strangely beautiful smile. "Soon..." She whispered. "Soon..."
"Do you sense it as well?" Michiru asked Setsuna, who had handed her a cup of hot tea. She seemed very tired, but it was clear in her mind.
"Something is going to happen. Something evil..."
"Hotaru..." Michiru whispered.
"She's in danger..." Setsuna nodded. Michiru set her cup down,
"What are we going to do? Upset the others?"
Setsuna shook her head. "The Princess is hurting since the Prince left for America. We'll examine this on our own."
"Hai." Michiru nodded. "Still... What can this feeling mean?"
She lowered her gaze. "What is this evil I feel?"
"I don't know... It is unseen to me. I can not understand what paths Time can take..."
"But...," she picked up her cup again. "How can it be clouded to YOU, Setsuna? You can see..."
"Hai, I can see all possibilities. But not this one..." She grined softly, "It seems..."
"This just doesn't seem right. Is Usagi-chan in danger? What about Hotaru? This is all so confusing, Setsuna!" Michiru exclaimed.
The elder woman nodded, "I know, I know... But what else can we do? All we have are feelings..."
"What about Rei-chan? Do you think she felt something?"
Setsuna glanced at the clock. "It's past midnight... We'll have to wait until tomorrow to ask her."
"And we'll have to wait to talk to Hotaru as well..."
The next day, Rei stood outside the temple, leaning upon her broom. She sighed in satisfaction. "I'm glad that's over..." She stood to her full heighth, "I wonder what I should do now..." As she took a deep breath, her mind went to the day before.
She had been so afraid when Usagi passed out. And she had shown it, too... She cursed her sincerity. **Why'd I have to be so nice to that odango atama?** She asked herself, clutching the brooms handle unconsciouly. "She never does anything for me..." She hissed, and began sweeping... Even though this area was already clean. All she succeeded in doing was getting it dirty, by getting leaves onto the path.
"Yuuichirou!" She yelled, her voice hot with anger. "Why haven't you raked the yard yet?!"
He came running, "Rei-san! Gomen nasai!" He bowed in apology, and she hit him over the head with the broom.
"Don't apologize! Just do the work!" She threw the broom down, and stormed inside. **That boy!** She raged silently, then heard a calming voice
behind her.
"You shouldn't be so cruel to him." Rei turned around sharply, and gasped.
"Setsuna-san! Michiru-san!" She blinked, "What are you two doing here?"
"We have a question for you, Rei-chan." Michiru murmured softly.
"E? What?" She asked.
"Have you... Have you had any visions lately, Rei-chan?" Setsuna asked, and Rei shook her head slowly.
"No... why?" She answered, and Setsuna shook her head sadly,
"It doesn't matter, Rei-chan." She replied.
"We'll be going now..." Michiru turned around sharply, followed by Setsuna.
"Matte!" Rei cried, but neither stopped. They left her their, in confused silence.
What do we do now?" Michiru asked her dark green haired companion.
Setsuna shrugged,
"Talk to Hotaru, I suppose. She may be the key to this all."
Michiru nodded, "You're right, Setsuna."
"Aren't I always?" Setsuna asked, with a grin.
Souichi opened the front door, and blinked in shock when he saw Setsuna and Michiru.
"You... Setsuna..." He murmured, as he took a step forwards. "Why are you here?"
"Please, let us see your daughter. Hotaru is in danger, we fear that something bad could happen to her. Please, let us enter!",
"Hotaru is already feeling very bad," Souchi said softly. "Please... leave her in peace!" He stepped back, and slammed the door. With a deep breath, Souichi glanced at the stairs. His mind drifted to his daughter, alone in her room. She looked so small, under her covers, her empty eyes staring, never talking, since she had broken the mirror the night before.
"Hotaru, my daughter..." murmured Tomoe. "All I want is for you to have anormal life..." But he knew, deep inside, that that would never happen...
"What can we do now?" Michiru asked, holding her mirror.
"We can only wait..." answered Setsuna. She turned back to the Tomoe house, and then turned and began walking away. As she neared the sidewalk, she felt Michirus hand on her shoulder.
"Setsuna... We have to wait... Hotaru will be here..." Michiru's voice, though pleading, was filled with hope. Setsuna nodded, and the two began their wait.
Hotaru sat up in bed, staring emptilly ahead. She moved from her bed, and headed out the door. Her father... She passed him, and he watched her go, shocked.
"Hotaru..." He pleaded. **So soon...?** He asked himself. But she didn't hear him. She went to the front door, and winced at the light when she was outside.
"Setsuna-mama... Michiru-mama..." She startled the two women.
"Hotaru!" Setsuna gasped, holding the girl tightly.
"Are you all right?" Michiru asked, worried.
The younger girl nodded. "Only... I've been having a dream... No, a nightmare..."
"A nightmare?"
"The Blood Crystal... The Blood Crystal and its Darkness shall menace the Earth. The lost one will once again find the way, and the darkness of evil will destroy the light of the White Moon..."
"That sounds ominous..." Michiru murmured softly.
"What should we do?" Setsuna asked, looking at the two.
Off to the side, in a flash of pale orange light, a woman appeared... Hyacinth. She narrowed her gaze at the three. **I see my target...** She thought, with a malicious grin, as she lifted up her staff...
Hotaru turned, almost like in a dream, and her gaze fell upon Hyacinth. The woman leveled her staff.
"I see you noticed me, girl..." She said coldly. Michiru and Setsuna blinked in surprise.
"Who-who are you?!" Setsuna demanded.
"I am Hyacinth, First of the Blood Crystal Kingdom."
"The Blood Crystal Kingdom..." Setsuna asked, and was then cut off.
"... The Blood Crystal Kingdom...," Hotaru murmured in recognition. "...The Blood Crystal... The Blood Crystal and its Darkness shall menace the Earth. The lost one will once again find the way, and the darkness of evil will destroy the light of the White Moon..." Her blazing purple eyes locked onto Quartzs startled ones. "NO!!!!" She screamed, her hair blowing around her, a purple aura surrounding her. "The Lost One will not find the way! The Princess will not be harmed!" As the symbol of Saturn shone upon her forehead, Michiru and Setsuna watched her in shock and surprise. "Saturn, give me your power!" Hotaru pleaded. "SATURN CRYSTAL POWER, MAKE UP!!"
"Mamo-chan..." Usagi looked out of her window, staring at the land outside. She felt so alone... **Mamo-chan, how are you?** She asked herself. Suddenly, she felt a power rush through her body. A rush like nothing she had felt before. She cringed, the energy weakening her. "Mamo-chan...?" She pleaded. "Come back please..."
Silver hair fluttered around her, as she felt the blaze of energy. Clutching a hand to her chest, the girl looked off towards the west, her golden eyes softened with a sadness that couldn't be understood. "The time has come..." Hoshinohikaru Hanayaka murmured. "Finally..."
"Chinmoku no hoshi dosei o shugo ni motsu." Sailorsaturn cried.
"Hametsu to tanjo no senshi, Sailorsaturn!" Setsuna and Michiru stared at Hotaru... At Sailorsaturn. Never had she reacted so quickly to fight the evil that had gone against them. It was almost unnatural for her. They watched, in somewhat numb shock, as she held her glaive at Quartz. "I'll fight you with all my strength. I'll save the Earth and my Princess. I'll defeat you forever! SILENT STORM!" She lifted the glaive into the sky, and slammed it sown into the ground. There was a moment of silence, then a massive, deafening roar as myriad ribbons of darkness shot at Hyacinth...
The First of the Blood Crystal Kingdom summoned the power of her staf, and a surge of red light shot out. **I can not fail...**
The two powers fought at a standstill, the power of Saturn at bay... Michiru held out her henshin wand, finally snapped from the entrancement that had held her. She lifted it up...
And then there was a blast of light, a surging bolt of irridescent hue that slammed into Hyacinth. The woman screamed, as she vanished into nothingness... Sailorsaturn, weakened from the struggle, leaned upon her glaive, as she turned to Michru and Setsuna. "Hotaru," murmured Michiru, as she put her henshin wand away. Setsuna, besides her, felt empty... as Hotaru's empty, unhappy gaze locked onto her own.
"The Blood Crystal... The Blood Crystal and its Darkness shall menace the Earth. The lost one will once again find the way, and the darkness of evil will destroy the light of the White Moon..." Sailorsaturn winced, then leaned upon her Glaive.
"What happened?" Michiru asked, as she turned to face Setsuna. But Sailorsaturn gave her no time to reply.
"Though that enemy is darker than any we have seen..." She said enigmatically, softly, "There is a light just as bright, that shall shine upon the evil..." Her head rolled forewards, as exhaustion took it's tooll on her... She lost her grip on the Silence Glaive as she fell to the ground, unconscious.
Usagi felt a tear slip down her cheek, biting cold against her warm skin. She shivvered, as she wrapped her arms around herself, and pulled at the edges of her robe. "I feel something... something I can't understand..." She looked out the window, and was lost in her reflection, as she mused over the strange thoughts. In time, however, she gave up, as she returned to her bed.
